Review Ono Poke - Houston

Noam Kostucki
I enjoyed this poke. It was fresh and everything tasted nice. It's great for a quick casual lunch. It felt satisfying without being mind blowing or extraordinary. I'll happily go back.

Ono poke consistently delivers high quality fish and ingredients for the ultimate experience. It's located in a small building that's easy to miss but worth the search! Be sure to try their signature Citrus Wasabi with your mix-ins and enjoy. Best Poké in Houston.

The apparent FIRST poke place in Houston. Went for a week night dinner with a friend. No one was there, so I was a bit hesitant. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Super fresh food and very fair pricing. I got the large (4 protein choices) with every add on imaginable. They even give sauces on the side for free if you want to try them out. $15 and plenty of food later, I would highly recommend this poke joint!

Delicious delicious. Very fresh. I thought good value for ther money. The whole family was impressed. I'll definitely be back! Came back in May 2019. Friendly service. Good portions for the money (not huge). Spam musabi is delicious! Bathrooms were clean although the paper towel dispenser was broken. I'll definitely be back.

Honestly this is my to-go place whenever I want to eat Poke. Best poke in town , my favorite is Spicy Salmon with seaweed salad .

This is easily one of the best Poke places in Houston. They always have fresh, quality ingredients and a lot of options. I typically get the signature Ono Poke (salmon and tuna) with rice and greens, avocado, spicy mayo, cilantro, and edamame. It’s a go-to place of mine, and they’ve been consistent every time. Highly recommend!

So I've tried various places and this is tied for my top choice! Parking lot conveniently on the side of the building and great customer service from the staff. The only picture I have is of an order I've taken to go, but probably one of the freshest tasting Poke bowls in Houston.

If you are vegetarian, be prepared to overpay for your meal! My daughter really loves this place, however I was quite disappointed. The only option for a bowl is with three proteins, and the only protein they have that is vegetarian is tofu. So the price of $10.50 is priced for three different kinds of fish. However, if you are just getting one serving of tofh, you still have to pay $10:50 for a bowl of tofu with vegetables. Not fair!

Been to this place twice now for to go orders and it does not disappoint! The ingredients are fresh, of top quality, and plus there are plenty to choose from for you to make your own poke bowl or you can choose one from their pre-chosen menu. Side note you can choose three different fishes for a bowl and that's included in the price. The guys that work there are knowledgeable and super sweet! Thanks Jim for taking care of us, this will be a place my husband and I add to our rotation of Houston favorites!

rustic, modern interior. fresh poke with a small yet reliable number of toppings. I like that you can order all that you want upfront and they'll put it together for you afterwards. the acai bowl has a rich ice cream texture. its contents are preselected (coconut flakes, granola, mango, and honey), but the flavor is smooth and (dare I say) deep. I would visit again. 😊

Legit 5 Stars. Pros: Clean, Quick, Good potions, the Poke Ono was great. I'll hop around on the specialities before attempting to build my own. The fish was really fresh and sauces were delicious. First time to have poke, but this might be my go-to. Easy drive and back to work 1hr lunch from downtown. Cons: None on my visit.

Yay, Houston finally has a good poké spot inside the loop! Ono Poké has had pop-up events around the city over the past year, but they have finally opened up full-time. We came on a Sunday afternoon. They have a private parking lot around the side (took over Absinthe Brasserie's spots since it closed down). There's also street parking, but be careful where you park exactly as it requires a permit on some streets. We went inside and ordered right away at the front register. I went with the regular-sized Ono Poké bowl which consists of three scoops of Salmon and Tuna with Ono sauce, onions, green onions, cucumbers, sesame seeds, nori strips, furikake, and a choice of white rice, brown rice, or no rice for $10.50. They offer a large-size for $11.95, and it comes with four scoops of meat instead of three. I went for the brown rice, you know... keeping it healthy! The seating indoors was completely full, so we went to the small outdoor patio they had. Our food was delivered to our table along with a choice of chopsticks or forks. I noticed how small my bowl of food looked. I devoured it pretty fast and felt like I wasn't full (yet). It tasted pretty good, and I definitely enjoyed it, but I would probably order the large next time. Overall, I am happy that this place is finally settled here in Houston. I would expect people to complain about value; it's pricey for the amount of food, but it's definitely tasty. We will definitely be coming back.

Tasty and so so quick! Their spicy shoyu is so delicious! I love that you can make your own and you can also get half mixed greens and half rice. I got the spicy salmon. It was very good and pretty spicy. The staff is kind and is good with recommendations. The atmosphere is nice. Many places to sit and there was good music playing.

Poke is a raw fish salad originating from Hawaii. Think sushi ingredients thrown in a bowl. It's quick, relatively cheap for fresh fish, and doesn't taste too bad either! A good place if you want a quick bite.

Regularly go here for a quick lunch or dinner since it's very close to my home. They're fast, nice, and almost always have high quality fish at the ready. The poke is top-tier, my favorite in the city. It's also nice to support small local chains like Ono, especially when the food is good. Note: when a fish is out of season or there's a supply shortage, they'll up their prices temporarily by a dollar or two to maintain their supply. I actually like this, I'd rather pay a little more for high quality fish when there's a shortage than for the restaurant to purchase lower quality fish to keep their prices and profits the same, at the expense of the food quality (like many other poke restaurant chains do).

I've been dreaming about Poke ever since my visit to Ono. This location is conveniently located with parking and the atmosphere is so bright and inviting. Pictured is the Sweet Chili Ahi and the Classic Ahi. Both were delicious. Go with the Sweet Chili if you want something different with a variety of texture.

I go there regularly and get the same thing every time. Can’t get a poke bowl anywhere else because this place ruined the rest of them for me! So good.

For poke, it wasn't that expensive! Had the custom bowl with 3 scoops of protein, rice, seaweed and added avocado. It was really delicious and the staff was quick and pleasant. They also have an outdoor area which is nice to hang out with friends.

Ordered to-go poke. Been going to this establishment for awhile as I find that the prices are great for the price—a bit smaller portions but good variety of options to choose from. Came out always fresh and delicious.
