Review Green Vegetarian Cuisine - Houston

07/09/17 The hubby and I came here for lunch after our workout. As always service was stellar!! We had Max as our waiter and he was AMAZING!!! Attentive and super friendly. The food was delicious. We started with the cauliflower hot wings. I would always recommend these to everyone- they are freaking delicious! The hubby got the Deluxe Burger but swapped the soy patties for their homemade chickpea patties and a side of sweet potato fries. I had the Green Burger- a chickpea patty with crushed avocado, lettuce, tomato and a side of kale. I'm not a huge fan of the chickpea patty. It was tasty but a little too dry and heavy for me. The hubby recommends their tamarind water. It's delicious and refreshing. Green Vegetarian you'll always be our vegan/vegetarian spot. 01/13/17 Had the usual cauliflower hot wings to start. Those were good as always. Tried the deluxe burger for the first time and while it wasn't bad, I wasn't really impressed and a bit disappointed. I got it with a side of kale salad. The burger has 2 beefless patties, sauteed mushrooms and onions, avocado and melted cheese all on a bun. It's a freaking huge burger!! I think the patties were the let down for me. They were blah tasting. They were definitely store bought (I think it might have been the Boca brand) and not made in house. It lacked flavor and tasted like the typical soy/vegan burger that every non-vegan or non-vegetarian person would say tastes like cardboard. Don't get me wrong, it's far from cardboard, but if you're trying to get a friend to go vegan or vegetarian, I wouldn't have them try this burger. Overall, if the patties were tastier it would have been a banging burger. 10/30/16- went here for brunch and the food was, as usual, delicious. I had the vegan option of the avocado eggs benedict (comes with breakfast tots) which is made with tofu, and the sweet potato pancakes with chocolate chips and freshly squeezed orange juice. I ended up taking the pancakes home since the eggs benedict was so filling. Service was top notch and our server, Jeffrey was friendly and very attentive. Staff is super friendly, service is quick and top notch. I highly recommend the cauliflower hot wings and sweet potato fries for the appetizer. I had the falafel bowl- it was super filling and so delicious! I would recommend this place to all vegetarians and vegans. #LocalGuides

The vegetarian food here is great! I've been here a few times now, and had the buffalo cauliflower, nachos, fish 'n chips, chicken parmesan, jalapeno cheese burger, and the steak quesadilla. The meat substitute is very good; I would highly recommend the jalapeno cheese burger. One concern I have with this place is that while the wait staff is very friendly, the wait times are a little bit long. The last time I was there, our table ordered 1 appetizer and 2 dishes. The appetizer was served after our entrees (and I did have to remind our server that we had ordered it), and the appetizer we were served had been sitting on the counter for a good 5 minutes or so. Overall, food is good, but it seems a little disorganized.

This restaurant was one of the places I truly missed when I moved from San Antonio, so I thought I had died and gone to heaven when this gem opened in Bellaire. My only complaint is that the parking is kind of tight, but you can solve that by carpooling and taking an Uber. They make the best sweet potato fries I have ever eaten. The bowls are delicious, and they have gluten-free desserts.

WOW!!!! WOW!!! THE BEST VEGETARIAN CUISINE, BURGER AND SALAD SHOP IN THE AREA!!! Green Vegetarian Cuisine is outstanding!!! The staff in this contemporary restaurant is super friendly and very knowledgeable. They can answer all you questions about their full menu of vegetarians appetizers and entrees and desserts. The cauliflower wings and from scratch homemade sauces were amazing!! The house burger was unbelievable!!! Whatever you order well be fresh and bursting with flavor! They even serve a vegan brunch on Sundays!!! Murilan, our server was the best ambassador ever!! This is a must visit...it will be a regular stop for me! Thank you Green Vegetsrian Cuisine!

GVC is literally one of our favorite joints in the area! A Vegetarian Restaurant that offers everything to be vegan! Yes Sir! We celebrate my wifes birthday every year here; thats per her request. She usually get the chicken parm & equally loves the side salad! This time we got Drum roll please... Biscuits & Gravy with scrambled tofu & hashbrowns! Yes! My favorite breakfast & sometimes meal; this is a daily special so it is not always on the menu. Along with a Chicken Fried Steak meal with Mash Potatos & Greens. Also a daily special & not always on the menu. Both were fabulous & we would get them everytime! Highly recommend this place! Get there... now! Thank you Green Vegetarian Cuisine for offering Vegan Options!

