Nice alternative to the large chain wing places. Server was attentive. Had the Asian and jerk wings which were both very good. Fried Pickles were awesome. Beer selection was very good. Had some nice local selection.
Awesome Wings, Reasonable Price, and Don't Forget to Try a FRIED PIE!!. Several years back we were going to give Jefferson's a try, but alas their taps were down, and we were in the mood for a pitcher of beer to go with our wings. We elected to go elsewhere (and was disappointed with our final destination, but that's a different story). We finally made it back over to Jefferson's and it never disappoints.
My daughter ventures out and tries other things on the menu. My husband and I stick with the wings. The wings are always large and cooked properly (which sounds a little crazy, but after seeing "bloody" wings at other establishments, one begin to appreciate a properly cooked wing). I've noticed at other wing places, the prices seem to go up, up, up, and the wing size tends to go down, down, down, down. This is not the case here.
While the menu will tell you that you can split a large order into two separate flavors, it doesn't tell you that you can mix flavors as well. Lemme just say...mixing brings on a whole new flavor concept. At a restaurant in Atlanta, I had some hot-lemon-yaki wings. They were fabulous. Since I do not live in Atlanta, it's hard to get hot-lemon-yaki. Not so at Jefferson's...simply ask to combine lemon-pepper with their hot-yaki. You will not be disappointed. It's hot, it's tangy, it's perfection on a bone.
We have also tried the double dipped wings. This is an awesome taste treat in itself. They fry the wings, dip them in hot sauce (but don't worry, it doesn't make it too spicy), then they drop them back in the fryer, and then will dip them in whatever sauce you like after that. YUMMO.
For dessert, you have to have a fried pie. This is like the fried pies that your granny used to make, hot, fresh, now. And you have to get it with ice cream. They are cooked to order, have many different flavors (chocolate pecan, oh my), and the ice cream just rounds the whole thing out. We usually split, if we get dessert, because we are too dang full from the wings.
Come on, it's bar food!. Been to this Jefferson's three times and have never been disappointed. The fried oysters are really good and not at all over cooked. I like my fried oysters crisp outside but NOT cooked crisp through. French fries are just french fries. The dill pickles are great as are the boneless chicken wings.
The only thing that bothered me was when i went there not long ago - I noticed a pickup truck parked almost in front of the door in the fire lane and it was there for probably 45 minutes or more. I noticed a man and a young boy leaving and get in the truck a drive away. I asked my waitress if she knew who that person was and she replied, "Yeah, that's Jason, the owner."
Not really that big of a deal and certainly has nothing to do with the food or the service, but...
Some of my favorite wings. I've been to the original in Jacksonville and I have to say the Hoover version has failed to match the ambiance, and service! The wings double dipped with hot sauce on the side is the way to go and they are definitely worth trying for anyone who likes a good wing! If prices continue to increase with continued deterioration in service ill reserve my trips to Jeffersons for one of there other locations or the original...
Tried to have dinner there with my son after a football game on a Monday or Tuesday around 8 pm the nasty stares said it all when we walked into the dining area slow day closing early we left... Appears I'm not the only one that has noticed how poor the service is!
Visited Jefferson's yesterday and had 6 Boneless Wings and curly fries. I ordered the wings Double Dipped (which is typicallys served dry but had them to toss them in hot), they were fantastic. It took appoximately 12 minutes for our party of 4 to be served. Best experience yet at Jeffersons!
Great daily specials. The daily specials are good and really good. Great value. Fun place.
Bar food. Good variety of bar food for decent prices.
The wings were really delicious. the atmosphere was very very family the boys had a wonderful time playing video games. the staff of sweet girls were very patient with our boys while serving food and making change 4 very excited boys playing video games. I recommend jefferson's
Lotta food for the money. I've passed this place lots of times and today I finally stopped in for lunch around 1:30. There were only a few other people in there; I'm guessing I missed the lunch rush. The waitress was quick to drop off a menu and take my drink order but when she brought refills (which she did every time the glass was empty--I never had to wait) I think she brought me regular coke instead of diet coke. I'm not a huge fan of fried pickles but I ordered a half order just to try something different and I'm glad I did. They were very good. I don't know if they make the ranch dressing in house or if it is delivered pre-made but it doesn't taste like any I've had anywhere else. VERY tasty! I For lunch I ordered 10 wings. I substituted fries for the chips that come with them for a dollar more. The fries were a tad over done, a little too crisp but not too bad.
The wings were ginormous! I've had wings at several other places but compared to the wings at Jefferson's other places get their wings from canaries. I've never seen wings so big. My only complaint was the sauce was dripping off of them. I prefer my wings not be so "gloppy" but that's more a question of personal taste. I know some people like them wetter than others. The buffalo flavor was just right, not too hot, not to boring.
Other reviews for this place talk about the different kinds of oysters available. I wouldn't know about that--you couldn't pay me to eat an oyster. But when it comes to wings I think i have a new favorite place.
they also have daily specials--sixty cent wings, seventy-five cent oysters, shrimp, philly sandwiches. With all the TVs and the high ceilings I imagine it can get pretty loud when Alabama or Auburn is playing. If it's game night don't go here for quiet conversation, go here for great tasting wings and fried pickles.
Best place ever!! Great Food at a great place!!! Service was EXCELLENT, especially the server LaKesha she is AMAZING we always request her because she is THE BOMB!! I truly love this place!!!! Love Peace Hot Wings!!!
Order To-go.... So first impression of the restaurant was on a gameday and it first it seemed "cute" that little kids were playing catch on the sidewalk - until they did not stop as we attempted to enter the restaurant. They just politely threw over us..
