Join the club or waste $00's!! The discounts for Safeway Club Members are excellent. We either walk there and catch a cab home for our 2 week shop or you can also catch the bus but it wouldn't be good with ice cream. A huge range of foods of course and if you buy 6 bottles of wine there is a discount too. Manager's specials in the meat department are worth looking for and the sweet corn quality and pricing when its on special is great. Staff are friendly and the service desk will ring a cab for you.
A good supermarket just a short bus ride from Waikiki.
Note, I'm a tourist not a local. Bought some candy & other items from here, that would no doubt have been a lot more expensive at the ABC stores.

A great alternative grocery store to Waikiki Market for those on the Diamond Head side of Waikiki. I like the savings you can get on their app. Safe, walkable area with good sidewalks and biki stations. I LOVE the flower selections here and they have lots of flower bouquet gift items like vases and stuffed animals.
Nice, clean and very organized grocery store. As a turists we find everything we needed.
Place has practically everything you need. It's clean, with friendly staff, fresh poke, etc. Side note is that there isn't a large selection of "organic" or healthier alternative produce, if that something you are looking for. The 4 star on my end is for the price (more expensive than Whole Foods as a reference). This is a popular location that attracts a lot of tourists, so the prices are typically higher than other grocery stores in the area. If you don't mind that, than happy shopping! Plus, if you can't find parking on ground level there is a ramp on the right side of the store for roof parking. To access roof parking from the store you can take the stairs or elevators. Usually you will find a parking spot up there.
We are spending a week of vacation in Waikiki, looking for where to buy poke, lau lau, salmon fruits, guava drinks and local dishes. I found this Safeway in our neighborhood. I made a good purchase, everything very fresh and well presented, I even added some colorful Hawaiian wooden spoons, a precious souvenir for my kitchen. I highly recommend it.

Safeway is very well maintained and will save you a lot of money IF you go to the service desk and ask for a club member card, it's free!
There is a food court and a Starbucks inside.
You can take the elevator to the parking lot on top of the store to take some pretty nice pictures of Honolulu!
Also just about a hundred yards away is the famous Leonard's Bakery, a MUST visit!
The only shock that we saw was a gallon of milk $5.49 to $8.99!
And seedless watermelon $1.49 A POUND! We placed a mellon on the scales, it was a little over 24 pounds. That comes out to $36.00!
DOLE should plow their pineapples under and start growing Watermelons!
The store is clean and smells nice, the selection of products is really good, just the prices are a bit higher than other supermarkets in the area
