Delicious food, great spot in the Downtown Tunnels. The fried chicken was seasoned and juicy!! Loved the gravy. The red beans and rice were flavorful and the added piece of sausage is a must. My coworker tried the chocolate cake and it looked amazing!! I’m definitely returning soon on my lunch break!
I've been out of the energy business for a very long time so have had no reason to travel downtown. I can safely say that after 15+ years, the food is STILL superb at Treebeard's in the tunnel. The chicken & sausage gumbo paired beautifully with the jalapeño cornbread. It was like popping into a time machine to go revisit some culinary bliss!

This was my first time here and I must say the food was well prepared and delicious. I had the chicken fried chicken with rice, gravy, and some veggies. The chicken and veggies were absolutely tender. When I say the veggies were tender, they were not hard when I ate them. At the same time, they were not soft, but cooked just right. 👍🏽 The rice was cooked very nice and consistent. It was right on time. I'm definitely going to be back. Cheers!
We stopped in for lunch on a Friday and I enjoyed the baked catfish with crawfish etouffee and my wife liked the seafood gumbo. The staff were extremely friendly and the whole establishment is very clean and welcoming.
Me and a couple guys from work have went here several times for lunch. The food is good and even with long lines it goes really fast. If you want a cajun style meal that's quick this is the place to go. Come try the gumbo and the corn bread l.
