Nice restaurant in an iconic hotel in Oahu island. It has great views if you are there during daytime. In the evening you can enjoy the breeze and light music.
Food quality is okay, and so was the service that we received.
We ordered Old Fashioned and Deck Lemonade for drinks, Brussels sprouts and chicken wings for appetizers, Island Spiced Rubbed Chicken, Eggplant Parmesan, and Marguerite Pizza.
A place that can be tried at least once.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant, recommended by a friend. We opted for fried calamari, garlic prawns, and the catch of the day (unfortunately, I can't recall the fish's name). While everything was delicious, the standout was definitely the garlic prawns. Their incredible flavor was enhanced by the curry sauce that accompanied them. The drinks were also excellent. The restaurant boasts a delightful ambiance, complemented by breathtaking views in the background. Live music, performed by a talented individual, added to the experience. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff. I certainly plan on returning whenever I'm in Waikiki. For those who are driving, you can park at the zoo located across the street at a rate of $1.50 per hour.
The Deck was a great experience. My nine friends and I all ate dinner there a few nights ago for one of my friends' birthday dinner. Being so close to Waikiki beach, it was very convenient to find and all we had to do was take a short bus ride to the entrance. Going up the elevator, the doors opened revealing the aesthetic scene we are about to eat in. There were lots of plants and greenery, beautiful Diamond Head and sunset view, and lots of helpful staff. We were seated and ordered, the service being great and attentive. We took our time taking photos and taking in the atmosphere, as we weren’t sure how many times we would be able to come back. I eventually ordered the Deck burger and it was great. The bun was toasted and the ingredients were combined nicely. It was super juicy and overall a great burger. Personally, I don’t love the greens that they put on the burger so I took them off, but other than that it was delicious. In addition, I shared a plate of chips and guacamole with one of my friends, and that was also very good. The only complaint is that there wasn’t nearly enough guacamole for the amount of chips that were on the plate (Also that it was $16). A few of the others in my party also ordered the burger and it shared similar good reviews. One of the members ordered the eggplant dish and it looked very good and he said it was pretty good tasting to match its look. At the end, it was very easy to split the bill three ways and we walked out with our stomachs full. My friends and I shared laughs and celebrated a great birthday with a great dinner. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal with the family or with friends.
This was the perfect happy hour restaurant. The restaurant is located on the third floor of the hotel. The restaurant is almost entirely outside and has a view of Diamond Head.
Happy hour runs from 2pm-4pm. We arrived around 3pm. We were seated in an outdoor area that had something above us providing shade.
We ordered a root beer and the DECK. House Blonde Ale. Both drinks were decent but fairly priced ($5 for root beer with unlimited refills, $7 for beer).
For food, we split the Guacamole (and chips). The guacamole was good but we wished we had a little more to go with our massive pile of chips. We also split the Glazed Chicken Wings. We were hesitant to order them because of the unique flavor (chili black vinegar blaze with macadamia nut butter), but we are so happy we did. The flavor was delicious. The wings had a lot of meat and were cooked well.
I gave the service four stars because our server was very social with another table, resulting in slow service for us and he charged us for a drink we didn't order. He was friendly though. And the food came out quickly.
Had a late dinner on a Saturday night so we missed out on the view. I must say the staff and service were the star of the show! Everyone was so kind and gracious. When the manager took plenty of pictures of our group for us and even set up good lighting. Once he found out we were celebrating a birthday he brought over complimentary shots and made sure to let us know when he was leaving for the night. The food and drinks were great as well!
This was a delicious dinner and I am glad I decided to stay in my hotel instead of going out. I had the Kauai Garlic Prawns and a slice of Tiramisu. The prawns were in a curry sauce that wasn't too spicy, but the flavor was still wonderful. The Tiramisu was overpriced for a moderately tasty cake. Not enough coffee taste. The atmosphere was loud, but the Christmas music helped make the human noise bearable. Would I go here again? YES I would.
