What's beyond excellent? Only a foodie will understand another one's feelings and appreciations. Can you actually dissect ( if this word applies) every single ingredients i.e. the bounty of the ocean, the freshest herbs and the marriage of the spices to make a masterpiece in a plate. I so looked forward to this experience and BCN did not disappoint. BCN is a place where it's food belongs to the display on the wall just like Paco's art collection. An edible masterpiece that feeds not only the body but the mind and the soul. A place where we can be intimate with the food and will attain pleasure by the eating it. The experience of orgasmic satisfaction by consuming this delicious artistry. What's beyond excellent? BCN. Thank you Paco for bringing Chef Luis and Santiago for us to experience and enjoy their art.

My husband and I absolutely love BCN! This restaurant has a wonderful, European atmosphere with Spanish music playing where you can relax with a delicious array of wines and superior menu options, accompanied by excellent, friendly service. Some of our favorite dishes: The salmon and risotto dish and the Bacalao ajoarriero in roasted bell pepper sauce, fingerling potatoes and cherry tomatoes. (The seafood is so delicious and fresh, it tastes like the fish just leaped out of the Mediterranean and into the skillet and then your plate!) Preface the principle dishes with a wonderful array of Spanish appetizers and Sangria, and then wrap dinner off with a Barcelonian brûlée and a cheese / berries platter, and you have a night to remember!

The atmosphere, the service, the food... Everything about this restaurant is exquisite. We started with the mussels and octopus appetizers, followed by the watermelon and burrata salad. The octopus was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection and beautifully plated. The watermelon burrata salad was a refreshing and beautiful pallet cleanser, including the creamiest burrata I can imagine. For my entré, I had the lobster bouillabaise with rice, which was also cooked to perfection, plated beautifully, and I couldn't get enough of that bouillabaise. We enjoyed an amazing Spanish Grenache wine throughout the meal and shared several desserts, my favorite of which was the triple chocolate mousse cake with raspberries. This restaurant has fine dining down to an art.

The virtues of BCN are innumerable. We can't wait to go back. We had picked a wine but our server suggested another and it was absolutely delicious and a great recommendation. The wine list was focused, thoughtful, and supported the concept of the restaurant. The food was simple yet superbly prepared. Chef came out and visited tables towards the end of the night and was kind enough to talk to us for several minutes. We're so impressed that they source ingredients from Spain and are so dedicated to their concept of being a true Spanish restaurant. I hope BCN is around for many years to come so that we can have many more nights like that.

Absolutely the best service I have experienced in a Houston restaurant. Clumsy me dropped a salad fork and I knew not to reach for it because three other people had swept toward it and one grabbed it within seconds after it hit the ground. The food was beyond exceptional. Having travelled to Spain I can vouch for the authenticity. The prices make it a splurge but it's a worthy one. What a treat!

Today was an incredible dining experience for us on our wedding anniversary. We gave the host control of the courses and drink pairings and he delivered spectacularly. Food, service, and atmosphere of the place was just outstanding. BCN made our anniversary so magical and this experience was beyond memorable. We will definitely come again!

This is the best restaurant in Houston. Food/Drinks/Service/Atmosphere. All in one place. And Paco is so genuine and great to talk to.

We went on a NYE fixed menu, four courses. While the good was good, I understand that a Chef’s tasting with more courses or ordering a la carte might be more price e worthy. The suckling pig was excellent and the appetizers were excellent. Service superb.

I had a business dinner at BCN Houston and I cannot be more satisfied. You can find many restaurants across the country that are named Barcelona or BCN and I have been at several of those and they are not in the same league. We are, as Spaniards, very critical with the Soanish food outside our borders and this restaurant is at the level that you could expect in a good tapas restaurant in Paseo de Gracia, Barcelona. There is no difference. Products of quality, cooked to perfection and very tasty. It’s a must if you live in Houston or if you are just visiting.

