One of my favorite spots in all of Hawaii. DEFINTALLY worth going. Sunday breakfast is my absolute favorite time to go. Moved away 2 years ago and still visit when I am on the island.
Very good food and experience. Parking is close and the atmosphere is fun
Have eaten here often with different people and always come away loving it. The food is exceptional.
First time there. The food and service were great for our party if nine. Nice atmosphere. Definitely going back.
Oxtail Stew is the best ever, gotta luv me some oxtail stew.
The food was delicious and the service was great! Also the atmosphere was enjoyable
My first time there with my Aunty and cousin and we love it there.
Favorite restaurant to hang out with friends...great ambiance, delicious food, and fabulous staff!!
There's such an extensive menu that it's dizzying 👀 The service was good, if I'm not mistaken, we were served by a wonderful girl- Rose. We were seated outside, since we had a lot of people, it was so hot outside and our waitress carefully protected us from the sun with a curtain 👍🏼 Next time I will go there again. They also have a bakery.
Go to place for Laksa. Place has nice ambiance. Great for big groups and family gatherings or lunch with a few of your friends.
Food is great and portions are good.
Try it on special occasions and it's best to reserve ahead of time. Enjoy 🤙🏽
Stumbled upon this restaurant by sheer luck and it was absolutely the best dining experience we had in Honolulu. From the hospitality to the quick service, decent pricing and on top of it all the delicious fresh food, it was a perfect experience. Highly recommended!!!
Nice bakery, desserts are mouth-watering and delicious!
We have ordered desserts here several times and were very satisfied. I liked the most Layered Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake, it is delicate and you can feel the three separate chocolate layers . Panna cotta was smooth, creamy and had the right sweetness.
Very tender ox tail soup and special smothered porkchop over fried rice. The nice touch was the wait staff brought out hot oil and sriracha to add to our dishes for a different flavor. Overall great service was noticed.
The world food tour continued …. At Panya Bistro in the Hokua condo. We stopped in for an early dinner after seeing Beautiful at the Concert Hall (a bravura performance by the cast).
We arrived early (4pm) so the restaurant was pretty empty but were told by the hostess about their 90-minute time limit policy. Okay, better to tell us up front than during our meal. Service was leisurely so that might have been somewhat of a concern but it worked out satisfactorily.
We started with a couple of Hendricks gin and tonics with limes instead of the more proper slice of cucumber. A very refreshing beginning …though I wish bartenders would note what garnish goes with certain gins.
We ordered three dishes: Pork Chops over fried rice, Pad Thai with chicken and Stir Fried Vegetables with Beef. First off, the pork chop dish is huge! Slices of breaded boneless chops are placed over a subtle fried rice (Chinese style … on the drier side) and covered with a very sweet tomato sauce. The texture and taste reminded me of waffles with maple syrup. It was very good but the sweetness of the tomato sauce was off-putting to me; not bad, but unexpected. The Pad Thai was fine; nothing to complain about. The highlight dish for me was the stir fried vegetables with beef. The vegetables (broccoli, green beans, slices of carrot and mushroom) were crisp and the cubes of beef were very tender. The sauce was thin but savory; it let the beautiful vegetables take center stage. I could have just eaten this dish with a bowl of rice.
No room for dessert but I finished my meal with a Thai iced coffee. The coffee was excellent and shone through the generous serving of milk. So cool and refreshing; I could have consumed two glasses.
Final thoughts … we hadn’t been to Panya Bistro in a long time; the food was very good and the service was fine (we left after 93 minutes). Parking in the Hokua is convenient and free with validation. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable.
We had great drinks and Appitizers. We were at the bar so service was quick, but not overly friendly. Parking garages just around the corner. Great desserts too.. outdoor seating and clean bathrooms. I go again, but maybe servers have a little more smiles.
Hard to find good salads nowadays but I found it ! First floor of Hokua building easy parking at garage and they will validate . Will be back for other menu and the delirious looking desserts
Great place, need to train the staff to be more receptive though. Came 30 minutes early for reservation and they told me I couldn't sit yet, came back 30 minutes later and sat at the exact same table that was open when I came first.
The food was excellent however the server was also kind of impolite.
Stopped for dinner yesterday with a friend and everything was very good. We had the garlic shrimp scampi, beef curry, gyoza and cube steak. The cube steak was the best out of these. The menu has many excellent options including burgers and sandos. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.
Great variety of food. Authentic and tasty Cantonese, Malaysian, and Singapore cuisines, much as I remember them from my time living in Asia. They also have hawaiian and western foods such as poke, sandwiches, pasta, salads, and sinfully rich desserts. They even had excellent espresso, as good as any i had while living in Europe.
They serve generous portions--we had leftovers to take home. Prices are mid range: not expensive, but not cheap. I find the prices quite reasonable for the excellent quality.
This one is a must try. Even if you're not a fan of Asian food, you will find something to like. We will definitely be back.
Panya is best described as part bakery, part bistro, part Hong Kong style cafe with some legitimate HK style dishes. Being of HK descent and having the fortune of enjoying HK style tea restaurants, I can honestly say this place stacks up to its counterparts where the fare is inspired from.
The menu runs the gamut of Asian, Hawaiian, and western cuisines, but it's wise to stick to the Asian menu items.
The ox tail, in particular, is done very well. The red wine based sauce is incredibly rich and scented with fresh rosemary. The meat to veggie ratio is very meat-generous, and the accompanying bowl of rice will tempt you to consume the entire bowl of sauce.
The laksa is also a standout. Flavours are strong and deep, unmistakenly Malaysian style without the usual heat. The fish balls are tender and smooth... It's hard to argue that they carefully source their ingredients.
Their gyozas are delicate, with a soft exterior shell protecting a nicely flavoured meat mixture inside. The mini octopus was equally criapy and delicious, and thought it may seem weird that it's served with a dish of mayo on top of soy sauce, don't ask and just dip and try. The odd combination is oddly satisfying.
Overall, prices are certainly higher than what you'd expect from a HK cafe, but they are in line with other outlets in and around Waikiki.
I highly recommend this place.
Free parking is available. Make sure you get the ticket validated.
Meant to have breakfast, ended up to brunch. Great food and awesome service. This time I enjoyed the meal. 😋
Oxtail was very good, had it with salad instead of rice.
This was a second choice as our first was a wait of 45 minutes. And I’m glad we found it. Ambiance, food and service were incredible. Highly recommend
