Review Prohibition Theatre - Houston

I was there for the end of the year office get together. Once you first walk in, prohibition bar and scenery is very nice. Bar is upacale and so are the people. We were able to see two shows. The shows were amazing. It's definitely something anyone would love. People flying in the air etc. The actors and actresses are so funny. Bar is awesome great music as well. The only downside is the food. It wasn't horrible but I felt it was extremely over priced and I believe there is probably a catering business they used. The food did not come at hot. Again this isn't something I paid for it was a business occasion. Service was great. Very professional and fast. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 was the food. Other than that great place to take your team.

We had such an amazing time at Prohibition! My husband and I saw the jazz age show - wonderful mixture of old and modern and a perfect combination of burlesque and comedy (with the talented Ernest Hemingway & F. Scott Fitzgerald)! The service was wonderful, there is a great selection of craft cocktails and the food was delicious. My favorite cocktail was El Beso, served nextdoor at the bar, but You Had Me At Hibiscus was also great. I had the short ribs and salad, while my husband had the market fish & soup (redfish and chicken & sausage gumbo while we were there). Both were excellent. The theatre is beautiful, small & intimate. Not a bad seat in the house. The photos don't do it justice. I've already been recommending the show to friends and family. We'd definitely love to come back. Thank you for an amazing evening Prohibition Supperclub & Bar!

First time here for Happy Hour. 50 cents oysters! You can't find any better deal in town. The ambience was awesome. Will try the show on my next visit. Parking sucks!!! I was 3 min late to get my car and end up getting a $30 fine!!@ factoring the fine, the oysters ain't that a good deal...lol.

Entertaining, and I don’t have complaints about the dancers or the host. The host was very entertaining and kept the crowd engaged and laughing. The girls all executed their routines well and looked like they were having fun. Kinda wish the lead dancer wasn’t so much skin and bones-not hating on her, just not what I think of as a burlesque look. I think of sexy, sensual curves. Anyway, the food was less than amazing. I would not even say it was good. I wouldn’t give a bad review based almost only on a meal when what you are going to see is a show, but after dishing out close to $400 for 2 people, I am left wanting. If the show alone had cost that much, and no Dita, we would have passed. But since you have a meal and drinks, we thought it would be worth it...but still wasn’t. The picks are of the audience since there are no photos allowed of the show. If you tell them it is you birthday or anniversary, plan to get on stage!

I had the best experience here! Not only that the theater was absolutely gorgeous, we had the most attentive server! Chris helped us enjoy the show even more by making sure that our drinks were filled and ensuring that we had everything that we needed! The show was funny, sexy, beautiful, and everything in between! I was a little hesitant whenever I first heard about it, but after hearing the comments from friends, they said these performers were actually talented! They were! Their vocals were angelic, they danced so professionally, and they impressed me very much. There's no doubt about it that I will be coming back. Thank you so much for a great time!

One of the most unique places in Houston. Burlesque shows, Latin nights, great decor, well dressed business professionals, craft drinks, original plumbing, and elevator access to the Conservatory! Jonathan is my bartender typically, but all of the staff is simply amazing and entertaining! Some of their drinks are so entertaining to watch being made, - fire torch, and bunch of utensils are usually involved. Highly recommend to all of the visitors who want to experience something historic, unique, and unforgettable experience!

I’m obsessed with raw oysters, when I saw someone posted a review in my community FB page, I told myself I have to try it. Convince my boyfriend to take me here. The first time was so disappointed, they were closed for private event, we left with empty stomach and had already paid parking for 2 hrs. Second time, we made sure that they are open for public before we made our way there. Got 2 dozen raw, and 3 dozen of 3 different filled oyster. They were so good and fresh. I can eat at least 3 or 4 dozen of raw oysters (simple with Tabasco and salt) and I’m a happy. I’m drooling while writing this review. Their happy hour sangria is really good, my boyfriend doesn’t like mix drinks much but we almost order the second one if I didn’t have to go back to work.

I'm obsessed with oysters so of course I love this place. The employees are amazing and always super friendly, attentive, and fast. I have never attended a show in the theater but the bar is magical on it's own and the bartenders are more than wonderful.
