I had a quick morning breakfast meeting here and I’m glad we chose this spot. The selections were really good and the food awesome. Nice vibes all around and the service was phenomenal. Will definitely be returning with the family.

A must try restaurant! This place has a great selection of appetizers and food. The atmosphere and customer service is excellent.

We had a great experience at this super cozy restaurant. The pizza and pasta were definitely favorites. This place is a must try, delicious and intimate but not over the top ! Medium casual to dressy I would say, I wouldn't recommend shorts.

This place is always amazing. We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner last week. We were so impressed with the attention to all our details and wishes. Nadia met with us to go over the details and she didn’t miss a thing! It felt like our own private restaurant. The servers were outstanding, the food was incredible. This is a well managed restaurant with staff that truly cares (the bartenders are always great btw). This event needed to be perfect. Thanks to Nadia and her team, it was!

Went in for a late lunch around 2 pm, atmosphere was nice and chill. Got an appetizer the Nola voodoo balls and they were delicious. For our meals got the lobster grilled cheese with fries and for my wife Cajun chicken pasta. The food was really good, server was awesome. The manger Josue was great, attentive, friendly, very great dining experience overall. Will be a repeat customer.

We celebrated my wife and daughter last night with dinner here. We each ordered something different and everything was wonderful! I had the bone in pork chop with green beans, but swapped the mashed potatoes for the grits! Oh wow! It was all so very good! Great service as well!

We went to the Murder Mystery Dinner last night and it was an incredible event! So much fun!! The wine was amazing and the curated menu was fabulous! The union kitchen staff always does such a great job at their events and we've never been disappointed with the food! If they do another event like this in the future, we will be there :)

Went for Valentine's Day and the lollipop lamb chops were so tender and flavorful. The waiter was kind and attentive. And my husband's lobster bisque was the best he has ever had. All in all...5 stars

The restaurant was really nice with wood decor and white linen table cloths. It was quiet and gave off an intimate feel. Or appetizers were soup, carnita eggrolls, and the Nola ( New Orleans Louisiana) voodoo balls. All were delicious. The tomato and basil soup had a rich tomato flavor, and the herbs added a brightness. The carnita eggrolls had two sauces, rouxmalade and a salsa verde. Both tasted great with the carnitas. One was spicy, and one caliente. The Nola balls were a bbq delight with a hit of heat. For the main courses, we got the chimichurri steak and the miso seabass. The steak was juicy and tender with a great steak taste. The chimichurri, for me, added to the steak flavor, pumping it up a notch. For my husband, he wanted a harder hit of the chimichurri flavor. The seabass was undercooked. The waitstaff (Alex) offered to have it fixed, but I declined. The manager (John) also offered to correct the situation, but I was good with bringing it home and finishing the cook there. John did remove the cost from our bill (which was such an outstanding move). The manager, John and Alex, are what will make me go back to a place to eat. Mistakes happen...how you deal with them is what makes a good restaurant great. I highly recommend eating here prices are on point, food is delicious, and a great staff makes this one of my go-to places to eat a wonderful meal with a great atmosphere.

There is a union kitchen by my house in garden oaks that is fantastic so i decided to check this place out. I got the voodoo balls which tasted great but were served all spaced out on the onion rings and since it was so cold in there they weren't very hot when I got them. Maybe they would be better served in a pile on a bed of the onion rings? My friend got the shrimp and grits which had a great flavor but is served in a lake of sauce. Personally I think it could use more grits to balance the amount of sauce especially for 22 dollars.

Excellent

Upscale restaurant in ambiance, but not price. Their pizza is very good. Full bar. Great restaurant for a night-out dinner.

Great ambiance and good service,
but the food tended to be off temperature (cold). My son, a former manager in a
local upscale restaurant organization, has been there several times, thinks
their off-temperature food is inveterate, and even speculated on the reasons.
He had warned us about going, but my wife and I wanted to try it out anyway. We
started with Artichoke & Spinach Dip for an appetizer. It was not as hot as
it could have been, but OK. My wife had the Pistachio Crusted Chicken over
linguini and I had Braised Beef Short Rib over butternut squash with a side of
Union Chili. Her chicken was hot over linguini that was barely warm. My chili
was barely warm, the beef was warm but the butternut squash was only room
temperature. All flavors were exceptional and having been warned, we did not
complain much about the temperature. Only when a manager came by on a routine
check did we say something. She was quite alarmed and offered to replace both
of our main dishes. I had only half of mine redone, my wife passed on hers and
had it boxed for take home. When my food arrived, piping hot, it was terrific.
The next day when we heated hers up, it was likewise. It is amazing how much
proper temperature enhances the flavor of good food. According to my son, most
cooks and customers do not pay much attention to food temperature. I wonder
why?

It is a shame that food prepared
so exquisitely delicious is muted by being served off temperature. We spent
nearly $100 for the meal, drinks and sides, and still found it fairly
enjoyable. However, when a place charges that much, they should do better. It
would be nice if they heated up their act. Kingwood needs a good fine dining
spot.

Husband had the pork chop and I had pistachio crusted chicken, both were wonderful! Only minor disappointment was most of the appetizers were flash fried- the mushrooms, asparagus, stuffed avocado, wontons... Great wine selection and strong mojitos! We will be regulars!

We loved everything about our dinner here. Food was delicious, the wine list was amazing and our waiter was very attentive but not overly. The dessert tray looked amazing . They need to sell a sampler plate ! Anyway , we ordered the bread pudding and carrot cake . Devine . Everything is made fresh that day in house . Love !

