Chocolate is so delicious and is healthier because of the natural process used in making it.
Update-2/11/22 Madre Chocolate no longer has a retail space. You can order online now. Still delicious and new bars were added recently.

Oh boy was I happy to find this place! Excellent chocolate, from local milk chocolate (made with coconut milk) & ginger, to super dark with cardamom and coffee. So many options. I look forward to trying them all. Limited hours, double check before you go. Street parking or garages are nearby.

Bought almost every kind of bar they sell. Super friendly and happy to share their knowledge of chocolate.

We did a make your own chocolate bar class and it was super fun. Paris was really fun and informative. It was interesting to learn about the whole process with Madre. The chocolate sampling was great.

Really special. If you have a deep love of quality chocolate, Madre offers that a rare bean-to-bar, small batch quality you can only get in a few places. The chocolate here ranges from $6-15 a bar, so if you're the kind of person who can eat a Hershey bar and be satisfied, save your cash. If you crave rich, unique flavors though, this place was meant for you.

I finally made a trip inside, I will be forever ruined toward all the rest of lesser chocolate in the world. The sadness now knowing true art in chocolate is rare and the inspired flavor of Madre made my heart sing. I am from the South West and so surprised the Horchata bar captured that taste perfectly! Of my three top favorites I bought full bars to stretch out and indulge a chunk at a time... did not last long.

Freshly made chocolates by the owner & his lovely wife in flavors which are as unique as the islands. The Coconut Milk & Caramelized Ginger Hawaiian Chocolate is Ah. May. Zing!! It had just been made the day before by the owners on the other side of the nation.
They craft small batch chocolates and work directly with Hawaiian farmers & cooperatives to support sustainable and humane practices. This additional care can be tasted in every delicious bite!
Madre Chocolates also has live music. In the back of the store there's a cafe style setting where they served us Aztecan hot chocolate while we were serenaded by an acoustic crooner.

Oahu's first bean to bar chocolate maker. Located in historic Chinatown with a building that showcases the history with exposed brick and wood. The staff is well educated on the types of chocolate and how to pair the chocolate with various food and drink. Friendly staff that can answer questions and provide insight make this an enjoyable experience. Plus, the chocolate is incredible!