The restaurant wasn't very busy however it took a moment for the wait staff to acknowledge us which was odd. We felt were disrupting their conversations. It seemed like they were all relatives having a family gathering.
The only thing that saved the experience was the food. We ordered wings and the loaded fries - by far some of the best wings in Birmingham. We noticed as we ate that their takeout business was booming. After the service we could see why! If it were not for the great food we would have never went back. I recommend calling in an order and eating somewhere else!
Family friendly sports setting. My family usually eats at Jefferson's once per week; generally on Wing Night (Wed. and Sat. during football season, Wed. and Sun. otherwise). The quality of the food is good and is consistent. Their wings are of the two best in Birmingham. The kids love the video games and always have fun. The servers and owners are always friendly and service is prompt. The place is very clean, which is especially easy to note if you dined in the spot's previous restaurant. The only cons I can think of are that they seem to have removed their outdoor seating, which would be nice with the nicer weather, and they don't offer a quesadilla, which would fit with the restaurant's fare.
Simple Food Done Right. My family has dined at Jefferson's three times over the past month and we have enjoyed our food (and the service) each time. I really enjoyed the Jefferson's burger (bbq sauce and bacon). The wait staff has always been attentive and made sure our visit was a pleasant one. The prices are a bargain too. We will be back because of the food, services and prices.
Good food, good price, good service.. My 14 year old son and I went on a weeknight during one of their specials. They have food specials each night and ours was on the night of the "wing" special - 50 cents each. I ordered raw oysters and a hamburger. My sons ate wings. Our service was spot on. The food was good - my hamburger was juicy. The wings weren't the best we have ever had but they were good. All of our food was good and our bill was very reasonable. It was nice not to spend a fortune and to get good food at the same time. Fun atmosphere - lots of tvs and sports on. My son loved it. We will be back.
Good Service, good food. Is this place spectacular? No, but my husband and I went today for lunch and we enjoyed it! I got a dozen raw oysters and six baked oysters. My husband got a cheeseburger and onion rings. We enjoyed everything. The oysters were on the smallish side but were very fresh-tasting. The baked oysters were very good, but a bit small as well. I know the restaurant doesnt always have control of oyster size so no demerits there!
The cheeseburger was juicy and the rings were very good and were served very hot!
I have seen some complaints of service on here but today, at least, they were "spot-on"! Quick friendly service. I coudl have done without the Daisy Duke shorts but I guess my husband probably liked them. The atmosphere was a very comfortable pub type setting. It wasnt loud but had a fun feel. We will try this again.
Great food and great service. We were a party of abot 25 including kids. They were very organized!! I had the grilled chicken caeser and it was wonderful. We will be back!
Great food! I have been here several times since they opened in mid-December & every time has been better then the last! If you haven't been, you should!
I was highly highly impressed to have such a great restraunt so close to home. I have been here many times and couldn't be happier. The selection is great and not only are the servers cute but also very attentive. I look forward to the full bar and daily specials that this place offers.

It's a hometown sports bar. The special sauce for the chicken fingers are awesome along!!! The shrimp jammers are great.
The atmosphere is great for everyone and so is the menu!
Great prices and large TVs.. I love the Cajun Chicken Salad as it is tasty (not healthy) and has plenty of meat. One of the best salads in town. After visiting again, The burgers are now good but I didn't care for the catfish as it wasn't prepared like you would get at say Bogues on 280 (i.e. southern style). The prices are reasonable on everything but liquor - which is like 8$ a shot or something. Luckily the beer wasn't too expensive.
I have been in several times and had great service but I guess that depends on your server (as does any place).
As a side note, I do like the large TV's that are everywhere. Too bad football season just ended.
Best Wings in Birmingham!!!!!!!!
Glad to have a new place like this in the area. The food is really good and the wait staff was wonderful. Keep up the good work!
Great new addition to the neighborhood! The menu selection is huge. The food was great as was the service. We went on opening night and you would have thought they had been open for years! Full service bar, arcade games for the kids, etc. I give them an A+
There was no wait, which was great. They have a good selection of beers. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We got the fried pickles and fried mushrooms for appetizers. Both were delicious, the fried pickles had a very nice light and crisp batter. I got the fish tacos. They were very good, and both sauce options were tasty. The sweet potato fries come with the best sauce. I wish all places had this sauce with Sweet potato fries.
Came here to meet up with friends. Very casual and comfortable atmosphere. Staff was extremely helpful and attentive to dietary concerns. I had the Black and Blue burger and it was delightful. There are large TVs showing different sport events, but the volume was not overwhelming. I was able to visit and have conversations without raising my voice. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to when I can return.
I have eaten here once and it was delicious!! I got the honey bbq wings with tortilla chips(I believe they are homemade) the wings was delicious.they was cooked just right being a little Krispy and just the right amount of sauce. The tortilla chips was also delicious! I could have just eaten a whole plate full of them!! Even the celery slices tasted great!! And the ranch dressing was very good!! I also got some sweet potato fries.they was very good everything was freshly cooked.and my server was very nice and helpful and gave me recommendations on what he liked. It was just a very great experience that sadly you don’t get at many places anymore. So give them a try!!
We first went to a big chain wings place and they were full of excuses and high prices. We got up from that table and left without eating. we really wanted some good wings so we got on Google maps and found this place Jeffersons.
they were very welcoming and accommodating. The wings were big and good and we have found us a new wing place. thanks for not being full of excuses Jeffersons. we will be back!
Jefferson's has the best wings and sauces. The wings are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I like to try different flavors. Some of my favorites are Caribbean Jerk, Mango Habanero, and Honey Siracha.
