Review Nobie's - Houston

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Houston - we always go here for special occasions and it has never disappointed! The service is impeccable and the atmosphere is so cozy since it’s in a renovated, little house. Had the big mac oysters tonight and they were incredible!

Went here for dinner to celebrate our friend's birthday! Reservations highly recommended. Consider that you will have to look a few blocks around for to find a parking space. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The ambience indoors is a little dark and loud music but the vibes are good. Not a usual Texas-sized spacious restaurant. Service is decent - our server was a little pushy when it came to ordering and cleaning up the space at the end. Coming to food and drinks - absolutely loved the drinks. They customized a few cocktails and mocktails for us - the drinks were delicious. Their winter libations were good too. The drinks were boozy, not too cold or loaded with ice and the quantity was good. Honestly the food options are not too many to select from. Dilly bread was something we wanted to try but they were running out. We tried greek-a-leak, carrot kid, brussel sprouts, nonnos pasta and squash. A lot of their dishes contain some good cheese options. Definitely recommend the carrot and squash. Lots of vegetarian options to select from. A little expensive for the quantity but the food quality is good. The olive oil cake is a must try! Overall it was a good experience!

We have been here at least half a dozen times over the past 6 or so months. The food here is always top notch! I love that the menu changes consistently so we never get tired of going. The winner winner chicken dinner and nonno's pasta are permanent fixtures on the menu for a reason. The chicken is simple but so crispy and juicy, I love it so so much. Service here is always great and the ambiance of the dining space is very casual and laid back. Do note that this is not a quiet restaurant. I never struggle to hear my dining companions but if you are dining with someone that is hard of hearing this probably won't be your jam.

Top quality food. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese which was delicious and the Olive Oil Pound Cake as well. I highly recommend both. The next time I go I will try the fried chicken dinner. The service was friendly and efficient. All the food I saw looked delicious and well prepared.

The food was excellent and so were the drinks. I have to tell you, the service stole the whole damn show. First timers, so I had to go in to ask where to park. There's some parking behind the restaurant and street parking (I think). What really made me love this place was the people. The friendly and kind people who work at Nobie's make it what it is. We enjoyed each dish and the people who stopped at our table to wish us a great evening. Vibes: fun, friendly, everyone knows your name (obvs they did not - first time - felt like they knew us tho), great music We had: Oysters Beer battered sweet tots with goat cheese Nonno's pasta Charlie & the pasta factory Olive Oil cake Cookies and Cream pie Cocktails: Old-fashioned, side car, the teaches of peaches Can't wait for the next time!

First time at Nobie’s and we were definitely impressed! Our favorite dishes were the Texas Tartare and the Charlie and the Pasta Factory. The ambiance and service was wonderful and we will definitely be back to try more dishes!

Nobie’s has earned a special place in my heart, much like a long-lasting crush. Ever since I first set foot inside, I've been smitten by their culinary prowess, particularly when it comes to vegan/vegetarian options. They're one of the few places I trust to whip up a delightful green feast. Now, let's spill the tea about their sibling joint, The Toasted Coconut. It's like the inked sibling of restaurants in Houston—undeniably cool and the cocktails &food is always Bom! After much deliberation, I've come to realize that Toasted Coconut might just be aiming for the coveted number one spot second to Nobie’s. The ambiance is captivating and all that but hey, this is about Nobies, where I recently had an incredible dinner while introducing someone to this gastronomic gem. Everything was exceptional, except for one minor hiccup. The music they played was cranked up to eleven, and unfortunately, the N-word made its way into one of the songs. Being the only black patron at that time, it did make me squirm a bit. However, I understand that they play a diverse range of music all the time, not just when I'm there. So, I brushed it off, but if things were different, I'd definitely raise an eyebrow. In a nutshell, despite that small blip, I've never had a negative experience at this restaurant. They cater to all tastes, and I genuinely appreciate that.

Whether meeting new friends or old, Nobies is your spot for great food and great service. The ambience is cool and chill and reminds of my own house, listening to some of the very same records. Our meal started with the bread (yes, commenting on the bread we started with as it was that good!!) which had just a hint of dill and was soft and doughy and prepared today. Paired well with the garlic butter and row. First row and of drinks - which I had the watermelon cocktail. Perfect for the weather this week with the temps topping over 100! Up next was the beef tartare. Good, however I think it could use a bit more capers or picked onions or gerkins to add a bit more salt. That said, it was still fantastic as it melted in mouth. Next carrots. Ho-ly cow were these good. Probably my favorite dish of the night. At this point I was starting to get full. Pasta Was also served at this point. The noodles were perfectly cooked al dente pairing well with the red sauce. I'd be interested to see what the pasta would taste like if it was served with all the red sauce and perhaps some fresh tomatoes and basil. We use the leftover sauce from the carrots to eat of the rest of the pasta which was THE RIGHT CALL. Up next was the cauliflower which was very unexpected as it came out looking more like a pork chop then cauliflower. Unfortunately ran out of room and was not able to enjoy dessert. However, will be back to try next time. I hear the olive oil cake is fantastic. A nod to my friend, the queen of yum who brought me here for my first time. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the offerings.

A good friend set up a casual dinner for 6 here on a Sunday night. I really loved it. Walking in I was kind of surprised at how loud the 90’s music was but the sound was fantastic and created a wonderful vibe. We had drinks at the small bar before sitting down. The food was great. The wine was great. The warm, friendly, hip service even better. I understand it is very difficult to get a reservation but it is worth the effort.
