Review Pappasito's Cantina - Houston

Friendly service. A little pricey for Tex-Mex but the fajita platers were a great value for a small family and was plentiful. Only decided to eat here as it was one block from my hotel and the only thing open on a Sunday for lunch. Fajitas were tasty and made for good tacos. Now the tortillas were delicious and appeared to be made in house as they were very fresh. If your in walking distance I’d recommend it.

My experience here was amazing. My first evening Noah was my waiter. Fantastic drinks, food and service! Had the Grande Reserva and Steak Fajitas. I came back and Javin was my waiter. We tried a chicken fajitas... just as good as the steak. And another Reserva... yummy! Ty poured us amazing drinks. Both nights the manager, Sam, made her way around the restaurant checking on tables. I appreciate that because it allowed to communicate on service, which was faniminal!

So good! We were in for a convention with resteraunts all around. We liked it so much we ate lunch there twice. So unlike me, but it was quite yummy.

This was a great experience we had at Pappasito. Service was quick and the food was great. along with chips and salsa that were getting refilled back to back. Started with a margarita that I could taste the alcohol in it, that was a plus! Then we had Chicken Fajitas which was enough for two people. Will definitely go again.

We had some problems with our reservation but the manager was really nice and fixed it. Food was awesome !!! The shrimp fajitas were delicious ! I would have loved more tortillas with them though ! And also the chips and salsa. Drinks were good too ! I want to come back

The Guacamole was so delicious! I could have eaten just that for dinner. I also had a fruity margarita (the small is huge) and the seafood enchiladas. They were perfect! The beans (the pinto beans with bacon), also fabulous! Also, possibly the best scallops I have had. My only dislike was it was a bit salty for me. But loved it anyway. Our server was also amazing! Knowledgeable, excited to do her job, and very accommodating.

The food was so good: fresh, handmade, natural ingredients… I feel that when I asked for the Guacamole’s dish. The service was so kindly and the spot is well decored and you feel confortable in it. A little bit expensive for me but no doubts, totally worth it!

The pre game party starts here! We always stop at Pappasitos for a delicious margarita and appetizers before heading to the Toyota Center. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and lively. I certainly recommend it.

I recently had the pleasure of eating at Pappasito's Restaurant located in the heart of the city. Near the George r Brown convention center the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a lively backdrop of colorful decor and exciting music. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was simply outstanding! The menu featured a variety of delicious Mexican dishes, from tacos and burritos to fajitas and quesadillas. I ordered the chicken enchiladas he fresh ingredients and flavorful spices were the perfect combination. I also enjoyed a frozen margarita Overall, my experience aas amazing! I would highly recommend it to anyone

Pappasito's holds a special place in my heart. It was the place of my first Hostess job in the early 90s. We always eat here for special occasions. Sunday night was one & I wanted fajitas. The Food was delicious, But, I ordered a $40 chicken fajita platter for "2 - 3 people" (2 people ate) and they gave me 2 tablespoons of Guacamole & Pico, a Pinch of lettuce, 1 Plate, 1 Fork, 3 tortillas and enough beans that we each had 3 spoonfuls each. I don't eat a lot, I weigh 100 lbs but, I'm still hungry... First time ordering take-out from this location. We usually use the 610 South location. We won't be back!

We had a crowd of 14 for dinner... taking the size of our table and Saturday evening... the service was slow at best, I ordered ribs... so spicy I could not eat them. My order included grilled shrimp... the butter sauce was missing... the small empty cup was on my plate with nothing in it! The waiter said twice before leaving he would bring my butter sauce... never saw him again and our waitress disappeared extended length of time and often. The food was overpriced and not really that good.

We got seated fast. Our server was fantastic, our food was brought out surprisingly fast, but the issue was that the food was just ok. Not delicious, not good, just ok. We have been to other papasitos and the wait is longer, the server is ok, but the food is always good. I was a little disappointed.

Excellent food and service, the portions are enormous. In town for Harvey Recovery and it provided a much needed point of relaxation.

Love Pappasito’s! Unfortunately my local downtown location has horrendous management. We try time and time again, exaggerated wait times, empty tables, filthy patio areas with no service. Manager just shrugged her shoulders at me when I requested service.....if you’re downtown the solid bet is Guadalajara.

The very best quality & service. Been eating here 20+ years. The very best.

Great people food came out fast. Excellent service. Definitely recommend it.

Aww it was just ok. They lied about the 35min wait, more like an 1hr1/2 & I never got half my meal. After, almost finishing I just said forget it. He had already forgotten it. He never put it in. Only got an apology, never tried to make it right.

