Everything here is amazing. The simple poke was incredible. The tofu sampler was astonishing. The Mochi agedashi was exquisite. Even the Shirley temple my daughter ordered was original and amazing.

1st time ever. Always drove by but friend tried before, liked it and wanted me to try. Very good selection of appetizers and entrees. Quality and presentations were excellent. Definitely recommend others to stop by and give this place a try. Definitely order the Fried Squid with a garlic dipping bread and the Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice.

Loved the food. Exceptional tofu which I believe they make themselves. All the dishes we ordered were great. Just a little different than most Japanese American restaurants. The service was patient, helpful and attentive. The small plate prices add up quickly but I thought they were worth the money spent.

The interior is much nicer than you would think and the food is amazing.
The tofu sampler was easily one of my favorites with 3 different flavors of homemade tofu. With a sprinkle of salt and pepper all 3 were delicious.
The chirashi don was full of high quality fish and superb rice. I could enjoy a bowl of the rice alone!
I can’t wait to go back to try all they have to offer.

Great Izakaya in Hawaii. This was the first and not the last time I will visit Gazen Bar and Grill Izakaya. The food was great the service was great and the atmosphere was very comfortable. Each and every dish we enjoyed which there were at least dozen different dishes from the menu was a great tasting dish. No disappointment. I do suggest a reservation as it gets busy fast on a Saturdau night. Parking is tight as well. But the ood is well worth it.

This resturaunt has the best Japanese food on the island from an all around menu stand point. However the manager Tak left as of April 1st and let's just say the service is so bad that I set up this account and am writing this review at the table. Pre -Tak this place sucked and now a week after he quit it looks like it is back to its old ways. It was great why it lasted, and its a huge disappointment to see it fall apart. By the way haven't had a server stop by my table in over 30 minutes now!