Elderflower gin and tonic is excellent. Great ambiance and excellent appetizers. Steak was well cooked and the rest of my party enjoyed there main plate. In general I would recommend this restaurant however I believe it is overpriced, especially the off menu recommendations.

Upscale restaurant serving Spanish Cuisine and Gin & Tonic's.. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked.

Off menu items : Branzino & Razor Clams.

The Gin and Tonic cocktails were tasty. Lavender, elderflower are my top 2 recommendations.

Fantastic food, exquisite cocktails. Friendly, knowledgeable and quick service in a very congenial and warm atmosphere. Reminds me of the time I've spent in Barcelona and Catalonia. Will be sure to come back when I find myself in Houston.

Had a fantastic experience! Top service, and five star experience. Even though it is named after Barcelona, the vibe is more like Madrid. Charming converted home, that displays some of the owner’s private art collection. I left very impressed with the service staff, no only do they know the menu left and right, but they were very eloquent on the wine list and the art pieces in the room.

This is the best lamb & wine experience that I've ever had! The lamb was simmered perfectly, and this process gave it the perfect balance of flavor & moisture. The cuttlefish & rice were cooked incredibly well; the process gave them a good consistency in context and juicy flavor. The bomba rice was delicious. The desserts were well-balanced in sweetness, consistency, and taste. The gen & tonic combinations were especially effervescent & delicately crafted to give them a clean, berry-sweet taste.

Right now, my favorite place in Houston. Having been to MAD previously, I liked that BCN was quiet and more traditional. The venue reminds me of Olamaie in Austin. Definitely a special occasion restaurant.

The ambiance and service immediately set a high standard, creating a welcoming and refined atmosphere. The presentation of the food is visually stunning, each dish artfully arranged on the plate, capturing attention with its aesthetic appeal. However, when it comes to taste, the experience takes an unexpected turn. Despite the use of high-quality ingredients and excellent cuts of meat, the flavors don't quite live up to the visual promise. They're decent, but not remarkable. The textures and colors are impressive, but the taste doesn't follow through, leaving a bit of disappointment. The highlight, though, is the drink selection. The cocktails and wines are exceptional, elevating the overall dining experience. They complement the meal as best they can, adding a layer of satisfaction that the food alone doesn't quite achieve. This aspect nudges my rating of the food to a fair 4 out of 5, with the drinks enhancing the overall experience.

Service was great. Pedro was the best part of out experience at BCN. The off menu 36 month jamon and tomato bread was one of the best plate of the night, the cochinillo and the fideua were lacking something. Off menu calamari was good. The papatas bravas are amazing order 3 orders at least. Flan was average.

Spanish restaurant with a vegan menu too. My wife ate the pork shoulder and loved it. Her lavender gin drink was delicious. I had Bomba rice with zucchini and asparagus. See photo. Fantastic.

Edit: another day at BCN and we absolutely love it. Minimalistic interior design, calm, cozy atmosphere. Staff was friendly and patiently answered all of our questions. Lamp chop was a special addition, not on the menu. Though they said the it’s being added to the menu, amazing news because it’s a must try and you’ll never forget it. Pumpkin soup was too thick in my opinion and shell pasta appetizer was good but nothing special to say about it.

Great experience! Came here on a week night, and was pleased with most all things from start to finish. Knowledgeable waiters and very friendly service. Appetizers and desserts were the best parts of our meal. We especially enjoyed the grilled calamari in the avocado purée, and the cheese tray. Some of our mains were slightly over cooked (the lobster, and the steak particularly), but other than that, delicious. We sat outside on the patio which was a very pleasant atmosphere until the mosquitoes arrived, however when requested for bug spray, the staff returned in a few minutes with unused bottles of bug spray-they must’ve gone to the gas station to get it, which was exceptional service on their part. As we departed, one of our party members was very assertively and repeatedly asked to tip the valet, which the restaurant advertised via text to be complimentary. While it surely is good practice, it should remain voluntary to tip the valet, and that unfriendly experience unfortunately left a mark on our visit.