This place didn’t had much to offer. Ran out of calamari, green salsa and waiter took a little long to serve.

Pappasito's has the best Shrimp Brochette and the best Chile con Queso in Houston!

Convenient location if staying at Hilton Americas.

Pappasito's Cantina is located adjacent to the Hilton, which makes it convenient. The menu is quite extensive and palatable, similar to Chipotele.

Excellent Mexican

This was exceptional Mexican food, and very convenient to the conference center and associated hotels. Fajitas were great, as were the enchiladas. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was packed.

Really Good!

I went here through the week and there was plenty of seating at the bar. I had the tacos al carbon and they were cooked perfectly. The service was very good. It’s a bit on the expensive side for Mexican food but is very good overall.

was told by my friend that Pappasito is a must go to place when I am Texas. I order some bbq chicken and beef but it took longer than expected. Food was served promptly after I reminded the staff that I have waited for more than 20mins for the food. Despite being really busy, they serve me the food shortly and they follow up a few times to make sure that I am doing ok. The food is delicious as expected. Beef is tender and chicken is tasty. When I ask for bill, to my surprise, they waive my food as a gesture to compensate my slightly long wait for the wait. They are simply awesome. Highly recommended. I will definitely go back again.

Pappasito’s was able to seat us early. Our waitress was friendly, quick, and did her job well. The complimentary salsa and chips were delicious. The fish tacos were decent. Only didn’t give 5 stars because they served my ice cream in a hot dish so it all melted before I could enjoy it. I would go back.

Travel is an experience and I believe in making the most out of it. Every travel diary is like a painting, where nature meets human emotions. A place, is not only mountains, sea or sky scrapers, the people, their culture, their living habits and their existences infuses that uniqueness, which travelers tend to explore and extract. I also believe that food is an important criterion or means to plunge into the vulnerabilities of a race or kind or type of people. Hence whenever I travel to an unknown destination, I love to experience their eating habits, as much as my limitations as a consumer allows me.

In my recent visit to Houston, unfortunately I didn't get the chance to experience much of their culture or food. However one of the few eateries I visited interested me enough to write a review about it.

Pappasito's Cantina, a Mexican restaurant in Hotel Hilton in Houston Downtown, is strategically located to attract the attention of the passerby crowd. And also since its open for longer hours compared to other eateries nearby, it saved the starvation of late eating people like us.

The crew was amazing and very welcoming, there was an uninhibitedness about the place. The decor was interesting and was dominated by the red colour. It was great to see people come to celebrate their weekend drowned in euphoria. We had ordered shrimp and chicken Fajita, it was more than enough for two people. The preparation was delicious, rise portion, tossed veggies and tacos tasted great. But the grilled shrimp was remember-worthy, I generally don't consume too much shrimp in restaurants, but that night was an exception.

Overall Pappasito was a wholesome experience and a good place to visit.

Aritra Chakrabarty Sengupta

I could eat basket after basket of chips and salsa… so you know that Pappasito’s Cantina is popular with me! And this location, right across from Discovery Green, might be my favorite!

We were at the park and needed a good place to cool off, so we walked over for lunch. This restaurant can get busy, but for a weekday lunch, we walked right in and were seated (and the chips and salsa arrived!).

I was in love with the food. Coming from india the only Mexican I have had was from Taco bell. And trust me this was a pleasant surprise. The place was hip and the portions were huge. Almost everyone who came with me couldn't finish the full meal. I was thoroughly enjoying the food and thank you for letting me know what Mexican food really is!

This place was terrible. The service was extremely slow. They don't follow the half priced fajitas because "they are in a Hampton." Extremely over priced for the portion size compared to other location. I will not come here again.

Hour and no food.. 5/23, we sat down at about 9:45-9:50pm. We placed our drink order with whom I would assume was a manger. Our waitress wasn't even aware of this. Ordered Sweet Tea, was given regular tea. Well over a half hour after ordering, our waitress said someone else was served our food and that our new order was almost done (3 minutes were her exact words). Almost 15 minutes later it finally shows, we tell them to just make it take out. Between 5-10 minutes pass, and no food. We leave and on our way out we tell the manager, or rather whom we assumed was a manager, that our food still wasn't back. He said it's being boxed up. I said that its been almost 10 minutes and he said that's it's almost done. We said forget it and left.

Over priced texmex. I've eaten here twice. The tortilla soup was excellent but could have used some fresh green chili's.

I had chicken fajitas on the second occasion. They were the least flavorful and the most expensive fajitas I've ever had.
