I ordered for dinner , the boneless kalbi with egg and brown rice, it was flavorful and a good amount of meat. My order was ready in less than 10 min. It was about 830p.m. when I placed my order and there was no line.

Known for their tempura (batter fry), the tendon was excellent w/ extra sauce on the side. Oyster, shrimp, & pumpkin was excellent. Hawaiian Kale is the best kale can be (not saying a lot). Pleasant staff with a unique set up. The staff served from the center, so expect some passing of cups & plates, or sit at the coffee shop - style counter for the best service. Expect $16-$35 entrees. Unique Japanese décor includes several different patterns on the walls.

I was 4 times in this restaurant, the first time with a local who recommended me this restaurant. And I was every time very satisfied! I don't understand the bad reviews. The food is super delicious (also good for vegetarian, there are options without fish). And the staff was very friendly, helpful and fast. I really love this restaurant. One of my favorite restaurants in Honolulu!

When we arrived for lunch they where serving fixed sets and sides to order. The price on its own is a little high for lunch, but the quality and the food made it well worth it. Dishes where brought out when we finished what we had so we never felt rushed.
For the most part it is bar seating; there are a few small booths on the end. Going with even a small group of four may be difficult if you plan to talk a lot while eating.
The tempura is light and crispy and doesn't leave an oily fee on your lips. Chawanmushi was light and creamy. If you are into it, the soft shelled is excellent.
