Review Chubbies Burgers - Honolulu

Go SAITO
This burger shop is a bit far from Waikiki, but I think it is worth the trip. I visited there in the morning on the day I was leaving, so the restaurant was empty, but I guess it is usually more crowded. The young staff all had nice smiles and a high level of hospitality. The burgers tasted like traditional American fare. The quantity is moderate and recommended for Japanese.

Wow. I don't usually rave about a burger place but man, my wife and I both loved it. The burgers were absolutely delicious! We had the veggie burgers and fries. I'm not quite sure what they do different with the buns but they were fantastic. The sauce was the great. The bean sprouts on top was a nice touch that I haven't seen before and the veggie burger was amazing! It's not impossible burger or beyond meat so it doesn't taste like meat but that's just fine. I prefer this veggie patty over those any day! Oh and the fries were so good we had to get another order to go. The 50s vibe of the place was also very cool. I'm from Cali and love In-n-out but this is better! Yes, this is also twice as expensive, but still. I hope this place expands.

I’ll be 💯, it’s not as good as I saw on yelp and Google. I thought the burger was going to be a lot thicker but i guess it’s supposed to be a smash burger? The bun kinda killed it for me but that’s my opinion. The fries were definitely worth it, I also got the homemade root beer which wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t come back but definitely try it out.

A true hole in the wall, but definitely somewhere I see expanding! First, the food. I got the classic 50s burger, which was a seasoned just right smash burger patty, with melted American cheese, lettuce, a juicy tomato slice, and crisp onion with a mayo based sauce, served on a baked in house potato bun toasted to perfection. It all comes together to make a tasty burger. I'd have liked it more if it was served with another burger patty, as the bun (while fantastic) overwhelmed the burger. The crinkle cut fries were salted just right, and they don't skimp on the portion, you get quite a lot of fries. For dessert, I ordered a piece of guava cobbler, which was gooey yet fluffy, and had a great balance of tart and sweet. The person who took my order was polite and helpful, and gave a forewarning on the wait time. Otherwise, it's a quick service place, so don't expect to be waited on. The restaurant was brightly lit, with windows on two sides, and cute booths and tables. It felt like a 50s diner, which I'm assuming was the intention. I'd definitely recommend checking the place out if you're in the area, and if not, too bad. Make the drive anyway. You'll be happy you did!

BASIC NEVER!!! These are some seriously delicious grindz!! Soft pillow-ey buns. Tasty seasoned patties. Crispy fries. And don't overlook that lilikoi lemonade! Clean open dining and add that great customer service.... most definitely will be back.

Great tasting smash burgers with fresh buns, good condiments, nice sauce. The Chub fries "everything on them" are great if you like multi-flavored fries. The customer service there was delightful. It was my first time there, so rather than leaving me out to dry, trying to guess what I wanted, the menu was nicely explained to me. I left with what was a delicious meal.

I had heard that this place was the goat but I actually had to go see it for myself. G.o.a.t. absolutely amazing. The burger was delicious and tasted like it was fresh ingredients and lovely flavors. The fries were very unique. Never had anything like it on the mainland but definitely delicious and full of onions if you're into it. Not to mention that it's not on the menu but you can get a float. Their house made soda tasted better than Coca-Cola and Pepsi

7.3 out of 10. Good customer service. Good burger with toasted soft bun. The fries however are Excellent if you like the IN n Out Animal style, they killed that! House made cola was Strong but a good strong! Pineapple milkshake was delicious! The onion rings used red onions which I had never had, but was still pretty good. I personally feel that it is a little overpriced for what you get, so I wouldn’t go back unless a friend offered to pay.

El Rey burger was good. Solid beef flavor and seasoning. 4/5 Chicken sandwich had good crunch in the battery, but strangely lacked in flavor. I was pretty disappointed with this because the chicken was really cooked well (juicy). 2.5/5 Bacon fries were pretty tasty. The aioli was really tasty and the bacon was nice. Standard crinkle cut fries. 4/5
