Manoa Barbeque is small place you might have overlooked but the food holds it own with other more familiar places like L&L or Konas etc. they have a slicer and a grinder so they can serve more fresh cuts and burgers but also have a classic local fkavors and deli restaurant environment that reminds me of when i was a keki. Ask to try their non sweetened ice tea.

First of all, we weren't even greeted when we walked in. I had to speak to him first 🙄. He didn't ask us if we needed help nor offered to answer questions we might have had. Period point blank, the absolute WORST customer service I have EVER had! Anyway, we still ordered (big mistake). My friend ordered the kalua pig and I had the loco moco. My friend was visiting from out of town and this was her first time having local food. She didn't want to eat anymore local food the whole trip because it was so awful!! The kalua pig was mostly cabbage and the flavor sucked! Kalua pig naturally has a salty flavor. Idk what in the world he did to his to make it taste so awful, but it was the worst Kalua pig I have ever had. It tasted like pork from a can. Moving on to my dish, the loco moco..where do I even start!! The hamburger meat was rubbery and the gravy tasted like it was a premade package. This place was an absolute disgrace! He should be ashamed of himself and I was embarrassed taking my friend there with her impression that that is what local food tastes like. ZERO STARS!!

Visiting from Kansas. Maybe I just don't get it, but this is not a happy dude. Or a nice dude. I regret buying anything from him, as he really doesn't want to do this.
The food, however, was great. I got BBQ short rib, chicken & teriyaki steak. My other dish was beef stew and lau lau pork.
I also wanted to get saimin, a historical local take on ramen. I got the spam saimin and I gotta say the broth is indeed tasty and the noodles really are different to ramen, hokkien, etc.
I was looking for some traditional Hawaiian from a hole in the wall. I paid way more for that than going to L&L.
I'd tell you more about it, but the poop stain of a human who cooked it didn't have time to tell me anything. How do I know that? He said: 'I'm busy. I don't have time to tell you.'
