Review Maison Pucha Bistro - Houston

What a great restaurant! When we walked in we were floored by how gorgeous the inside was. Very elegant and modern without feeling like it was too upscale. The hostesses was very nice and sat us close to the bar so we could take advantage of the happy hour specials. $7 -$8 drinks that were fantastic, $1 Gulf Coast oysters and $1.25 East Coast oysters, and a $30 14oz steak special that included fries. The service: literally top notch. So friendly and quick and everything you could want it to be. Atmosphere: like I said, gorgeous place. Food: okay, so the only critique I have is that the steak came out a bit overcooked than we asked for (we asked for med-rare and it was pretty much med-well). The steak tasted very good especially with the garlic butter and chimicuri, and even being med well was still quite tender. The shrimp ceviche- maybe it just wasn't what we should have ordered and other people would like it, but the the shimp were whole, the onions were sliced thin but long strips, and it was very juicy (like a bowl of juice) and served with plantains. Everything tasted good, just awkward to eat cause we had to cut up the shrimp. Drinks: really good. Highly recommend, can't wait to go back.

The place was nice and the waiter was wonderful. Unfortunately, I was not able to eat because the order had pork in it when I specifically said no bacon. They said they would replate it but the pork has already touched my food. The next option was to remake it and it would take too long so I just went without food. The waiter was very apologetic and kind given the situation. I ordered the duck.

This was such a great experience! The restaurant has a wonderful up-scale atmosphere with excellent service from the moment you walk in! Everyone was super friendly; all of the food was prepared with great detail and the flavors were incredible! They have great deals like a happy hour with a excellent pricing on oysters, drinks, and much more! Check out their menu for more information. You’ll want to make this a frequent stop on your Houston food adventures!

Our favorite place for happy hour oyster. $1 gulf and $1.25 east coast. Best price in Houston. It’s all day Tue,Wed & Sun. And don’t forget the wagyu burger which is amazingly delicious.

I want to rate this place 5 stars but the forced valet parking really ruins the initial guest experience. If you’re forcing your guests to valet, incorporate the cost of this service into the operational costs of the restaurant and increase the prices. It’s a zero value add to me as a customer. Food and service was excellent though.

The Lamb trio was excellent! As was the surf and turf. The gougeres were not very cheesy. The escargot were not very garlicky and the ceviche had a strong citrus flavor bot no heat. The service was great

To get the full experience of the entire food menu plan your visit during dinner. They have a happy hour menu with a very limited selection of French fusion with Ecuadorian. Our Server was "kind enough" to let us order from the full menu. I requested to change an alcoholic beverage I didn't like and the waiter replied he'd have to charge me for another drink (that was unaccommodating and a bit rude) I guess you better like it or be ready to pony up because they don't accommodate) Now the positive: The place is beautifully decorated, with warm lighting and great music (no live music but still had good music playing). The food and drinks had a very nice presentation. The Beef empanadas were a great option so we're the oysters. The steak and fries were good but the ravioli was ok. So next time you're in the heart of the Heights, stop by and taste for yourself.

I tried this restaurant a few months ago and I was so impressed I invited my family to try it out. We were there on 11/25 we had a great experience and they loved the food. The waiter James I believe was his name had the nerve to check his tip and say that it wasn’t enough. I’ve never had an employee say that to me let alone check it before the patrons left. My check was $165 and I gave him a $20 tip as did the other guest on their receipt. This really didn’t sit well with us upon leaving. I told him what I tip is based off of the service and I explained that the first time I was there I tipped the waitress $50. He was very rude at this point but we we’re already leaving.

This place is definitely a 10/10. My bartender's name was Victoria and she is a very kind person and helped me with anything I needed. Chef Juan was great, he presented this lovely pumpkin pie dessert that was smoked... Delicious. Did mention the Happy Hour.. This place is def made for the oyster lovers. Go check them out.

Visited for the first time during Houston Restaurant Weeks. Beautiful cocktails 🍸 with delicious, generous, and artfully presented food. The service was outstanding and unpretentious.

A wonderful place, especially for the attention of Victoria the waitress, a very sweet and attentive young woman. The food was delicious and the oysters were fresh.

We were in Houston for a week and ate out for most of the meals. This was by far the best meal we had and the service was exceptional. This will be very hard to top in any City. Save room for dessert but order even if you don't have room. Really cool drinks too.

Mine and my wife’s new favorite restaurant in Houston. Been here twice and both times we have experienced incredible service and great food. Happy hour until 7 with $1 oysters at the bar and 1/2 priced bottles of wine. Def recommend.

The food was great but the customer service could use some work. The vent was leaking a little bit on me and the waiter gave the wrong food two times in a row. Overall, great restaurant and amazing food.
