This was my first time having a Velvet taco.
I chose one grilled salmon taco and one roasted chicken taco.
The seasonings are wonderful and the salmon and chicken are delicious. The trimmings of fresh chili's and corn are nice.
Presentation is nice.
What I didn't like was the funky, off-putting smell (like stale beer at a bar) that hits you when you enter the shop, as well as the tables. Yuck
Service up front, when ordering was friendly, other employees were snooty.
I ordered some chips and guacamole along with a 14.5 shrimp taco and a 1 buffalo chicken taco. Really enjoyed the shrimp taco and forgot I’m not into the buffalo wings flavor, though it was OK. My daughter got the tofu and paneer tacos and liked them. Service was great. One of the counter guys checked in with us during the middle of our meal to see if all was OK. Parking was convenient. I would go back again.
Nice location, had four tacos from each category (beef, chicken, pork, fish). Each taco was delicious to where the flavor is still dancing on my tongue. Service was great and quick with orders. Would love to come here again, or maybe just make a new location in Memphis 😅
Velvet Taco is a fantastic spot for delicious food at a reasonable price. It's the kind of place that feels like a special treat, making it perfect for occasional indulgence. The brisket taco and flank steak options are absolute standouts, offering a delightful combination of flavors and textures. Whether you're a taco aficionado or just looking for a satisfying meal, Velvet Taco is a must-try.
I ordered the buffalo chicken and chimichurri tacos. The food was absolutely delicious. I was a little disappointed that the chicken was like one big chicken tender inside a tortilla versus it being cut up into pieces. Regardless, the food was amazing, the service was great and the atmosphere was inviting. Presentation for the food (to-go container) was a fun little touch, too and made it easier to eat on the run. I would definitely return!
If your looking for something light this would be it These Taco be so good I had order the waffle and chicken taco ,salmon taco and shrimp tacos they be $5 + each but it worth every penny
Order-first, open kitchen/prep concept. The menu descriptions make you want to try one of everything. Especially if you’ve come with hunger pains.
Tried #11 Grilled flank steak, #11.5 Chimichurri steak, and #12 Slow-roasted angus brisket. Wife and I put those down like they were bite-sized. These tacos are not bite-sized by any means. Healthy-sized with decent amount of meat and plethora of toppings.
Ordered one plain #10 Kobe Smash Burger for the kiddo. She smashed two of those!!!
Will return as there are chicken and pork items that are must-tries.
5 out of 5 for sure. The Cauliflower taco and the Queso dip.....my goodness. They were full of such flavor! I was actually shocked at how delicious everything was. The slight crisp in the taco and the bold flavors in the queso......I'm craving them!
Idk how to start! This place is so good!! I tried all their vegetarian taco and they all are so good. My favorite one is Nashville hot tofu. Also it might seems the taco are little expert but it’s well worth it. Also it’s pretty good size for the price. They have varieties of sitting. You can sit indie, outside or upstair. We love upstairs since you could have the street view. I highly Recommend this place for vegetarians people.
Velvet tacos are probably one of the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life. the staff are very friendly and very nice especially because we came in at 2 AM in the morning another perk is there open late like I said. You definitely have to try the chipotle pull pork taco
