Lovely restaurant situated in a residential area. Wasn't sure what to expect but we was pleasantly surprised with the freshness and quality of the food and also the attentiveness of the staff. The staff was so friendly and super attentive. The food was delicious will definitely be back again.

I love The Fish restaurant! This is the restaurant where I learned to eat raw sushi years ago! The salmon nigiri and sashimi are really fresh and tasty. I really enjoy their volcano dish! The miso soup is overpriced but itās good too. Excellent service and friendly employees!

Service was great. Shout out to JC. The midtown roll was absolutely delicious. I can't remember all of the ingredients, but I do recall that it flavorful and had a great texture. We also tried a few other dishes, all of which were excellent. Everything was fresh and expertly prepared, and we left feeling full and satisfied. Our food arrived quickly and we never felt rushed or neglected.
Another thing that stood out was the speed of the service.

This restaurant is our go to place for date nights in midtown. I'm so glad that they survived Covid-19 as well. Their sashimi are fresh and great. Shoi and Shoi 2.0 are yummy. The appetizers are delicious! Prices are on point but they also have reverse happy hour. The service are quick and amazing. Atmosphere is very cool and quaint. Everything is 5 star!!!

"The Fish" has a creative mix of local sushi rolls and classic nigiri, all prepared incredibly well. The small plates also caters for a variety of tastes with the miso code being my favourite.
The mix of solid service, casual atmosphere and quality of food is worth a visit the next time you're in mid town Houston.

There are many criteria to examine a dining experience: taste, ambiance, service, price, and so on but one often neglected aspect is service recovery.
I have been visiting 4-5 sushi joints in town and I keep coming back to The Fish for excellent taste, good ambiance, value, and solid service. For example, look no further for calamari and tuna tataki. I decided to try something new and ordered the wagyu (Kobe) beef on hot rocks. As the pictures show, the presentation is exquisite and mouth-watering. Unfortunately, the taste was not up to par. I cook plenty filet mignon on grill and sous vide so I expected a buttery-melt-in-your-mouth delicacy from a wagyu. It was so chewy like flank steak despite only searing it for few seconds. At first, I thought I must have messed up, but the second piece had a chunk of tendon in it. There must have been an error somewhere. I informed the well-dressed man at the desk but he just turned away and pointed at the server. That was not professional I thought. However, the server asked me what went wrong, graciously consulted the kitchen and then took it out of the order. I was impressed to say the least. She represents the Fish's excellent service and commitment for customer satisfaction. I should be back to try the ribeye. Thank you for solid service as always.

Love love this place. Eat here about 3 times a week when in town. They do a great job, great prices and very personable if you are š. Sashimi Salmon is the best. Very silky smooth. Crab puffs a must!!! Highly recommend!!!

The fish is a great place to eat! Wednesday, the waitress, took care of all our needs and definitely the food and drinks were absolutely immaculate! Definitely one of the best Sunday Fundays we've had here, Kobe Burger by far one of the best staples in the restaurant industry!!

The service was excellent, and the environment was peaceful on a Saturday! I ordered calamari as an appetizer, which was well seasoned and tasty, and then ordered the Black Widow. The Black Widow was great, and I have no complaints! Eating all of the food was a great experience to have, and this restaurant is a go-to for sushi! Great job!

The lobster cream cheese appetizer is the best appetizer Iāve ever had at any restaurant. Hands-down! For this reason I will continue to come to this restaurant over and over again year after year and I pray that they never go out of business! The baked lobster sushi roll was absolutely amazing as well! I have never had anything bad at this restaurant everything is always amazing definitely the top of my list for sushi restaurants.

Yesterday was our first time at The Fish. Great experience, we ordered small plates, amazing flavors, and the service was spectacular. The waiter, a young guy, made our dinner special, told us about the happy hoursā¦ didnāt get his name, but will ask for him our next time. Water service was top class! Full cups every timeā¦.

The place wasn't that crowded, so I didn't understand why it took so long to get our orders placed, so long to get refills, so long to get the check. The fried rice could be crisper with more flavor. The sushi was simply the best I have had.

Got their gyu steak and it tasted very good. The food came a bit late though. The location is very good and they have plenty of seatings indoor and out. Very vibrate place. They have happy hours and i have tried they tiger eye roll, California roll and their wing and ut was all good. Their service could be a bit better though.

Everything was delicious and Mike, our server, was exceptional. The Lychee Martini was really good. The sushi was on point. The lobster crab puffs were a great appetizer. Even the dipping sauce for the lobster crab puffs was amazing.

The sushi is excellent. We had spicy tuna roll amazing. We also had unagi, shrimp and peppericon tuna. The pepper icon tuna had a smoke flavor but raw that was amazing. Their take on sushi is fresh.

Their lobster cream cheese rolls are AMAZING!!! Best appetizer I've ever had at any restaurant period! Their avocado stuffed steak rolls in the bento box lunch deal is out of this world! I think I would die if this place closed down there's no other place like it in Houston

First time there. Loved reverse happy hour. The lyched martini was ok. A little bland. The citrus smash cocktail was excellent. Thespicy edemame, and the crab puffs were amazing. The black widow roll was nothing out of the usual. Not their best. However the "The Fish" roll has to be one of my all time favorite sushi rolls ever. Love the location and the ambiance. I'm a huge fan of Blue Fish in downtown, however I am willing to drop by here once in a while.

This is our FAVORITE place to eat sushi!! Every chance the hubby and I get alone this is where we go eat. You cant beat their happy hour, the service is awesome, and food is delicious. We even went once with our two small kids and they made a rice just for them to eat (not on the menu) to accommodate us. I recommend you try it!