Entered restaurant and waited for people in front of us to be helped. Moved to podium and waited while one girl answered phone and gave directions and answered questions on phone and other girl stood there looking lost. Neither greeted us. Girl hung up and still didn't greet us. I had to initiate and tell her I had a reservation. We were a party of two and seated at a table with two table settings with one missing the knife and the table had no candle in the middle as did the other tables. Our waiter greeted us and never asked if we wanted bread, which would have been nice since bread is on request. We got water after we asked for it and requested bread. We ordered our meal and no bread and no drinks came for awhile. When bread was delivered it was not by our waiter, but by a woman walking around with bread who seemed to not know where to deliver it. I flagged her down. Our food was just okay. I was not impressed with food or service. It was just okay. Kingwood is still in need of a nice fine dining restaurant. Maybe others have never had a true fine dining experience and that's why these restaurants in Kingwood get high ratings.

Excellent. Service, food, wine selection and most of all - the reserved table. Great ambience.

Delightful experience. My son lives in Kingwood so we were trying to find a place in the area that was new to them. We decided to try the Union Kitchen, and could not have been more pleased. There were five of us, including two picky teenage girls. Everyone was very happy with their food, including the girls, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was Reins. He was not only very knowledgeable about the menu but kept us all laughing with his witty conversation and upbeat attitude . When we were almost finished with our entrees, Juan, the chef, came to our table, introduced himself, and sought to make sure everything had gone well. We assured him that the meal had been great and we were more than satisfied. When he found out that this was our first time at the restaurant, he sent us a complimentary dessert. I felt that attention was lavished upon us without being intrusive, and this made me feel pampered. Good food, great service, you "betcha" we'll go back.

Worst ever-Customer is ALWAYS wrong!. Went here with a groupon for my wife's birthday. (Memorial) OK, probably won't use a coupon for my wife's birthday again, but seemed like a good deal. Just like all good deals, they usually go south fast. The FINE PRINT does not necessarily say that you cannot use more than 1 Groupon per table, it states one per visit. We were there on our own dime, and had another couple join us, they had their own Groupn. So, we are not even past the ordering of WATER yet, and the waiter informs us that we cannot use the secondary Groupon, from the other couple, (Didn' know we were supposed to combine our finances with other individuals) but, from there on it was like they wanted to get rid of us quick. The manager even came over and used an IPAD to qualify their position on the Groupon. A more propoer response would have been, " we don't usually do this, but......."
We were not intentionally there to "screwpon their groupon." There we go, we now have a new name for Groupon. "Screwpon". The evening was tortuous, in commanding service and attention, as we were now second class citizens, with our Groupon. Basically, just takin' up table space for real customers. Cannot believe their attitude. They went out of their way to PROVE us wrong. We did not even order the maximum food per the deal, so they were taking our money anyway. I won't eat there again, at any of thier locations. Risotto was over-cooked, more like mashed potatoes. Fish was soggy, I could have had better pizza at Dominoes. The biggist thing aside from all of the off-taste, is the attitude of the manager. Is fifty bucks worth the potential $1000 or more in future customers who will read this?? Take a lesson in customer service, not everyone is out to take you. If you loose just one meal as a result of this review, that makes it for me.

We'll be back. My wife and I had not been in for a while and decided to go last night. I must admit my expectations were surpassed. We started with the Chicken Tinga empanadas and were very pleased. They were cooked perfectly and had the slightest hint of smokiness from the chipotle pepper without being too spicy. We then ordered the scallops on butternut squash risotto. This too was excellent. The scallops were pan seared beautifully and the risotto was not over cooked or dry. We had a great evening visiting with our server Mattie, the managers and even the chef. We were treated like royalty.

Last try.. We have given this restaurant several tries. We are usually pretty positive about the places we dine, but The Union Kitchen has failed us at most every visit. On Friday November 7. We went with some friends at 6:00. We were seated quickly, and service was okay , but when it came to ordering, everything
that we had enjoyed there before was gone from the menu. I ordered the beef short ribs, substituted potatoes for squash. Twenty minutes after the food had been delivered to my dining companions, I was given a plate of squash, and a huge hunk of very tough meat. No ribs, no bone just a hunk of gray meat like chuck roast. It looked like a dogs dish. No apology was made ,for the delay ,by the server , nor did ant manager come over to make amends .
I doubt we will be returning. Theo Christman

Go for the atmosphere, return for the pizza!. The food here is a little different, but good. The Dr pepper shrimp has an interesting mix of flavors. However, the place where the restaurant really shines is in their pizza. The chicken florentine pizza is out of this world delicious. The wife and I tried one for dinner and decided to get another to go. Even if you passed up this place based on their other food you really owe it to yourself to check out their pizza.

Great atmosphere, delicious food! We have visited several times in large groups, small groups and even had orders to go. Highly recommend.

Poor Service - Overcharged - Rushed Out. The food is good, tasty and plentiful. Meats ordered medium were served well done and no offer to rectify it. The service is very poor, inattentive and slow. We were overcharged, but did not make an issue as it would look bad in front of our clients. We finished our meal about 9:20 p.m. and were enjoying the last of our wine and chatting when the staff started making a lot of noise closing down. Talk about being thrown out!!

We went to the Union Kitchen with a large group of 42. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. All of the food came out at the same time. The food was very good. I had the special, fillet with shrimp. It was excellent. Everyone liked the food.

Very disappointing ...a filet ordered med rare and served med well, "I can take it back if you really need me to..."..I poured my wine and check was left in bread basket. It's a shame. Has high potential but won't make it like that.
