The perfect cheap eats
I drive by here at least a few times a week and finally today made the stop. And I was delighted.
The food is simply but tasty. As you walk in, the spring rolls are packed for choosing. If you are fancy the fried spring roll they are on the corner of the display case. The selection is great range from chicken/pork to tofu. If you want a true Asian spring roll the 3-pack (can remember what it is called) that has Asian cured sausage, egg, dried shrimp, is the best.
Food selection is great. Be aware the quantity is Texasized: massive. All for 6 to 7 dollars which is quite fantastic. Bun mi here is very tasty, although no beef option.
One thing I highly recommend is tofu anything here. In general tofu dishes are bland but the tofu here is seasoned so you taste it.
Happy eating!

We came here for lunch just about 30 minutes after opening but the line was already long. However it’s moving fast. Most customers just ordered to-go instead of dine-in. Their price is very cheap and even cheaper than in Vietnamese town in Bellaire. All dishes are very delicious and huge. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to try Vietnamese food.

Just wow. Can’t believe sandwiches as amazing as these exist in Texas. The banh mi are prepared on crispy, fresh baguettes, with the crunchiest of veggies and tender, flavorful pork. The shop is super clean and staff are following health and safety guidance. Prices can’t be beat! I’ll be back, many times.

So affordable we literally did a double take looking between the food on the tables and the prices on the menu. Yes, you'll be full of great, simple Vietnamese food for $5. It's nothing new or groundbreaking, but for healthy food and massive portions you can't go wrong here.

This is a classic Htown dive...their Banh Mi is the best n town for the price and they will put a fried egg on it..yum...and they have some great traditional sweet cakes that lots of places don’t have...their Pho is average and so is their Bun...I only come here for the sandwiches...great eclectic mix of patrons and quick, casual joint...line is often out the door but moves quick! Usually grab the coffee to go as it’s tasty...

Very chill place, food is great and there is usually a short wait. Their sandwiches are very savory and filling, but their coffee is a tad bit too sour. Their soda machine is just a paper weight but at least they have various drink offerings from a fridge nearby. Definitely a place for a quick cheap lunch.
Update June 2018:
I keep coming back here often. It’s always good and they cleaned up the place a bit. They finally took the soda machine out!

Went here for lunch on a Tuesday and it was packed! Which is a great sign because the food most be good and fresh.... And it definitely was. The bo bia was delicious, not like my mom but still very delicious. I was actually so full after that I couldn't eat my banh mi dac biet. I left with that and a roasted pork with pate for consumption later in the day. Oh, and the Vietnamese iced coffee is great here!

I had beef stew rice noodle soup, chargrill bbq pork vermicelli, and chargrill bbq pork sandwich. Quick service at around 4.30pm. All dishes were delicious, very generous portion, good price. I enjoyed it.

Love every element of Les Givral’s :)
Had to try all three banh mis: shredded chicken, tofu, bbq pork.
Tofu is a good veggie option.
Pork was a bit salty.
Chicken was soft and well marinated.

Super cheap prices and great Vietnamese food right in Midtown. I believe they only accept cash and it's no big deal for me.
The pho is delicious and their rolls are awesome, just walk in and they're literally ready for you. You order a Bahn Mi and it's prepped and served to you in 3-5 mins. Those guys prepping know good service.
Please never change.

This place is seriously awesome. Where else can you get a great banh mi for 3 bucks in the downtown area? Seriously, you can't beat it. I came here for lunch with a friend and this place is so popular, you'll find yourself outside the door waiting in line before the noon crowd even comes. However, they do have pretty fast service, so you wait a reasonable amount of time.

The best banh mi spot in Houston - and right near Downtown, so perfect location. I go probably weekly.
Get a pate and bbq pork banh mi, with a soy milk, cafe sua da or crysanthemum tea. Or if you’re feeling vermicelli instead, go for it. They can do no wrong. If you’re lucky enough to get an egg roll before 6pm, snatch one up.

Shout out to my cousin for telling me about this gem. 😊
When I think about bahn mi..i think of crispy bread that flakes everywhere when you eat it. Fresh veggies. Simple and delicious meat options. And Les Givrals delivers just that...and some UHMAZING looking pho that I will try next visit. I had the shredded chicken bahn mi ...so simple. So elegant. So PEPPERY!!! I love it. Slightly sweet? Idk so good. Line was long but moved fast. This is an easy choice if I'm close by from now on.

Les Grival is a diamond in the rough. When looking for cheap eats this gem is on the top of my list. Prices have increased over the years but you can still obtain your very own Bánh Mí sandwitch for around 3 bucks. I recommend the Thit Nuong, a sweet BBQ chargrilled pork #2, or the Bo Nuong, chargrilled beef #12. If your in the mood for soup, their Pho Tái, beef soup, or Pho Tái Bo Vien, beef with meatballs, is a excellent choice. For a larger meal their Bún, a Vietnamese rice noodle, or their Com, rice bowl, come in hearty portion sizes. You can order Com Chiên for a more traditional fried rice, choose your favorite meat for any of the above dishes. If your in the area Les Grival is well worth trying.