Geeeeez this place is ridiculously good! I never knew cauliflower could taste like that!! Herbavore and carnivore alike will be satisfied and amazed. Great job of making a kosher restaurant with mass appeal - the place was busy on an off night with a really diverse crowd. Open one in Atlanta PLEASE??!

We just moved to Chimney Rock and today I had lunch here with my husband. We ABSOLUTELY loved it! The food was amazing and delicious! The place also had a great energy all around! However, my 5 star rating is for not only the food but for the great service we received. Maggie(if you are seeing this you rock!), was our server and she went above and beyond. Tomorrow is my birthday and being that they do have cupcakes I ventured out and asked if they sell cakes. It is not something they do BUT Maggie talked to her manager and guess what? My husband will be picking up a strawberry cake for me tomorrow! Maggie, you rock! Love love love this place we will definetly be back! P.S.- The sweet potato fries here are delicious.

TO EVERYONE: SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL VEGETARIAN PLACES! It's so nice to be able to go to a restaurant and have a WIDE VARIETY of yummy and filling entrees from which to choose. As opposed to other places who offer salad...or a side of mashed potatoes as "vegetarian" options. So, I originally found out about this place from an Instagram ad. Their food looked so delicious, so I decided I absolutely had to take the 45 minute drive (turned out to be more like 60 minutes--thanks 610 loop!). It was a convenient day to go; because it was my birthday, and I was meeting with some friends in the area. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess. She complimented my outfit, and I told her it was my birthday. As soon as we were seated, our server came over, wished me a happy birthday, and gave us the menus. He also made some yummy suggestions for drinks. We ended up getting one of the ones he suggested, and I was not disappointed! It was yummy. Our server was very attentive and thoughtful. I ordered the cauliflower hot "wings" and Chik'n fried burger with a side of sweet potato fries. SOOOOO GOOD. I was only disappointed by the fact that I couldn't eat it all. Toward the end of the meal, before bringing the checks, our server offered me a complimentary dessert for my birthday which he happily delivered in a to-go box. The atmosphere of the place is casual. The feel of the place is comfortable. You can tell that the employees are happy working with one another, and that creates a more home-y environment. Also, it is clear that they take great pride in their vegetarian/vegan dishes and offerings. COMPLIMENTS TO THE STAFF, MANAGEMENT, AND THE BACK OF HOUSE CREW! Keep up the great work. I will definitely be returning and urging others to go, as well.

Green is staffed by lovely, competent employees and usually filled with pleasant, approachable customers. I’m not Vegan, but my gf is (also works here, full disclaimer; I’ve eviscerated a few of her former employers though, so I don’t think I’m biased), so I’ve discovered how precious few restaurants like this there are in Houston. I, myself, find a few of the items especially tasty (usually, vegan food reads as bland and kind of a bummer, but I’ve probably only had bad vegetarian/vegan cuisine prior to eating here). Strong, strong recommendation for the vegan desserts - the cupcakes, especially, are moist and amazing and somehow taste totally norms to me. Great, great place for a date, especially if you find yourself dating a vegetarian/vegan person. The desserts are right up front in a case, too, meaning you can swing through and pick up considerate snacks for the office or household very easily. If you are a vegetarian, or if anyone you know is, this is a great place to check out! Sunday brunch is kind of their specialty, too, and that’s a particularly good time to give them a look.

Not a very central location but the food is good. I ordered a Mediterranean bowl for take out, it took them less than 10 minutes to get it ready, good flavors and ingredients, I just wish for more dressing on the veggies. I'm coming back to try other stuff. Prompt, friendly service. Small parking lot.

My favorite vegan restaurant !

This is hands down one of the best vegan/ vegetarian spots in htown! I go here on the regular and my friend goes several times in one day lol . The food is fresh and tastes like it is. The servers are great as well with Merlin being one of my favorites and also Chris these guys no customer service very well. Even if your not vegan or vegetarian still give this place a try! You will not be disappointed!! Highly recommended

It never ceases to amaze me how restaurants are constantly able to make gorgeous, saucy, chicken like appetizers out of cauliflower. Green Vegetarian Cuisine's fell right in line and were absolutely fantastic! The cauliflower bites were coated in a delicate layer of breading, fried, and swimming in a tangy, spicy buffalo sauce.

