Review Harry's Restaurant - Houston

Our server was Amazing she explained the menu to us well. The place was clean but there's a disconnect in seating we were placed in a room by ourselves when there was room in other places. That made us feel uncomfortable. But the food was good the pricing is much for one person but they do suggest sharing plates do to the amount of food served.

Second time stopping into Harry's man is this place popular and the wait times are crazy if your in a group. Luckily it's was 2 of us and we were willing to sit outside so we got a table right away. Unfortunately we didn't get a waiter until 10 minutes in then he was very attentive and took care of us for the remainder of our visit. We had plenty of coffee refills without asking. The food is always delicious but then I always order their Chilaquiles Divorciados with skirt steak. My son got the waffle plate and his was great also. Stop by maybe just get there early.

An exquisite dining experience in a modern and sleek setting, Harrys truly encompasses a traditional diners’ soul with dishes representing the owners’ hometowns of Greece, Ecuador, and so much more. Upon entering, an expansive seating area greets you which is divided into various sections naturally lit by large windows. We were seated and our order taken quickly. The menu is compact yet has enough options to sate anybody’s hunger, with breakfast and lunch options. Known for their breakfast, we ordered the migas, waffle and skirt steak with achiote potatoes. The food was scrumptious, and service professional and promptly. I highly recommend this restaurant as you have plenty of options in a great setting. Come early on weekends as the crowds can be excessive.

This place was beyond incredible. Came to grab some breakfast with my husband we had the chilaquiles which were very delightful and a simple french toast breakfast which i enjoy. The portions of the food here are huge which i loved staff were friendly and the place was very clean. if your visiting from out of town i would recommend this place service was great and food was delicious.

This is my 4th time coming. Good is excellent and the service is great! The only but I give it is the parking. One can park on the side streets. You and your party must all be present to get seated. Migas were delicious, chicken and waffles perfect, and the chilaquiles with beef superb! I had a cranberry mimosas x2. I will be coming back

Sheesh! If I could give this place more stars, I would. The atmosphere, the staff, and the food were just impeccable. We will definitely return. I was not aware the kid’s hotcake was in the shape of Mickey Mouse, which was a fan favorite!!! I ordered the spicy chicken and waffle, the chicken was cooked perfectly and has the right amount of spice. The waffle had an amazing texture but not overly sweet. The pancakes were thick and fluffy! Love it. We are a family who loves syrup so we did have to ask for more but Harry’s is more than willing to give you more! Also, an honorable mention to the nicely done eggs and very tasty bacon!

Absolutely excellent breakfast omlette. Gently cooked (not singed) very fresh ingredients and taste. The toast, the grilled tomatoes - jsimple but delightful. Beautiful atmosphere (casual, but not) first time here, but it is now on my list

Absolutely delicious brunch spot! This was a great spot to chill after the Breast Cancer Awareness walk on Saturday! Customer service and atmosphere was top notch! Thank you all so much Harry's Restaurant!

Came here for brunch on a Friday afternoon and the place was packed!! It felt like a weekend crowd. The menu was interesting with Greek and Spanish inspiration, but hubby thought it was a bit complicated and lacked simplicity. Some of the dishes that we were eyeing in the pictures were no longer available on the menu. The food tasted alright, but overall thought it wasn’t best value for money. It’s a one time deal for us, may give another place a shot in the future.

We went for breakfast on weekend and it was packed! The server was courteous but not friendly. There was a half an hour wait. They were servicing fast. Tables were being cleaned and people were being seated constantly. We ordered tacos, eggs Florentine, baklava French today and the classic breakfast. Food was all delicious, baklava French toast was not too good. It was way too sweet. I was glad we ordered it for the table to taste and not as an individual order. I ordered a latte and it was good a little on the sweeter side. I would suggest add more flavors especially lavender for the lattes. I took away a star because parking was a nightmare! They do not have enough spots for the crowd and you are literally on your own. I circled around a couple of times and was able to find one in the corner by the closed gate. Parking was a test of my driving! I will definitely be back

There was a bit of a wait time, but I with food this delicious, its worth the wait. Everything was amazing! There were six of us and we couldn't stop raving about the burst of flavors. My absolute favorite spot for brunch. I had the chilaquiles divorciados. Crisp tortilla chips one side in green sauce the other with red sauce. Pickled red onions a nice layer of cheese. 2 eggs done your way with a side of beans and avocado. AMAZING!!!

Food is OK. Eggs were good but the sausage patty was really, really dry. The waffles and coffee are outstanding. My first impression upon walking in: there sure are a lot of rules here. Right up front there's a big sign. Is this really necessary?

