Everyone one was very helpful, food was awesome (minus the over fried okra), kiddos loved every bit of it as all. Mrs. Rose was on point keep up with us. We will return! My son loves Mac And cheese and the severer gave double #Teammeandmy4piece .

Made a U-Turn to drive into Luby’s for lunch before I go see my doctor. I have been missing their food for the past 4 years. This place is busy during lunch! You have people from different ages and work backgrounds lining up to see a huge array of Salads, Meats and Fish, sides like mashed potatoes to fried okras, and of course beautiful old fashion American deserts. It would not be complete without a sweet tea. The two cashiers on either side of the room help you pay and offer you cash for tip (if you pay by credit card). My meal of fish, 2 sides, 1 bread, and sweet tea was $15.03. My waitress is Shell. She is fast and welcoming. Shell got me my sweet tea as I sat by the windows to enjoy my food and observe the guests. It’s a bit different from my old OST Luby’s which was torn down over a decade ago. But the familiarity makes me happy! Cheers to you all! Have a wonderful meal!

Only today was the chicken fried chicken too tough to eat. But this is rare as it never happened before! Every other thing was wonderful. I just wish they would bring back the cherry pie!

Visiting relatives, driving thru Houston. Had heard that there were several Luby's Cafeterias in the Houston area, so we looked them up & decided it would be a good place to have a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner. And it was! I grew up eating at Luby's with my family in Dallas. There was formerly one in Fsrmington. NM, 50 miles from our home in Durango, but the pandemic closed it down. So it's been a really long time since I had the pleasure of eating good cafeteria food in a nice atmosphere. At 12:30pm, there was a long line, but only a short wait until we were choosing our dishes. There were 7 meat or fish choices, turkey dinners with all the trimmings, lots of good vegetables, including comfort foods such as Mac 'n Cheese, good rolls, and cornbread. The only thing that was not seen was a large selection of deserts. Two TG favorites were featured: pecan and pumpkin pie. We had only the day before purched a 12" diam pecan pie, so we chose to split a slice of pumpkin pie, not my favorite, but it was our only nod toward a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I realize that cafeteria food is not considered good food by some (many?), but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. While ingering over desert with coffee, we planned Friday's travels along back country roads closest to the Gulf Coast, along barrier islands to Galveston, crossing by ferry to the Port Arthur peninsula. Then we have to travel some on I10 into Louisiana before cutting south thru Homa to again follow the less-traveled back country roads to and along the Gulf Coast. We can go as far east as the NE tip of Grande Isle, then must back track to N.O. to turn south toward the Southern-most point in Louisiana reachable by public road. It's way more fun than traveling Interstate Highway system, because you travel more slowly, more easily, don't feel like you have to "make time," and will likely see and experience things you otherwise would not. That's what traveling is all about. Back to Luby's Cafeteria: good food, good service both thru the line and while at the table, clean bright atmosphere, reasonable pricing, certainly for a greater selection of foods with larger servings than are generally served elsewhere. If you haven't been to a cafeteria in a while, try it out. If you've never considered cafeteria food, try it out. You may find the trip worth your while.

My first time eating at Luby's and all I can say is WOW! The food was fresh, piping hot and so good. I got the salmon and it was by far the best I've ever eaten. Yep, Luby's salmon tops some of the most ritzy restaurants. Highly recommend. Idk how they keep it so clean with as many people that pass through but it was spotless.

We arrived on foot over from the Hyatt Hotel Medical since it was the nearest restaurant within walking distance. The lady preparing the salads was courteous and fast ( salad was delicious). Now most of our food was cold. Okay regarding taste but cold. I wanted enchiladas as my entree, but it was Monday. I can only assume they don’t make them anymore or not on Mondays menu. The cashier had us there waiting to pay … never really acknowledged my family and I. Overall, okay experience but better places to eat in Houston.

Luby's has been a long-time favorite. The Luby's chain is a reliable choice when you want well-prepared comfort food -- the cafeteria format for ordering and receiving food is appealing, efficient, and speedy. In most locations, the dining room has attentive wait staff to provide you with extras (condiments, butter, etc.) and refills on drinks. This location was very busy on a Sunday evening, but the dining room staff was friendly and attentive, never missing a beat.

Prices went up some since I was there last,,, but, everything has, so not too bad. Food was really good & service was GREAT. I didn't realize that the service you get when you sit down, is considered "wait staff. Y'all remember to tip these folks, they work really hard to make your meal so good & you don't have to get up for little odds & ends, or drink refills, & they only make $2.00 an hr.

My neighbor and I experienced a bit of miscommunication with the line workers - our orders were incorrect. However; management resolved the issue quickly, in a pleasantly proffesion manner, and to our mutual satisfaction. Thanks Luby's!
