Review Ono Loco Tacos - Honolulu

Not really a dine in restaurant, some seating inside and two outdoor tables so it’s more of a takeout restaurant. We order here on Tuesdays when they have the specials. The tacos are simple but the flavors are good. We get one of each and enjoy each one. Service is always met with a smile.

First time in Hawaii and it’s nice to have found this place. We stopped in for breakfast. We walked up to the counter to order and the lady was kind & greeted us with a smile. We ordered 4 breakfast burritos. Wow! Huge and tasted GREAT! Homemade beans was a huge plus.. don’t like when restaurants use canned beans. Everything tasted homemade and was made fresh. Must stop by to eat if your in Hawaii.

This place gets an A+for accommodating two people in Wheelchairs. Their regular indoor seating has a high barstool table which would not work for us. The owner carried in the table and chairs from outside and let us eat inside so my 95 year old aunty and uncle wouldn’t get too hot while eating outside. When the lunch crowd rush came, we were sitting right in the middle of where customers come to the counter to order. The staff seemed fine with us sitting there and just worked around us. This made for an enjoyable outing for my aunty and uncle. Plus we got a 15% discount because my uncle is a vet and it was a Wednesday. Big Mahalo to the staff for accommodating an elderly couple. It made our day. Street tacos were delicious. They have a condiment bar where you add on your choice of sauces which make it so Ono. My friend had the Chile relleno which was also good.

Great food and flavors with helpful and friendly service. We didn't expect such great Mexican food from a chain but were very pleasantly surprised. The pickled hot carrots and fresh salsa were delicious and reminded my co-worker of similar places back home in San Diego. One of the better places to stop for lunch in the area.

Really clean burrito spot in a sort of hidden spot next to Starbucks. I dont know who Don is but his veggie burrito smacks and the Verde sauce is no joke. Super cool local art on the wall. And an employee and beautiful soul got a photo of us here. So sweet

Had carne asada tacos. They were delicious. Plenty of different salsas to top them with. If you like TJ style tacos it’s the place. I’ll be back for half price Taco Tuesday. The cashier was friendly and told me about taco Tuesday!

Seriously, the best tacos on the island! I’ve been living on Oahu for 4 years and I’m mad that I just found this place! The toasted salsa is the best! Tacos are delicious and the chiles rellenos are the best! Not to mention the awesome customer service Kayla gave us. Definitely will be back over and over again.

The restaurant was clean & the service is quick. This place is great for taking the family. The California fries and tacos are very tasty. The California Fries is a good portion. Their spicy salsa taste so good.

Very tasty food. I had their pork chimichanga and my husband had the menudo. That was a delicious chimichanga and the menudo was great as well. Their menudo was tastier than the menudo we had at Ensenada, Mexico! Definitely going back again.

This evening I thought I’d try the wahiawa location for the first time. First impressions are everything, it was very inviting. Customer service was great although I wish I could say the same about several things. I ordered one of each (al pastor, lengua, carne asada) all three meats were very dry. I also ordered horchata, flavor was great but it this drink had a very unpleasant texture almost like thick slime is the best I can describe it. Horchata should not be like this. Price point and taste compared to several competitor locations in this area for taco Tuesday and coming from a Hispanic background this wouldn’t be my first choice.

Customer Service is 5 stars...but food is pretty whack. Tacos were kinda cold and carne asada had zero flavor. El Marriachi still is the best mexican joint on the island—my opinion

This place is the best Mexican restaurant on Oahu. It is clean, service is generally good and the food is as good as the food I cook at home. From the time it opened until I moved back to Ensenada, Baja, I was grateful it was about 2 miles from home. Too bad there are no cold Tecates but the aguas frescas are really good. There are a few reasons I give it 4 stars rather than 5. The food clearly deserves 5 stars. But the portions are on the small side and the prices are on the high side. I do know that it is because you just can’t get the ingredients locally very easily so John brings them in. I haven’t been there for a while and tortillas hechos a mano would be a welcome addition. Commercially made tortillas in Honolulu aren’t very good. And you cannot buy frijoles Peruanos at Sack N Save. So the food is great. Thanks Juan for a good place to eat home style food on Oahu!

I lived in the Bay Area California for 4 years and have spent many a moment at many legit taquerias. When I moved back home to Hawaii, the biggest thing missing here was an authentic taqueria. I am beyond words that this place has opened up! While the prices are a little on the high side, I feel that it is worth it. The food is authentic and delicious!!!

Love the food - I think it's one of he best on the island. I agree it's a bit overpriced though. But at least hey now have a rewards program so I can get some discounts and free food / drink. Owner is very friendly. I def recommend trying it!

Food was good but was a bit over-priced especially to served on styrofoam plates. $13.99 for a chimichanga served with a little guacamole & sour cream? $3.50 for a single taco?? Hubby got their special fries, we each got a bottle soda & he got a water. Total was over $48 😳 FYI - putting freshly fried food onto styrofoam can be highly toxic.

Carnitas burrito was good yesterday. Today I had street tacos and the asada had no flavor and the "home made" tortillas...really? I also tried 2 hard shell shredded beef tacos and they gave me 1 store bought shell and 1 shell that was fried... this crap won't fly for those of us who miss mexican food.. I'm going to stick to the wahiwa shops for my taco fix.

This place has the best tacos in Hawaii. So good that we went out of our way to eat there 3 times. Amazing. We loved the crisp beef tacos and the street tacos. Love it!

Went to check this place out cause I was craving Mexican food. I'm really glad I went. The food was amazing. It tasted so much like the food my mom makes. Service was amazing. Try the chiles gueritos and flan. I can't wait to come back.

It was Great! The staff was very friendly, the place was clean, and the food was excellent! The kitchen was a tad slow, but they are learning, and it didn't take too long. I will most definitely eat here again.

Got quesadilla and carne asada burrito. Tastes fantastic, with lots of options. As stated, a bit overpriced but it's Hawaii, so...
