The food was amazing and the staff was incredible. I truly recommend this place to anyone who travels or lives in Houston. I wish they had one in Miami.
Amazing food. Amazing staff. Highly recommend if your looking for good Mexican/Tex-mex.
I traveled to Texas recently and dinner at Irma’s was supposed to be trip’s kickoff highlight. When I was in Houston a few years ago, I went to a different Irma’s location that was close to the ballpark but not “right” there. That location was fantastic. But it is now closed and a new, upscale Irma’s is across the street. I thought that was where I made reservations but it was closed. So we ended up at the ballpark location. Service was very good and the food was okay, but not fantastic. Our bill was just shy of $300 fir 4 adults and a kid. While we had a few drinks, we didn’t have a lot of them and we all did not order dessert. I would not go back to this location. Too pricey for what we had. I am really sad to write this review. I was hoping to have a second, fantastic meal. Sadly, we did not.
Best strawberry Margarita ever
Used Fresh strawberries and lots of booze . The food was great! Wild boar tamales were great. Ivan is the best waiter around. This is the first place we visit when we come to town
This place is a gem, to the degree that I almost don’t want to tell anyone its there. It’s a local institution- I had lunch with some locals who took me there, for which I will be forever grateful.
It’s in a little converted house that’s had stuff tacked on to it over the years a la an old farmhouse which gives it a really homey feel. The service was excellent- quick and friendly, very attentive. The food, TexMex, was out of this world. Fresh salsa and guacamole. I had a chicken relleno special that I would have immediately ordered again if I’d had time to consume another plate. Food was fresh well prepared and full of flavour. Quite frankly, it’s the best TexMex meal I’ve had, and it’s not close.
The price was pretty fair - $130 or so for three. I’m definitely coming back here on a future visit. Just don’t tell anyone else about it...
I've been here many times now, and I can easily say that this place has the best Guacamole in the city. The rice here is awesome, and their melon lemonade is awesome. They don't have a written menu, so you just have to listen to the wait staff call out the menu to you. Everything I've had has been awesome. I love the Sea bass. it's flavorful, beautifully textured, and fatty enough to make you feel like you're not just drinking seawater. Irma's is another iconic Houston spot, so I suggest that if you have not visited here before, then you definitely need to go!!!!
An iconic Houston space that is great for lunch or dinner, but it is expensive so be prepared to pay. Service is great. Chips are delicious. I had the salmon special at lunch and honestly one of the best pieces of fish I've had in Houston. Perfectly cooked and could not stop eating it. Will definitely be back for happy hour! Parking available on street and lot across from the restaurant.
Good food and neat atmosphere. Sort of a hot spot for downtowners. They use to only serve lunch, but then opened for dinners during home Astros games. No menu so quite often your surprised when you get the bill. Yes, the lemonade is great. More of a melonade.
Order the lemonade. Food is fresh and all about quality. No menu here. They tell you what's in the menu and the specials.
The best lemonade ever! Love the food, made to order. Served the way you want it, how you want it. Ask for Janet!
This was the best dining experience of my life. The owner greeted us all, recommended dishes, and delivered amazing food. The sea bass was the best tasting I've ever had. Thank you for the amazing service and delicious food.
First time here, was pleasantly surprised. The service was top notch. Lovely waitress who anticipated our needs, very polite and stayed nearby. Food was delicious. You have to try the spicy tamales. A little pricey for lunch.
This was our first visit to a Houston eatery this week and Irma’s Southwest restaurant exceed all our expectations. The service was wonderful! Favia is amazing. She provided us with food recommendations and has been the best server we have come across during this business trip. Favia made us feel welcomed and at home. The food is excellent and the lemonade is the best by far. We will definitely make sure we stop by again before our trip concludes. Thank you Favia!
We come here after Astros games for three things. The lemonade, queso, and tres leches cake. It’s not cheap but the value, flavor, and service is definitely worth it. TRY THE TRES LECHES CAKE!!!
First experience at Irma’s. My was it a pleasant experience! The staff were all professional. The restaurant was clean and the food was wonderful!! Muchas Gracias!!
Guacamole was AMAZING! Well-deserved rating as Best in Houston! My wife and I shared the burger! Hands down, the best burger I've had! We had a very pleasant conversation with Irma herself!! A very memorable evening while at a conference in Houston!
Interesting food, and friendly staffs.
All is very nice here.
Will be back.
Its been awhile since ive been back to Irmas. This is a new location. A little pricey but great food. As always, the mole is great, dishes and selection has just about everything. Now, many of you may not know, but there is a burger on the menu. Nilgai Texas Antelope...i felt adventurous for something different...Hello!!!!!!!

Anywho, amazing Mexican but i have a new reason to be a fan..great job....oh...the fries!, big crispy steak cut flavored morsels that will throw you back in your chair...nice job!
Love Love Love Irma's Southwest! From the time you enter the restaurant, the staff is so welcoming and always makes sure you gave the best experience. Their food is so good, fresh and vibrant. They're located right up the street from Minute Maid Park....If you're in the Houston area... You won't go wrong stopping in to get a spiked lemonade or margarita!!
So much to say about this jewel of a restaurant. We've been eating at Irma's as a family for 20+ years and have never been disappointed. The food, the service, the ambiance. You won't be disappointed after eating here. Reservations strongly suggested, especially game nights. Quick walk to the ballpark.
