Star Pizza is my go-to deep dish spot in Houston and has been for a long time.
It has a comfortable, cozy restaurant vibe and has consistently delivered great service and excellent food. While I have tried some of their pasta dishes and really enjoyed them. my go-to order for the table is a Caesar salad and a deep dish. The caesar dressing is a little heavy on the garlic but personally, that's just how I like it. The deep dish is the best I have had outside of Chicago. The crust is always slightly crisp on the outside while remaining just slightly doughy in the center, with the perfect ratio of toppings, cheese, and sauce. I have tried many of their topping options and can honestly say I've never had a bad pizza here.
If you're in the mood for a laid-back, consistently amazing deep-dish pizza I would highly recommend checking out Star Pizza.

where do I begin! was seated quickly, love the vibes of this place,has mom and pop vibes which i love!!Waiter was personable,down to earth and made us feel welcome, being the first time here...the cook that brought pizza out was also really nice and showed great hospitality! Now the food..OMG!! Garlic bread was phenomenal! I had to force myself to stop eating so much so I would have room for the pizza..Then the deep dish came out and it was so delicious!! I completely over ate ,gave myself a stomach ache but it was totally worth it!! This pizza has everything you're looking for! Flavor is not lacking and they are not stingy with the toppings, you must stop by this location ,you will not be disappointed!! Thank you guys for feeding us delicious pizza and offering fantastic service!

Absolutely the best place for pizza!!!! My grandson ate FIVE slices. He's ONE!!!! That should tell you everything you need to know about how good the pizza was.

I popped in for a quick bite in the middle of the day and sat outside on the patio. The host was very welcoming and friendly. I ordered a small Chicago style pizza with meatballs, onions, and mushrooms. It was really delicious. The top part of the crust was crunchy And the balance of seasoning and spices and the pizza was perfect.

The Ben's pizza is delicious. The chicken garlic pesto sandwich had lots avocado and melty cheese. Update 8/5/23 The crust didn't taste as good. I don't know if it's still a honey wheat crust or just wheat. Some of my husband's ingredients didn't taste so fresh. He said it tasted like refrigerator.

Garlic bread was great along with the penne Alfredo and good portion size. The deep dish starburst was really good as well. Next time going to have to try the dessert pizza as looked amazing. Friendly service as well. Lunch special is good deal.

Great service and delicious pizza. They have a lunch special where you get a salad and a personal pizza for $12 and I think thats a great deal. The pizza is so delicious and I highly recommend the Starburst and Hawaiian pizza. The garlic bread and cheese is also delicious but I would've liked for them to have toasted that bread a little more to where there's a crunch but other than that it's really good here. Plenty of seating/tables great atmosphere and service is great. I highly recommend this location on Washington Ave.

I've been going to Star Pizza since 1977 the original one. My wife and I dated here and we would bring the kids. Love the deep dish the Starburst with wheat crust, The lasagna is to die for. Treat yourself or the whole family

We ordered the Chicago style deep dish. It was very good but we had a lot of vegetables in the pizza(which is what we wanted). However, the vegetables were a bit under cooked and it was watery. I would have liked more pizza sauce on it too. I think had we ordered a meat only pizza it would have been excellent. The dipping oil appetizer was delicious! The service was great too!

The pizza was really good! We sat outside and ate at their outside dining area. Our table was pretty wobbly. We ordered the New York style starburst pizza, Substitute the mushrooms for garlic and some breadsticks. But the the pizza was good, breadsticks were good and the service was good. Would recommend and would go back!

Great source for Houston Pizza!
I wanted to try this place for a long time, so I decided to check out the buffet at 11 AM on a Friday. The restaurant does fill up fast I noticed! By the time Star Pizza opened up, they had several pizzas already set up for the buffet. Every other pizza buffet I've went to at opening time still has their employees setting up and just started baking the pizza.
The way the pizzas here taste are unlike any other buffet I've tried. The cheese is nice and gooey. There are multiple pizza flavors on the buffet, so you're sure to find one that suits your taste palette. The desert pizza they offer has apples and walnuts on it. It's very savory, and I've never seen this offering at any other pizza chain.
The service was top notch, my drink never reached empty before being refilled by the server.
If you're in Houston, you *NEED* to check this place out at least once!

Love the lunch special with the small pizza and salad! It’s prefect for a filling lunch. Service was excellent and the pizza was so warm and cheesy! I love it! Can’t wait to come back 🥰

This is the BEST pizza in Houston! The deep dish is amazing. The service is always great, the prices are reasonable and the place is always clean. I love over an hour away and will make the drive for this pizza!

I really enjoyed my experience here. I was greeted by almost all, and my weight person was attentive. Our food came out promptly, and it tasted pretty good. I had the starburst pizza. It was tasty but lacked just a little contrast in flavor. Would return and do recommend.