Wow!!!!! Me & my husband have been to many brunch places and this is by far the best breakfast place we have ever been too! Lates are to die for & food is fresh and different than the usual. Just go try it & see for yourself!

#JoeFoodTour haven't been to Harry's in several years. They definitely have upgraded their establishment. Had one of their popular dishes chilaquiles. #HowdyFromHouston #ThePropertyJoes #LivingLifeInHouston #midtown tremendous to share it with family, who came in to celebrate my birthday.

The host had an attitude. The waitress was nice but hardly attended to us, we had to bother other waitresses for drinks when we needed refills or condiments. The chilaquiles were yummy.

I was in town to watch the Madrid vs Man U game and needed a place to eat breakfast... This was it and i dont regret going. Service and food was great!! 5 stars all the way!!

Eat Local. 💙 Support Local. 💙 We have been eating at Harry's for many years. Always delicious! We ask for Irene as our server. She is top-notch! Great service all around. Love the presentation of the food, the beverages and the vibe at Harry's.

Brunch

Great food at a great price! Wide variety of options to choose from! Our waiter was attentive but not annoying. We enjoyed our meal and will return!

If I am in the area for a weekday breakfast, I normally go to the popular breakfast restaurant on Travis. We had a very good server that took great care of our party of 5. He successfully answered all our gluten questions. When we got there, we were seated immediately, but from what I have been told, long wait times are possible on the weekends.

Not much flavor to the first tacos. This place it's like a privately owned lubys. I don't think we will come again, nothing to wow about here.

Good breakfast! We eat here weekly for a breakfast meeting. The food is freshly made to order and the servers are always nice. Great selection for all!

What a great way to start the day! I love baklava and when I heard this place had baklava French toast I had to check it out. It's two fluffy pieces of toast with a layer of sweet pecans in the middle, all topped with Greek yogurt ice cream. I didn't even need to add any syrup.

I'm a Houston local but had never been to Harry's! It was delicious & friendly! The yummy portions are HUGE & the quality of food is top notch! We will definitely be back to Harry's I he future!

Great breakfast and brunch options. They offer Mediterranean style omelettes as well as Latin and Mexican too. Our table of 7 ordered differently and we're all very impressed.

Atmosphere is kind of like a diner but a bit nicer than that. Eclectic group of church goers on Sunday and young Midtown couples. I would definitely come back here again.

A few weekends ago, my sister Emily was in town, so my dad and I took her out to breakfast at Harry's Restaurant & Cafe in Midtown one morning. Harry's is a pretty well-known Houston spot, especially for breakfast, so this visit was a long time coming for me!. The massive, open, no frills interior was bustling with people and staff on that particular day. Even though we were told we would have to wait 30 minutes, we were seated right away!

Breakfast. Recycled pancakes. Ate there for late breakfast with my wife on a Saturday after recommended by a colleague. Pancakes were like they just put them back on the grill to reheat. Make them at home all the time. These just crumbled because they were so dry. The butter wouldn't even melt. The sausage patty also showed signs of being around for awhile. Having told my wife this was a good place was to embarrassed to send them back. Won't be back.

Good way to spend breakfast or lunch!. Great food for lunch or breakfast.

Great breakfast. Got in early on a Sunday. Limited parking. Family friendly. Fresh orange juice.

Harry's has become one of our favorite brunch spots on the weekends. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. If you go on a Sunday morning, be prepared for a longer than usual wait time for your food to arrive but other than that, this place gets two thumbs up for sure!

I Didn't Know That Places Like This Still Existed. Harry's reminds me of the restaurants I went to as a teenager - back in the 1960's. It's incredibly good.

I can't believe the negative reviews, my friends and I have been having Breakfast here once a month for years and we agree they have the best food and service in town for breakfast
RRR
I'm not sure why there are poor reviews here. Harry's is my breakfast place and visit it frequently during the week and weekends. The food is awesome (try the Greek omlet or Larissa plate for something different) and the kitchen is quick to service the orders. I find the wait staff to be attentive without being overbearing. The staff is very stable, providing consistency in the kitchen and dining room. The owner is usually there to oversee operations.

So I asked the waitress why it is taking an hour to cook eggs and she replied it's not just eggs. True that . Friend was getting pancakes. Wow. Food comes bacon cold and dry and pancakes were just bad. Really bad place.

-----04 Sep, 2011-----

This place is terrible. I have never waited sloppily long for eggs in my life. Terribly loud and frustrating way to dart a sunday.

