Review Gina's Barbeque - Honolulu

Justine LaLa Story
Very popular local Korean bbq takeout place at the same shopping complex as cafe kaila’s. Best to call in for order if you plan to get their food during peak time. Food is really good in general but the fried mandoo and spring rolls are not very exciting to eat. It’s really hard and tasteless. Generous servings of everything. Regular size plate can easily feed two people

We used Gina's fantastic food for our graduation event last night. Yes it was amazing. We picked up the food and delivered ourselves. Everyone love everything and the price was reasonable. Will do again. Thank you Gina's we really need you. Keep up the great cooking!

My dad absolutely loved the kimchi. Brought the whole family (back in 2019), everything was delicious. They know korean food! Not upscale by any means, but so friendly!

32 years ago, I discovered Gina's take out (when I lived a few blocks away). The prices have gone up but the food is still fantastic with huge portions! Every time I'm back in Hawaii, I always visit Gina's! I recommend the Spicy Pork👍

Gina's Barbeque is hands down on of the best local korean spots on Oahu. The BBQ chicken and the meat jun is awesome. The sides are all amazing and tasty. The portions are very very generous and the price is really reasonable. The seating is limited along with the hard to find parking spot but if you can find parking you should definitely drop in here for some food. They also do catering if you are trying to have some korean food for a party.

I've been coming here since college days. A friend knew the son of the owner and we always got huge portions and extra free sides. They, the mother and daughter, still remember me. I'm not sure if that's his mother, but I thank my friends friend every time I go.

Delicious little spot for Korean BBQ! On our week vacation, we went there twice just because food is so good. The first picture is of Gina's special and 2nd is BBQ chicken. Each of these dishes comes with 3 scoops of rice and 4 sides (I only picked 2 for mine). Prices are amazing for the amount of food you get! They also can do food for big events!!

Great food. I've been coming here for years. Just once in a while the choi sum, instead of being lightly salted like popcorn, it is sea water salty (inedible).

I tried their vegetable plate. You get to choose 4 vegetables of your choice with rice or 5 vegetables if your choice without rice. I love the great volume they offer, and if you go with vegetarian plate, it only takes literally a minute to have your plate ready to go, which I love.

A popular spot to get your fix for local style Korean barbeque which has been in a staple at Market City Shopping Center for more than 20 years. Prices are reasonable too!

Wasn't sure at first. I wouldn't say the inside was sketchy but pretty small, but those are usually the best places. This food is amazing! I have a couple days left here and I'm upset I didn't know about it earlier!

WOW, in my opinion the best Korean food in all Hawaii. And also an incredible value. Very simple setting, a couple of tables but mostly takeout customers. I ordered "Gina's special", coming with 4 sides, bbq short ribs and bbq chicken for only $14. Was plenty for 2 people. Very friendly staff and service. They seem to have a strong local crowd and many regulars.

Been coming here since college. Best deal in town. Gina special. Can't go wrong. Always fills me up. Love the sides and if you tell them no rice you can pick 5 items.

Delicious! Plenty of servings and fresh and tasty! Meat juhn and hamburger steak!

If you're hungry and want incredible tasting food with massive portions, this is the place for you. We have Korean friends; Gina's noodles and beef tasted like our friend's grandmother's recipe. A-maz-ing. If in doubt, get Gina's Special and choose a few sides. The fish was also super fresh and tasty.

Ordered online. A line to get into the restaurant due to capacity restrictions. But the line moved along quickly. Order was accurate and delicious.
good times
Very good food. Reasonable price and ample amount. Other restaurants in the same area. walk in and order.

My husband and I loves Korean Food and I didn't expect that there are many Korean Restaurants here in Hawaii. Gina's BBQ is one of our favorites. It's a very small place with some tables and chairs (and many boxes too for pick-up orders) but we usually dine in there.

It took 12-15 minutes order wait time because it was lunch time when we got there. Many people were also waiting for their orders including the pick-up orders, uber eats guys and bite squad guys.

We always order their Spicy Pork Plate Lunch. For $12.50 you'll get Spicy pork with 2 spring rolls, Meat jun and 4 sides good for two people.

it's really one of the best Korean Spicy Pork I've had..ever. It's has the perfect blend of spicy and sweet and the pork is very tender. The Meat Jun was just ok.. nothing special with the other Meat Jun dish I had. The spring rolls was just fine, the egg roll sheets was too thick for me. For the sides, Im addicted to their Daikon and Seaweed veggies. Fresh, sweet and sour perfect to eat with Spicy Pork.

Overall, Spicy Pork Plate is the star of their menu. It's really good and we loved it so much. Next time, we'll try the pick-up order and eat it at home instead because the place gets too crowded.

Phenomenal. Found this place on urbanspoon and we had a great experience there. It's a tiny shop with only a few tables (which were full with their regular customers) so we got takeout. Gina herself offered us many samples and the regular customers gave great menu suggestions. The combo portions are huge (2 plates fed 5 people plus leftovers) and at $10 a pop, you won't find a better value. It's a short 5 minute drive from Waikiki and much better than most of the restaurants next to the hotels.

Fliday Nite Live. Velly long day with too muchee traffic every Fliday, no miss, so stop by Gina's all the time, many people with hung down hungry faces but when order ready, happy smile and standing close to customer hear funny noise from stomach area, maybe conversation with ono food saying hully up go bumbai. Picku numbah 1 combi with plenty ono kine stuff. Nevah mine almost good glammer. Come from camp #3, Puunene, much long time yesterday. Aroha!

Good stuff!

Very dissatisfied.. Quantity not quality. Meat jun very oily. 12 piece chicken side order was just scraps of small pieces and fried batter.

Gina's Special. FULFILLING for less than $10!!! 3 scoops rice, 4 choice of veggies, 2 pcs kalbi, 2 pcs chicken, and several other things for 8.95... man that enought to feed two ppl! Their service is excellent. After you eat that, you might wanna go to Fun Factory to burn off that food!

A good mean. This place was good. lots of locals, with several people being called by name upon entering the store, indicating serious loyalty....a good sign. I got the spicy chicken. Sauce was great, but chicken was just OK, sorta tough. Kinche was good, seeweed and other sides were also nicely flavored without being overdone. all for under $10! Nice end to a nice day of kayaking.

Great food, great prices. The plate lunch comes with three scoops of rice and a choice of FOUR vegetables. The entrees are good and the prices are reasonable. Two people can share a plate lunch or you can have the left overs the next day. The vegetable selection is excellent: kim che, cabbage, long rice, potato, radish, sprouts, watercress and seaweed. This is a great chance to try Korean barbeque at a great price. My favorite is the Mondoo and Bulgogi. Chicken Katsu (fired breaded chicken breast) is also very popular.
