Wasn’t expecting much from a cafe in the park. But wow. Everything about this place was surprisingly good. In fact, it was the best Chicken Caesar wrap I’ve ever had. Service was swift and coffee delicious. Again, I didn’t expect much but they so dramatically over-delivered I had to leave a review.

Cute little spot for lunch or breakfast outdoors, just above the ballfields.

A place well – loved by young parents, whose kids practice at the Ballfields, sports fans and participants alike, the Ballfields Café is one of Central Park’s premium locations. It is a place with rich traditions and millions of fans. Its close proximity to one of the park’s centers is just a small part of the Café’s popularity. We bet you know the lovable cottage near the Heckscher Ballfields. It was firstly intended to be changing room for boys who played baseball and cricket. It was designed by Calvert Vaux himself. Today this is the Ballfields Café. It is a very popular destination due to its proximity to the above-mentioned Ballfields, and to the fact that they serve breakfast and lunch, that fit perfectly any taste and dietary plan. You can pick from a rich menu of sandwiches, munchies, salads, and grilled cheese. The drinks menu is on par with the food one, with a great variety of coffee, tea, smoothies, crepes, and the widely popular bubble tea, that are considered the place’s special. They also serve alcoholic drinks, including beer, cider, wine and cocktails. Either if you want to have some rest after an intensive game, or set your mind for victory in an upcoming one, then you definitely must visit Ballfields Café.

Just happened upon this place while exploring Central Park, and while its not some fancy, pricey restaurant, it’s still good. We started with some pulled pork sliders, and these 3 sliders could’ve easily made 2 whole sandwiches. They didn’t skimp on the pulled pork and it was great, a good value. The chicken sandwich with jalapeño jack was average, but still good. The waiter was accompanying and polite, and the scenery only adds to the overall ambiance of this place.
