Review The Tides - Hoodsport

This quaint little diner had surprisingly excellent food. They have wonderful service, and their prices are very reasonable. I will be dining here again.

We've only eaten here once. Had breakfast. The service and the food was good. No complaints.

By far the best breakfast in the area. Great service. And now outdoor seating with heat too? Come eat and support our local business. Love it

I get the pleasure of heading up to Hoodsport for scuba diving about four times a year, and I look forward to starting the day off at The Tides every time! The food is fantastic quality and the staff is amazing! Every time I get to eat here I feel like family! The restaurant is always clean, and they have been very good about social distancing rules during this crazy year. I cannot wait to get back up to Hoodsport again so I can swing by!

Fried Cod was buttery and delicious, I have a shellfish allergy, but my girlfriend really enjoyed the fried oysters, clam chowder, and fried shrimp. Staff was nice and checked on us frequently despite a heavy dinner rush.

I’ve never been so rudely treated in my life. I’d give them zero stars if I could. My family owns a vacation home down on the hood canal and we go there a lot. I’ve always enjoyed the area and the people until now. I know the Covid thing has everyone on edge but this crossed the line. We went to the tides and wanted to be sit outside. The server then told us we had to wear masks at our table. I know the governors rule is to wear the mask to the table. That’s fine and understood. However I’ve never heard that you have to wear it at the table while eating and drinking. How exactly is that supposed to work? I asked where they had got this rule from as it’s not part of the governors proclamations. We were never rude and had only asking for clarification. Appears that they decided they didn’t have to answer our questions about where they were getting this new rule of having to keep mask on at your table outside. Next thing we knew we were being forced to leave. A large man, I can only assume was the manager was very aggressive and was physically trying to intimidate and remove me. We left and I can assure you will never return. I honestly thought he was going to try to hit me. I will make sure all the locals know about this. The behavior was completely rude and unprofessional.

I had the special crab 🦀 & shrimp 🦐 omelette. With a side of hollandaise sauce. Oh my goodness it was amazing. Like the best omelette I've ever had. Was cooked perfectly, light and fluffy, seafood was fresh and tasty. I took half home and reheated in my oven and it was just as fabulous the next day. Great service too from Jackie.🤩🤩

The cod fish basket was great. 3 big chunks of cod lightly battered, cooked perfectly. Fries were a bit limp. Hubby had decaf coffee. Our friendly on the spot waitress made fresh for him. Forgot to take photos. Will next time.
