Excellent Japanese restaurant serving a very rare menu item Oyako Domburi (chicken) and Katsu Domburi (breaded pork) Excellent!
Great selection of Sake hit/cold. Has a Typical Japanese tatami room but also traveled, booths and counter seating for sushi.
Only issue was having Broccoli and a potato salad served with their Teriyaki dinner.
This restaurant serves very good food though a bit geared to gaigin tastes
I went there for the first time with a friend to have lunch. We both loved it, the food & service was great! The server was also kind to let us know what some of the things on the menu were. Food came out in a timely manner and the place looked very clean. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the fried calamari, to me it lacked some flavor but overall I enjoyed it and will definitely be going back!
Sushi was very good. Please is really clean and quite. Will be back!!
Our server Kevin was wonderful. The food arrived very fast even though they were somewhat busy. The quality of food was exceptional. We will be back again!
Really good, deliscious and beautifully presented. It's not inexpensive. The only one $ is wrong. Should be $$$. Highly recommended!
Some of the best sushi I have had in Houston. Also one of most traditional/authentic I've been to. My waitress actually knew what I was talking about when I used the Japanese names for the fish.
Extremely fresh sushi. This place has great sushi, we've stopped going to other sushi restaurants since we discovered it. The fact that the place has a heavy Japanese clientele says a lot about its quality and authenticity.
Pleasantly surprised. Very fresh, very friendly, excellent!
Freshest, best sushi in Houston. The toro, hamachi, and tai are especially good. The pepper tuna sashimi is the best I've had. Even the miso soup is excellent. If you don't like this place, you don't like sushi!
Always the best sushi in town. Consistent and u don't have to dress up either. Plenty of parking and the average ticket is 20 a person follow me on trip advisor under AUSAGUY007 for all my reviews
A well known Japanese authentic sushi house in the old memorial drive neighborhood. It’s food is always authentic & satisfying. My recent visit was a little surprise to me. Not knowing if it’s a Wednesday night or hiring the best wait staff is a wide spread challenge! I always get the fotomaki and tomago there since not all Japanese restaurants would serve them. They are still good but just not spectacular any more. There are many newer & better places nearby. Izakaya Wa is just around the corner. Happy dinning.
This place has very nice staff, a good atmosphere, and delicious food. I was surprised to get as much ramen as I did here!
The sushi is very fresh and extremely good. I was particularly pleased with the tuna and eel!
The seaweed was very fresh and the Angus cut steak was delicious and tender. Overall, great place. Pretty pricey but you get a good deal for your buck!
Nice quiet place for sushi that’s absolutely delicious! The whole staff is so kind and welcoming. I would recommend to anyone looking for sushi in the energy corridor area!

This was the closest thing to being back in Japan and felt truly authentic. Loved the unique variety of traditional and classic Japanese items, some of which were new even to us. Some of our menu highlights were gyoza (both the shrimp and pork variety), chirashi bowl- theirs had the most variety we've seen anywhere, massive avocado roll and pork ramen. The kids chicken teriyaki came with a large plate of tempura that included 2 large shrimp, asparagus, sweet potato and onion. Topped off with traditional kasugai muscat gummies at the end. Overall fantastic dining experience and great service.
This place has awesome sushi rolls. My favorite is the tornado roll. The bento box is ok except for the shrimp tempura coating. I like mine to have a crunch. The coating was a little soft. The ginger sauce is amazing. Our waitress was slow in checking on us after food delivery. I had to ask for the check and a pen.
This restaurant gives me the authentic Japan feel when I walk in. Just like any Japanese restaurant, they give you a warm towel to clean your hands.
I orders uni sushi, salmon skin hand rolls (off menu item), Canada rolls. The portion is great comparing to its price. However, I feel like the fish wasn't fresh that day. It's not like they use old fish but it doesn't taste as fresh as other places I have been to.
I will still come back to support them if I run errands near the spot.
What I love about this place:
*Tables are separated by screens
*Restroom is very clean. They have air disinfectant that plugs in to keep the air clean.
*hot warm towel
*server are really nice
Bonus: I love how they have a Japanese traditional dining room if you need privacy for your group. Love it. Will definitely considering this place for next group gathering once it's safe to do.
One of my daughter’s favorite places for sushi. One kewl thing about this restaurant is that they have traditional rooms for private parties.
Check out all the awesome sushi… plus good food for the non-sushi lover.
Be sure to bring your wallet.
This is our new favorite sushi spot! We came in with a large group of 9 and they took amazing care of our table and all of the food was fresh and delicious! Best escolar I have ever had!! I cannot wait to come back. Definitely try their dumplings and sunshine roll!
I think we were a bit under-dressed for the usual business crowd after a long hot day running errands all over the city, but the staff was always ever gracious and welcoming. We used to come here for special events twenty and thirty years ago, and I am pleased that very little has changed. Still the best Japanese food I have experienced in Texas. The bento special is served on those fantastic lacquered trays with a little bit of everything, a great default choice for anyone new to Japanese food.
