Agu Ramen is my favorite ramen for the money. The broths are the tastiest with the perfect amount of flavor and yet not too salty. They also have chicken broth options. Also, the noodles are the way they’re supposed to be. Not soggy, but just the right amount of chew. The service is always attentive and friendly as well. If you like spice, these folks know how to do it. When they say it’s spicy, it is. Not even some of the “famous” Japanese shop names in Honolulu can compete with this ramen.
Been hearing a lot about this place. Finally got to try it. As I walked in, I was greeted immediately by the staff. I sat at the counter since I was alone. I asked for a recommendation from the staff and they recommended the Kotteri which I assume is their signature. I got their original Kotteri ramen. The bowl came out quickly and it looked great. However the egg is slightly more cooked than I would have liked, but that's personal preference. The soup was excellent with a nice porky taste. The noodles were nice and firm. The highlight for me was the char siu. I would definitely recommend this place. This does come at around $15, so it's not exactly cheap. Good ramen is expensive in Hawaii.
Good ramen place and very popular with locals. I got the spicy tonkotsu ramen with spicy level 2, which made the broth a bit more tasty. I like their thin noodles and their ajitama. The staff was very friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. However, their prices seemed to have gone since they first started and I am not sure if I would pay 16 to 20 dollars for a ramen, especially since the other ramen shops I frequent have lower prices. It's still a nice restaurant and I am glad they were open on 4th of July!!
Ramen is great. That's a 5 star. Try the rest of the menu at your own risk. We had the Miyazaki chicken..greasy.
Came here for a customer lunch and the Ramen was incredibly delicious! Flavorful broth and the ingredients were tasty.
Also had the brussel sprouts and Gyoza. The brussel sprouts were tasty with a nice crunch along with the deep fried crust. The Gyoza were good but nothing spectacular about them.
I will come back here on my own when I can get the chance.
If you need to satisfy your ramen craving, this is where you need to visit. They have all kind of different broths but my favorite is the jidori shio because it's light. The kotteri ramen with cheese is my 2nd favorite. The prices are a bit high; the bowls go from $13-$20 but you definitely get your monies worth because it taste good. If you like spicy ramen, give theirs a try, you can choose up to level 5.
This is also the very first AGU ramen location. It's located across the Old Stadium Park and behind First Hawaiian Bank. The inside is small and it can get busy on those chilly and rainy nights. They have lots of parking in the back of the building if you don't get a space in front or on the street. This place is walk in only and I don't recommend it for big groups.
AGU is a casual ramen place is known for amazing and creative ramen dishes. The ramen made here is amazing, some of the best I have had. I particularly like the way the menu is arranged with vegan and vegetarian options -- it also doesn't hurt that AGU has weapons-grade vegan ramen options.
The service isn't fast, but you're probably coming for high-quality ramen dishes instead of a fast meal anyway. Parking is on the street. There is a large table in the center for large groups or communal dining with smaller, more intimate tables around the outside. The atmosphere is very casual.
The ramen here is some of the best I've had. If you've never been here I recommend trying the Original Kotteri with added parmesan cheese. You won't be disappointed.
Delicious!!! Good food, great staff cant go wrong. If your thinking about going don't think just go for it.
One of the best tasting ramen place in US! Bowl of ramen for $16....yes, absurdly expensive, but worth it. Really.
