Very friendly service. If you like coffee, the affogato (espresso with gelato) was great, and the affogato supremo (another scoop plus whipping cream) even better. The gelato was delicious.
So rich and creamy. But it's more of a warehouse than a storefront. So don't expect it to look like a ice cream shop. They still serve customers here but it seems more like a place where you buy tubs.
The staff was also very friendly and helpful.
After visiting both their retail locations (Haleiwa and Kahala Mall), I thought I would take a visit to where the magic happens!
Depending on the day and if they are crazy busy or not, they will show you how and where the gelato is made. So interesting and tastes amazing straight out of the machine!
You can special order gelato or ice cream from them. You can get them in the 5 liter tub or quart sizes. Last time I went their a few weeks ago, we got a 5 liter tub of dark chocolate ice cream, and a quart each of peanut butter chocolate chip, green tea and chocolate Oreo. Need I say more. I love b
Slightly pricey, but it was really tasty and they gave a free waffle cone chip which was a nice touch.
I didn't know it was the main factory that prepares for the Kahala Mall gelato place and what not. The staff were really cool. There is a small selection to choose from and there are a couple tables outside. and I mean 2 tables. :-) It is the main factory. Stop by and peek in.
I've been going to IL Gelato Hawaii for nearly 10 years and every time I go I'm still impressed with the quality of the gelato and anything else I order. My favorite menu item is undoubtedly the milkshake. You get to pick any flavor of gelato or sorbetto that is available, either 3 scoops for a 16oz

This is my go to place to buy quarts of gelato for home and for parties. It's an awesome present for friends and family and the flavor is amazing.

perfect in my sense for the price. it wasnt cold to the teeth but not warmth to straight melting. perfect to a hot day.
