For years, this has continued to be my favorite brewery on Oahu. I haven't had any beers from them that I wouldn't drink. The selection is great, and they always have new stuff. Staff is friendly and inviting. We talked beer for quite a while as they we not too busy when I visited.
Love this place! Small batch beers that rotate regularly so there’s always something new to try. Kind and knowledgeable serves. Fun environment for a chill evening.
Nice variety of beers and each one we had was great, but not much in the way of food (aside from some paninis) and it was quite rowdy, probably because of the proximity to the college. Prefer the location in pearlridge because of the ladder 2 reasons, but the beer is still great here, and there are a ton of food options close by. There wasn't any waitstaff either and we had to go up and serve ourselves.
Good beers at the Beer lab. Had the Jipaiya Hazy IPA which I really liked. Very easy drinking with a little hop kick at the end. Had a higher ABV than I like. This could really sneak up on you.
They make their own Salami. The Salami panini was excellent. They also make their own pickles which were nice and crunchy- great flavor.
Service was excellent. Thank you Jen.
Highly recommended.
Beers were delicious and it was great to find some hazy, cloudy delicious New England style IPA's on this trip so far from home. We played cards and just enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. Great chill spot minutes from tons of different cuisine types.
Tried all of their beers. 2 were excellent; 3 were good, but nothing special; 5 were ok, but not something I'd buy again.
So why 5 stars. Still good beers to be found, atmosphere is welcoming, truly a great place to hang out and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
This place is worth visiting.
Hands down the best brewery I visited on the island. Ten beers on tap with a range of styles executed incredibly well. Sours, IPA (both hazy and not), great stouts, and crisp little lagers. Staff was awesome, and it's no surprise that this was the brewery the other breweries were raving about. Worth the visit by far.
Interesting and creative beers served by interesting and engaged people. They've also got house-made kombucha on tap (which I did not try), and house made salami (which I did - it is excellent). Worth the time and money for sure.
Up until this point, most of the breweries we'd visited on the island were brought in mostly tourists. It was nice to find place that brought in mostly locals. Beer was solid and the atmosphere was super chill. Would say it's probably a college hangout spot since it's near the university.
I recently visited Beer Lab HI and had a fantastic experience! The brewery has a great casual vibe and the location is perfect. While there were some noisy college students around, it didn't detract from the overall experience. The menu didn't have much in the way of substantial food, but that wasn't a problem for me as I was there for the beer. Speaking of which, the beer selection was amazing! They really live up to their name by offering inventive flavors and unusual offerings. It was refreshing to try something new and different. While there were no "safe" picks on the menu, I appreciated the risk-taking and creativity that went into each brew. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they were happy to answer any questions I had about the beer. Overall, I highly recommend Beer Lab HI to anyone looking for a great brew in a laid-back atmosphere. Don't hesitate to try something new and exciting