It’s located inside the Queen Kapiʻolani Hotel. Took us an extra round driving around trying to look for it. The view was amazing as others have said! We arrived around 1pm and it was very sunny. We sat in the shade instead of the uncovered balcony and it was not hot at all. It was very airy and breezy. We had a good time enjoying the brunch menu there.
$38 Steak and Egg was a good choice. The Chicken Wings were veryyyy good! We also had $10 Side Salmon and it was a good value option too.
This place came with a perfect view and atmosphere but not too overpriced as it seemed. Highly recommended!
Came early in the morning, so there was no wait. Ordered the avocado toast and the French toast. Avocado toast was aesthetically pleasing while the French toast was very good! It was on the sweeter side and had a Hawaiian twist to it. Would definitely get that again. The potatoes on the side were bland and dry. :/
Beautiful view as well to accompany the meal. Good for pictures when restaurant is less crowded
The environment is great here— open air deck, live music, and amazing views of Lēʻahi! Food is fresh, yes little pricy, but understandable since it’s Waikiki. Servers are quick and kind.
Great food, great view of Diamond Head and great service. Visited twice during our stay for dinner and then light lunch/snack. Both visits were the same experience. Really recommend, will not disappoint.
A nice place to go when you are visiting or celebrating special occasions. The deck has bar and dine in seating with a screen so you can watch games on the screen without it feeling like a sports bar. The ambience is romantic with dimmed lighting and a beautiful outdoor area. I do not see a lot of locals in the restaurant, mostly are people visiting. I recommend getting the fixed menu where you can get one cold and one hot appetizers, one entree and one dessert for $60 - perfect for sharing if you have small appetites and are not too hungry. The appetizers were small so we ended up ordering truffle fries. The servers are very nice and attentive, and if you want to park we recommend parking at the Honolulu Zoo parking for $1.50 per hour.
We came here for breakfast and had the Deep Dish Haupia French Toast. Holy hell was it good! One of the best french toast dishes we've ever had! Can't vouch for much more but the french toast was fire and the view was excellent! We'll be back!
I was skeptical about this place since it’s so close to the hotel pool… I thought it might be like a pool bar… but we were really impressed. I got the island chicken and it was delicious. The view of Diamond Head is spectacular. Service was very friendly. Highly recommend a reservation for this place in the evening.
Spent a fair amount of time eating here during a military move. It’s consistently great for various meals throughout the day, though is on the pricier side. Personal favorites include Eggs Benedict, fish tacos, crème brûlée, and R and R cocktail. Would suggest dining in over doing takeout. The view of Diamond Head is nice and worth enjoying, and the food is better plated than boxed as take out.
If this was local to me in my home state, I'd come here to hang out for lunch/brunch/dinner etc every other night.
5 stars on everything.
Visiting here from NJ, so this gem so happened to be located within our hotel.
Going to miss it.
First, service. Joella the bartender made us want to sit at the bar every time.
She was fantastic. Friendly, sharp, and genuine.
You don't get that many bartenders that can carry a conversation while serving other guests at the bar. But she made sure she catered her kindness and attention to everyone.
The food was amazing. I attached the items I got so far and I'm not even done with my trip yet!
If I was visiting for a longer time, I'd come here more and add more photos.
Highly recommend the short rib and avocado toast.
The scenery is beautiful. You have the pool and the volcano in the background as your drop to experience here.
If you need a spot to eat this is it!
Thanks joella!
I went with my partner and had a lovely experience. The server was very prompt, funny and kind. We ordered an appetizer, 2 entrees, cocktails and shots. We had dined at a couple restaurants during our stay and the food was the best that we'd experienced by far. Far better than Chart House that we'd dined at the day prior and less expensive. I had the salmon that was perfectly cooked with a side of mashed potatoes. My partner had a burger (not pictured) that tasted better than the steak we'd had the night before. We will definitely be coming back in the future and highly recommend this establishment.
