Deliciously retro old school dim sum. The beef ball and yam cake were great. Service was excellent- our pleasant server advised us against ordering too much and she was right!

We found d this restaurant while looking for something to eat while in Chinatown. It was at the tail end of the lunch rush and it was still busy. The service there is fast-paced and the waitresses work really hard. We did have to flag someone down after waiting close to 10 minutes to ask if we could be seated since no one approached us about being seated; not a big issue as I said it was busy.
Once seated we were given menus and asked about our drinks. The tea came quickly and we placed our order which the waitress confirmed so that the order would be correct. Because of how busy it was the service was friendly but brief.
We decided to have the Shrimp Dumpling, Steamed BBQ Pork Bun, Pork Hash, and the Seafood Fried Noodle. It was all very good. The food came out fresh and hot.
The Shrimp Dumpling while good did need either soy sauce, chili sauce, or the sweet soy mix to make it pop. The pork hash and bbq steam Pork bun were all packed with excellent flavor.
The seafood fried rice was the best I have had. The seafood included in this dish was Shrimp and Scallop. This restaurant was able to make this dish without it being greasey and so flavorful it needed no sauces - it could stand alone.
The best we could tell is that most eating there were local - if the locals eat in a place and there are a lot of locals it is generally good. We were not disappointed.

Not too bad. Some dishes are more authentic than most of the dim sum restaurants nearby.

It's been a while since I have some good dimsum. I used to come to this place with my friends so we gave it a try to see if it's still good. Yes, it was really good n surprisingly all servers now speak good English. (I used to point out the pictures of menu to order) all of dimsum are great n yummy, we found our favorite to order twice too. Services were great n super efficient too. We definitely are going back for some more dimsum. There are so many! Baked one, steamed one and pan fried one!

Very fresh, tasty, made-to-order dim sum, and friendly staff. Small cozy place.

Excellent variety of fresh daily made Dim Sum! Lots of Aunties in the back kitchen are working hard to prepare dishes as ordered. There is a small baked goods section as soon as you walk in.
Get there early to have the most options as Many dishes sold out one by one the closer to 2PM the arrival.
Loved the pork buns that were steamed so nicely!
We sampled quite a variety and brought more food home than we could manage to eat.

Since I've been coming here, it's always been easy to be seated. Guests just keep walking in even without reservation. This is one of my favorite chinese restaurants that have ever existed for a long time. Their food especially the dim sums are very delicious. Each table always gets a pot of hot tea. Their dishes are very white and clean. The service, too, is fast. No long waits which is why dining is fast too and they can always accommodate new guests. Your tab, only they can understand (since it's all written in chinese). The menu on the wall is also in Chinese. But they have other menu. Their deserts are all ready on the side but it all depends on availability. Customers may just walk in and buy these food items. Parking in this chinese cultural center have improved. Entrance and exits are already automated. Pay at a parking machine located on the second floor.

Family friendly spot for dim sum! Absolutely authentic and they have fresh frying dough (油條) which is amazing. Also the price is very reasonable!

Authentic fresh dim sum in a busy, clean but hectic restaurant. Frequented by mostly locals. They have a PICTURE menu to help you with your ordering.

We’ve been going to Tai Pan for 15 years. Delicious high quality dim sum at the most reasonably priced menu. Highly recommended.

This has been one of our favorite stops for dim sum in Chinatown for years. Great section at good prices. Lots of parking. Be sure to swing by when your craving pork hash, shrimp dumplings and more.