Good ol Harry's. Introduced to this place by an old friend and it's always good. Can get loud when crowded but service and food is solid every time

A Quaint Breaksfast Spot in Midtown. Harry's is an excellent spot to enjoy a well cooked breakfast away from the hectic noise crowds on Elgin. The staff are remarkably inviting and the omelettes are very well made. The seating is well spaced, so one does not have to intimately share space with those at the next table.

Though the service was not awesome, Harry's was a great place for a lazy Sunday brunch. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and amazing. In our party of 9, everyone got something different and it was all excellent - worth the wait. I wouldn't go if I were in a hurry, but when when you want conversation, relaxation and good food are what you're looking for, this is the place.

Food is Not Good Enough to Put Up with HORRIBLE Service. I came to Harry's today (Sunday) for breakfast with my friend who was taking me to the airport. Arriving at 11:50, we sat at the counter because I had a plane to catch. It took the waiter 10 minutes to take our order. 25 minutes later, we had not been served. We asked the waiter when he finally came by. He went and looked at the tickets and said we were number 10. That is incredible since the ticket space does not hold more than 15 tickets and I saw him put our ticket up there. I told him we would have to leave. He went back to the tickets, moved them around and returned telling us we were now number 4 and it would be about 10 more minutes.

That is just crazy for 2 reasons. No one's food is THAT good to wait 35 minutes from order to receipt of the food. [That's assuming he was right about the 10 minutes.] But worse, his actions showed the reason we had waited so long - waiters and waitresses could alter the order. That is preposterous. [I suspected this even before our waiter moved tickets around, when someone else sat at the counter long after we were there and was served within 5 minutes of sitting down. He must have been someone's favorite customer.]

I have been to many business breakfasts and political breakfasts during the week at Harry's. I will not be back. And, if someone suggest we meet at Harry's, be assured I will tell my story. As it is, I almost missed my flight. The food is good, but no food is that good. And, there is nothing that Harry's has that I can't find elsewhere.

Best Breakfast & Lunch in Houston. This restaurant is open only for breakfast and lunch:
BREAKFAST: All of the normal breakfast items are available, as are so many unique dishes. The restaurant is owned and operated by a family (father, mother, daughter, and son etc sometimes others :-)). They prepare special dishes and display them on a table as one enters. A recent sample was a zuccini omelet, greek omelet, thick waffle with blueberries & nuts, etc etc. It is ALL GOOD!!! The orange is fresh squeezed in front of you.
LUNCH: Lunch is a steamtable style with the food prepared daily with fresh vegetables that the owners say came that morning from the farmer's market. Sometimes I get the vegetable plate, which is 3 veggies of choice with rolls, or one of many meat & fish entress. The Basa (sp?) fish is grilled in front of you and is so good! Don't pass up the homemade desserts, including the hugh slice of baklava that feeds two people.

This is a mom & pop restaurant with high standards. It is worth a trip on any morning or lunch excursion. On weekends, there might be a line out the door since it is so popular. Nevertheless, the quality is always excellent. Also, there is a private dining rom that the owners let use use at no charge if you have a meeting gathering. Wehave been trying to get them to open for dinner, but since they work 7 days a week at early hours and lunch, maybe that's too much. PLus, the owner always makes his way around the tables talking with the guests. We like that.

Diner Beware. Several of us go to Harry's regularly for breakfast and until recently were regular customers. The food is just not that great anymore, really overcooked bacon, driest pancakes ever, not the greatest eggs-but by far the main reason we will not return is the unprofessional behavior by the owner who after regularly overcharging all of us, refused to accept the fact that he does this and we have caught on to it. If at least two people in our party is overcharged 99% of the time then I can only imagine how many other people are being overcharged as well. No food is so good that you have to put up with a lack of professional integrity in a town with so many great spots to eat. Avoid this place and run over to the Heights and eat at Chiloso's where they appreciate their regular customers and the food is outstanding.

So Tasty!. This place has something for everyone on the menu. I highly recommend the FETA FRIES! They have everything from traditional American breakfast to Mediterranean snacks and hot meals. Great for a hangover and great for a warm cooked meal in general.

Excellent breakfast! Feta cheese and spinach omelet was great, as was club sandwich ... Didn't feel rushed even though people waiting.
Erin
This place had terrible service, it was incredibly slow and the food was cold!! Would not go here again...knew we should have gone to breakfast klub.

One of my favorite Midtown Sunday brunch spots. Try the Greek omelette. It's full of salty feta cheese, which is perfect when washed down with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice.
Lori
Curious offerings. I walked in expecting a cafeteria offering American food and was pleasantly surprised to see several Greek offerings down the line. The food was tasty, the portions very generous, and the price was comparable to other lunch places in the area. It's also very bright inside and clean.
