Sashimi and nigiri are fresh and served with Japanese basil which makes the fish very tasty once it gets into your mouth! Servers makes you feel welcomed. I highly recommend this place.
Oishii it's a very good place to relax and enjoy the tranquil serene aurora while having a great lunch!
The food was most excellent, fresh, and flavor-filled. I love the intimate cafe with on site parking. We sat incise, but the terrace area was very inviting as well. I'll now have to go back for dinner. Loved the Sakura Parfait and the Cafe Ole Mousse.... must haves for dessert. Can't wait to get back there. ALOHA!
Service is super. A bit pricey, but quality foods.
Their chiralshizushi is excellent! Love the service and ambiance
I love the excellent food and the super service! It's Japanese food, but prepared in new ways, with new looks, and tastes great! The 'open air' atmosphere, with the lush foliage along one side and the fresh breeze make for a relaxing, fun, memorable experience! I love Sakura Terrace! And free parking!
Very tasty and good price value, nice atmosphere ...
Really good, always drove by and decided to stop by really good
Love the good and service here!
My husband and I came here after our maternity photoshoot, so we didn't have a reservation or anything, but they were able to seat us upon arrival. We got there around 6:30pm. It took about 5 minutes for the workers to notice we were standing at the entrance, and took a while to have our orders taken. The place wasn't packed or super busy, but felt that the service was a bit slow. I am pregnant so I did opt out of eating raw things, and the waiter didn't seem like he knew what to recommend based on that restriction. Nonetheless, my husband enjoyed his omurice which had the rice flavored in tomato/ketchup, which was nice. I had a soft-shelled crab roll and miso butterfish and both were decent but not memorable. I did however enjoy the dessert at the end which is their homemade Sakura Terrace ice cream inside a shelled cone with mochi and red bean. Omurice and dessert are solid here. Didn't get a chance to try the raw fish, so will have to visit again to give feedback on that. Men's restroom is located outside of the building and the Ladies' is located by the entrance. There's a parking lot so parking was not an issue too.
Sakura Terrace is a modern authentic Japanese shop. The interior is more orthodox and clean, with plenty of wood. The food is presented with visual pizazz, almost imitating a Michelin starred restaurant. The taste is truthful and down to earth. No unnecessary garnish. Solid and fresh ingredients. Prepared with deifnite care.
First of all, Sakura Terrace is absolutely a 5-star restaurant. If you haven't been here in Waikiki, please just go. Reasonable prices. Awesome taste. You'll have a great time.
But obviously there are areas to improve and this is where I get a bit critical (in a positive way). The overall food is so "simple" that it feels like a very dedicated amateur is imitating a high-end restaurant. Just to be clear, the food is great and is truthful to the freshness of the ingredients. I love this. But there's something about the imbalance between visual garnish and the overall taste & texture balance.
All Japanese restaurant caliber can be judged with their tamago. I ordered specifically the tamago for my appetizer and I could see the imitation put in but it was far from the perfect, sweet, soft, silky tamago I would expect from a top-class Japanese joint. It certainly looked like it though.
Kudos to the chef and ask him/her to continue honing their skills. In the meanwhile, let's all go enjoy a hearty meal.
It's ✨️ insanely ✨️ good and I don't feel the need to say anything more than that.
Their service is pretty good. Each dish is very big portion and reasonable. We have to come back again. There is private room, terrace, bar and dine in.
Sashimi moriawase is 5kinds of seafood sashimi, very thick cut.
Omurice is ketchup rice and scrambled egg and demi sauce, pretty good.
Saba shiotaki is very fatty and juicy and big.
Sakura flavor monaka ice cream doesn’t have enough flavor. I couldn’t taste and smell any Sakura.
Small and comfortable place in the middle of town. The quality of food and beverages is well worth the price. The service is exceptional and very attentive, but not overbearing. I love this place and will return when i want some great japanese food
Adorable spot. The vibe authentic and the food really good. Fresh. The class in the asari jiru were the freshest clams I have had in a very long time. Huge clams too! The sushi was divine and the dessert divine!
We came as a party of 7, 4 adults and 3 kids, to celebrate a family birthday. We had reservations at 630pm and were able to walk right in and be seated. The restaurant is small, but spaced well so you don’t feel cramped. Service was friendly and efficient, even when the restaurant got busy. The food was tasty. They were out of several items (hamachi kama, hearts of palm tempura), but we enjoyed what we had.
Good lunch set menu to chose from.
We ordered Chicken Nanban set, Salmon/Ikura don and Veg Tenpura. Tenpura and Nanban were good, but I found the Salmon/Ikura to be tasteless to my palate. This is just my personal opinion, so less one star.
I got the Tonkatsu bento for take-out. Everything was delicious. The Tonkatsu was cooked perfectly, juicy, tender, and seasoned perfectly. The small sides with the bento were equally great, too. I'll try to return for a dine-in experience. Highly recommend you try this restaurant.
Great menu, tasty food, polite staff, the price is right. It is sad that the restaurant turn people away at 1 o’clock, enough customers to consider keeping the restaurant open for lunch one more hour. Please consider opening a second location in Ward Village, with your menu and prices you would be successful there 🤓
Loved the food. Nice selection of sake and drinks. Ample parking in the back. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
A unique experience in a upscale Sakura restaurant. Renovated entry to the restaurant, dining tables and chairs, sushi bar, and a small fishbowl semi-private room were very nice changes. The menu of choice didn’t include teishoku meals. All items were ala carte. We ordered the beautiful ahi salad, very tasty macadamia, tofu, tender butterfish, prime rib and crispy mixed tempura. The tempura vegetables were thicker than usual and generous portions. Only one of us ordered ice cream. He loved it!
Delicious, delicious, delicious. Wonderful Izakaya if you’d like to nibble on something and enjoy some sake and beer. Sake steamed clams are out of this worldly good!
It's been a few years since I've been to this place. I was lucky enough to go for lunch when I've usually had dinner. The kid got out of school early so we both dined in.
We did not have reservations, but we were able to get a table outside. I did like that they had shade so the sun was not beaming on us. I would recommend having some Japanese music played in the background so you wouldn't have to hear the street noise. But after a while we didn't really notice it. And I ordered the salmon donburi $17.99. Yes you can get a salmon poke bowl for cheaper somewhere else. And the kid got the ribeye bento $18.99. Each meal comes with miso soup and salad. The kid devoured her meat saying it was soft as butter. And opted out of the vegetables. I tasted her vegetables and they were delicious. My salmon Donburi was delicious as well. Thick cuts that I wished had more! We ended with the Matcha ice cream which was extremely creamy and did not melt too fast. Considering I have hardly eaten out during Covid, it was nice to eat peacefully with my kid for lunch and not feel rushed.
There is limited parking in the back that you enter from King Street. Parking was full but we were able to find metered parking. We came on a Wednesday afternoon at 12 PM and it was full inside. It's nice to know that restaurants are doing well during these times. They do check for your vaccination card and take temps. Service was prompt and often considering that we sat outside along with one other couple.
The shrimp roll was delicious— kind of like walnut prawns but in a roll. Sashimi platter was lovely. Super quaint atmosphere; great for a date night or celebration too.
awesome experience! delicious food! res through yelp. fresh fish!! cannot go wrong with Sakura Terrace!
Perfect when you want something casual, but with a care for detail that makes it a little more special. Fresh and light. Epecially like their pudding and the maguro burger with truffle fries. Easy parking. Takeout order and pickup was fast and easy, staff were friendly.