Yummy & fresh food. I got my order to-go, but plenty of food for the price (normally take-out portions are smaller, but I was filled up). I would definitely go again & try other items

My husband and I visited this cozy restaurant on our date night. The food was very tasty and fresh. The portions are huge. It is very well priced too. I loved the art work all around the restaurant. AJ took real good care of us. Must visit!

Holy kale, am I really outside the loop at a place like this? That's the question I had to ask myself as I walked into a vegan restaurant that is down the street from me in Bellaire. Young, old, thin, big, athletic, or just lucky, all types of people are represented.
The food is amazing, full of bold flavored and the plate presentation is not neglected. The wait staff is energetic, friendly, and patient to those of us that are not total vegan. Flavored water comes with fruit and is only 50cents.
I will be here every week at least once!!!

Awful new menu. Green's used to be the go-to place for our family. We would go a few times a week to enjoy the vegetarian and vegan fare. (And spend about $100 total) Then they changed the menu. Increased the prices. Instead of the nice chick-pea patties, they have atrocious fake TVP that tastes revolting. Lots of the favorites are gone.

Going back to the vegetarian restaurant on W. 19th. It's a further drive, but at least the food is decent.

Unique healthy food in Bellaire. I have been twice on Sunday afternoons. It has been busy, but the service has been very good. I tried the Big Nasty Burger and the Jalapeno Cheese Green Burger . They were both great, although I prefer the Big Nasty. They are huge. Both times I choose the side of steamed broccoli. It is a lot of food.
The Organic Black (iced) Tea is really something special.
The crowd is quite diverse... church groups, Jewish families and hipsters. Word is getting around.

Weird... My wife and I received a gift card here for our anniversary. We are both vegan and were excited to try it out having heard such great things from family and friends.

It must have been an off day for them because we were greeted immediately, and seated in a both and asked if we wanted drinks, ice or no ice, great start! Then we waited for our server... And waited... And waited.. the menu looked awesome but the more we waited the less hungry and excited we got and after 15 or so minutes decided we'd come back again another day and give it a try. Although slightly less excited.

I'll let y'all know how it goes next time.

On my favorite's list. I had the falafel wrap and kale salad. The falafel was light and the dressing for the kale salad was spot on! Had cupcake that was so good, it will be hard to resist getting another one when I return. Can't wait to go back and try the big nasty burger or the protein bowl. Also super excited about the location, that area needs something like this so those of us that live nearby don't have to trek all the way to the village, midtown or Montrose for something good to eat.

Mediterranean Bowl. I can't eat fried food so the falafel patties I couldn't eat them. The quinoa tabouli was very good and the kale salad as I said" it was awesome" !!

-----15 Aug, 2014-----

Mediterranean Bowl. It was delicious and what I liked the most of it was, the kale salad and the dressing.
It was out of this world !!!!! I wish you would create a dish of kale salad, tomatoes and couscous. It would be awesome !!!!!!!

I'm super ill because my food allergy was ignored by the waiter in the yamaka. Started off with the best cupcakes of my life. Things were great then my salad came, que burning in throat.
Swollen throat and living in the bathroom are not worth the fantastic cupcakes they have.

A Great Option. This is a terrific place for a light healthy meal. We were even able to invite our kosher friends to join us.

We arrived at 11am, which is the midweek opening time. We selected a table and were greeted quickly with a smile. The waitress was very helpful. She handed us our menus and took our drinks order.

I had recently ordered grilled cheese sandwiches at another place which was disappointing, so I decided to do a comparison and try Green's grilled cheese sandwiches. What an amazing wonderful difference. These were delicious.

Now we will return with our wives to enjoy more of their various choices.

Recommendation: Yes, definitely!

FRESH & TASTY. I tried six sides yesterday for the first time and they were fabulous! VERY fresh. The Kale was perfect though it has a bit of hotness to it so if you're not a fan of hot spices, this won't work for you. The rest of the sides were so great that I ate them all in one sitting!

:-)
Andrea
