Taiyo Ramen - Honolulu - Photo album

Quick service and very attentive staff. Food is great and they dish it out very fast. My spouse and I shared Shrimp Fried Rice, 4-piece Gyoza, Fried Shrimp 🍤 and Kim Chee. The fried shrimp is spectacular, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Awesome! Enjoy 🤙🏽
After many mishaps with the food in Hawaii, we did not have high expectations. This food court ramen restaurant really exceeded all my expectations. The ramen noodle was bouncy, which was unexpected. The soup seasoning was a bit on the heavy side, and that is just the way I like it. I will defin
Good comfort food when you love fried rice, Ramen, soups! Kimchee has a thicker paste to it. Waiter never let my water get half empty! Love that ❤️
Was nice. It's been 10 years sin e i left Hawaii. Still same owner and still good noodles. Good price. I hope we could have more smile from them...
Going to miss this place due to this corner being bought out for construction of another 40 story high rise condominium project. Hope they find another place…close. Love their ramen. Since they have to vacate, thought I’d finally fork out the money and try their oxtail ramen. Love that the meat just
I’ve been going to Taiyo since they were on Kapiolani Blvd and it’s still as good as ever! I usually get the BUTTER RAMEN with side order CHAR SIU and GYOZA. The BEEF CURRY is also EXCELLENT, authentic Japanese style curry. The best part is they’re OPEN LATE. It’s a great place to stop by on the way
20 years ago, I worked at the baseball card store behind the original location; used to eat here at least twice a week for a year before I went to college. Back in town visiting and heard they would be closing soon. Ordered my old favorites - pork fried rice, beef curry, and gyoza. It's like I went
Good ramen and service every time we came. Very sweet auntie who’s children friendly. Their kimchi fried rice is really good too. Warm and welcoming atmosphere.
We had the kitsune udon & katsu chicken curry. This little hole in the wall is a total gem! Such great food (with huge portions!) & amazing service. Plus the staff here is very sweet.
I regret not trying this place sooner. I've always passed it up because I thought it was just another ramen shop. I was totally wrong. Although the menu isn't vast, they do have a lot more than just ramen. The prices are very reasonable and the portions generous. When I walked in, a table was being
I really like the kimchi fried rice here. It comes with a bowl of soup and a side of kimchi. The mapo tofu rice tasted very porky, we suspect that they use the ramen broth as base. I can’t comment too much about mapo tofu since I’d prefer the Chinese style. Nevertheless, I am sure some might appreci
Came for the kimchi fried rice that was recommended by a friend and went home a very full and satisfied customer. Portion is huge. Service was fast and friendly.
A great place to eat at when you miss the dinner times cause they close super late past midnight. The dishes are local but catered more towards Japanese cuisine. You'll enjoy their Ramen, Curry, and Fried Rice dishes. Their oxtail dish is a great try. Their fried rice is a bit pricey if you think ab
We were visiting from Seattle. A friend who graduated from the university took us here, and we loved it. We loved it so much during our 9 day stay we have made it to Taiyo Ramen for two meals. I would definitely suggest this to friends. I had the beef curry and it was like a stew. Huge portion
Awesome ramen and fried rice! I ordered the Katsu Ramen bowl and added a boiled egg (50 cents for half an egg or a dollar for the whole egg) and I couldn't have been more pleased. The bowls run around $11ish, but you get A LOT for your buck. The service was phenomenal and because my group and I spen
Food is still as good as I remember from when I first tried it over 10 years ago. Don't know if their logo or name changed, but still great. They used to have a mix with ramen, fried rice, and gyoza I believe which was awesome. Hope maybe they'll bring that back one day. We got there at almost 8pm I
