Tucked away near Hobby Airport, you’ll find a hidden gem - Central Texas Barbecue. At first glance, you might miss it, but believe me, this discovery was a delightful chance encounter. As soon as you step in, you’re enveloped by its cozy, authentic ambiance. A genuine testament to family-owned establishments, they greet every customer with warm, heartfelt smiles that instantly make you feel at home.
Their operating hours are limited, only from 10 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday, but this exclusivity only adds to the allure. Working nearby, I’ve had the pleasure to indulge in their offerings quite frequently, and it’s been a treat every single time. While their entire menu boasts of freshness and flavor, the sliced brisket sandwich stands out. Each bite is a symphony of smoky tenderness, juicy meat, and perfectly paired barbecue sauce, truly mouthwatering and leaving you craving for more.
In a world of commercial eateries, Central Texas Barbecue serves not just great food but an experience. Don’t just take my word for it; give it a try, and thank me later!
Delicious food and the service is fast. I couldn’t finish the potato, as you can see it’s huge. I was in and out in around 5 minutes!
Fast, tasty, and full. The place is a bit dirty, but I'm rooting for them to scale up to a restaurant as bug as their food deserves

Tuesday early lunch.
Just came out of the airport after an early morning flight and stopped for some lunch.
The parking area warns you to lock your car and take all your valuables, we were one of only a few cars so it was a bit concerning but the reviews were awesome so we kept moving. Everywhere we have gone in Houston has these signs so ...
So glad we did ...
The lunch special we got includes 1 meat, 2 sides and a tea. The serving sizes are huge and so tasty.
We had the pulled pork, broccoli & rice casserole, green beans, cabbage, cole slaw and Turkey. Loved it all ! Watched someone eat ribs and they were falling-off-the-bone, we want those next time!

Loved the A La Carte Deluxe (all the meat) and sweet tea. Close to the airport and tasted amazing! Deluxe comes with Chicken, Roast Beef, Ribs, Turkey, Sausage (jalapeño or regular, I got 1/2 and 1/2), and pickles and onion. I got it with BBQ sauce poured over the top. Sliced bread was provided too. The chicken was my surprise favorite and was so juicy and literally fell off the bones. Quick, good price, and large quantity.
Hole in the wall with history. Good bbq and really friendly service. Sliced beef was a tiny bit tough but really flavorful. Sausage was excellent. Overall, had a good experience.
Friend had bread pudding and said it was the highlight for him
Great service, the ham was really good and jalapeño sausage. Very cozy place. Bread is self serve by the fountain drink station & the sides are delicious, mac and cheese, loaded Mash papa's, greens. & stuffing
I had the 2 meat lunch plate with 2 sides. The portions were more than generous. I ordered the brisket, and ribs along side the green beans and turkey casserole. The ribs were great, and the brisket was a little tough/dry. The green beans were well seasoned and the turkey casserole was salty, but reminded me of Thanksgiving. Over-all, the meal was very good! Oh, and service was spot on!
First time eating there. Their baked potato was delicious. In my opinion, the quantity of food is better than Papas BBQ. A bit pricey but for the portions of food you get, it's worth it.
Great food! Huge servings, highly recommended BBQ spot!!👍🏻👍🏻
