I enjoyed a Happy Hour Pinot with the Ahi Poke Bowl - ample and delicious. As the crowd increased I marveled at the calm interaction between the diminished-to-just-two staff members - who kept the vibe in the busy room relaxed and happy - despite the large trays of drinks and food being distributed. As my peers joined me at the bar we ordered a beautiful Kalbi Beef platter to share. There are many eateries within walking distance from Executive Centre, but why go anywhere when you can dine in style at Hukilau - just an elevator away from sleepy time.
Check out their daily specials--the owners have an amazing palate and have a such unique and delicious ways of combining flavours. Laulau stew is great, and their cold ginger chicken salad is so refreshing on a hot day.
Great drinks and the friendliest people. Also, the Malasada a la mode is the best thing ever. It wasn't on the menu that I saw, but I asked if they had dessert. Do yourself a favor and do the same.
I was staying at the Aston, so this place was super convenient, tasty, not tourist-over priced, and the folks here helped me out with questions about the area (where to eat, shop, etc.) all with great success. What more could you ask for?

What a beautiful venue. A huge bar lots of seating and the food is to die for. Local style cuisine with a gourmet touch of eloquence. All made from local produce grown right here in Hawaii. Favorites like poke, Rib eye, Luau Stew, my favorite kalbi short ribs with Kim chee fried rice. Fresh garden salads, and a huge bar ready to appease the happiest of drinkers and non alcoholic beverages alike. Also another Hawaiian custom that is struggling to make a comeback is live music. Local Hawaiian families have a knack for music, and what better than to add that to the other qualities of The Hukilau sports bar and grill. On any given day you can catch the latest in up and coming local artist male or female. I know because I myself play and entertain every Monday for happy hour. From 5 to 8.
