Review Wolfgang's Steakhouse By Wolfgang Zwiener - Honolulu

Wolfgang's was everything a higher-end steakhouse should be. Service was prompt, food was exact, and drinks were strong. If you're looking for a good place to celebrate, book a dinner reservation and arrive with a healthy appetite and a full wallet.

We went during the happy hours. Loco moco was okay, steak was pretty good as well. To me, the steak was much better than Signature Prime (less better than Hy's though). I would say it was great place to go with family for dinner, especially if you can make happy hours.

Tonight was the first time I ate at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Great service. The food was amazing. We got the steak for 3 for a party of 6 and we still had food leftover. Of course we had other food that we ordered as well. I personally loved the Lobster Bisque. It was very creamy and full of flavor. Their creamed spinach was also very good. The steak was also cooked to perfection. If you're in Waikiki and looking for a Steakhouse I would not hesitate to visit Wolfgang's.

sometimes its good to splurge. Yes, definitely not the best value meal, but great for treating guests and making your loved ones feel special. tried the thanksgiving special, nothing spectacular but its a solid option vs buffets and making a mess at home. mahalo. park at the royal hawaiian center, they validate but still gotta pay 2bucks extra at exit

Worst crab cake in my life. It was cold inside😖 Also we were waiting for the food very long. Although service was very nice and our servers ask us to wait a little bit longer every 5 min)) Lamb chops were good, mashed potato, mushrooms and asparagus were excellent. I will not come back because for this couple of days I had better experience in other steakhouses, but if you have no other choice(it was hard for us to find spot in other places for the weekend )-it’s ok.

The best steak in Waikiki! Service was impeccable - a huge thank you to Mike who guided us through the menu honestly. Steak was cooked to perfection and exceptionally flavourful. Don’t underestimate the size of the sides - our favourites were mashed potato, broccoli and asparagus.

I have been eating here for the past 10 years. Taste of NY is the best. You get NY steak on a sizzling platter, mashed potato, creamed spinach, and Cheesecake for $85. Only for lunch and during happy hour. Lumped crab meat for $40 is amazing. Remember to validate your parking on your way out. first hour free with validation and second and third hour for discounted $2/per hour. The owner and his wife are very nice and friendly. Lovely couple! Service is hit or miss, avoid Jeremy W as waiter. Ask wine pour at the table, twice they brought bad wine in the glass.

Enjoyed the first time Wolfgang’s steakhouse in Hawaii. Not only the taste but the service was gorgeous. I’d love to visit next time too.

Omg we went here for our anniversary The service was wonderful every time I put my fork down they were there to remove it and clean the table. The food was fresh and delicious. Steak melted in your mouth and the sauce along side was something I had never had before. I felt like we received a 5 star treatment and I definitely recommend if you have an opportunity to go here make it a point to experience the 5 star treatment

Great service for brunch. Tried the French toast and crab cake benedict both were very good. Jackie and Perry were both great and accommodating. We will definitely return next trip.

Had lunch... fish and chips and fish sandwich.. very tasty and fresh fish in the sandwich. Crispy fish... fries and coleslaw good. Generous and delicious mango sorbet serving. Following day had dinner... crab cake yummy with their tartar sauce...ceasar salad good.... lobster Mac and cheese yummy and cheesy. Ordered medium Rib eye steak good but had to return the dish because it was well done then the second iteration, parts of the steak were medium rare. I'm sure they'll get it right when i go back🙂

Highly recommended. Excellent food, great service (especially ‚Bella‘), and the best part is that ‘Wolfgang’ is often on site, keeping an eye on everything. He enjoys interacting with the guests.

A high end steak house located within the heart of Waikiki. Reserving for a seat is recommended for dinner, especially during holidays. The restaurant has several appetizers to satiate once’s hunger for the main steak, such as their Caesar salad and crab cake, both tasting great. Their signature aged T-bone steak are well known for its tender and juicy elements, which are delivered as it promises, a phenomenal steak. Several side dishes are available for order along with the steak, here we ordered sautĂ©ed onions, mushrooms, and spinach, all tasted wonderful and a great match with their steak. Rice is also available for those who prefers eating the steak with it. Although it is one of the most high end steak restaurants in Waikiki, I would highly recommend to try their steak once if you get the opportunity of being able to pay for them, it is a great experience to dine here for an amazing steak.

I had a great time today. Everything was delicious and the server was so beyond nice to us. He recommended a medium rare steak for us and it tasted amazing! The servers and waiters were so kind and made this dinner a great experience. I would Definitely come back here again. AMAZING! good quality and it makes the price worth it.

This was a very pleasant dining experience for a Sunday lunch on a warm Hawaii day. I wasn't very hungry but the chopped salad with chicken was quite a large serve. I surprised myself and ate it all as it was so lovely. Lots of avo, corn, peas, strawberries, teeny tiny slivers of lettuce (no trying to shove big leaves in your mouth here) and it was very delicately flavoured, although the chicken was quite peppery. Hubby had the omelette which was beautifully cooked and came with a side of potatoes, which he couldn't eat. The waitress brought a basket of bread to our table, I did my best (it was lovely and crusty, and warm when it first arrived) but couldn't finish it all, especially as the omelette arrived with a muffin that the Coeliac One couldn't eat.
When first seated, tall glasses of iced water were brought out, which were lovely and refreshing with our lunch.
Beautiful white cloths as well, it was a very enjoyable environment.

Poor quality . On January 7th of this year I made dinner reservations for my husband's birthday. Looking forward to a great meal together in beautiful Hawaii but instead Had one of the worst dinners in a very long time. Too much money and far too little flavor. Average food at best. Nothing memorable. Steak and service ok But that was it. Salads, deserts, vegetable and potato of average to poor. The dining Area was also cold and we were told they had a lock on the thermostat. What a Forgettable meal, big disappointment.

Should have gone to Wolfgang Pucks for excellent food instead!

Arrogance ruined the experience!. The food at Wolfgang's was acceptable but the dining experience was far from pleasant or enjoyable. PROS: the steak and mashed potatoes were good. Nothing exceptional, but not bad at all. CONS: Poor attention to detail (broken cracked water glass, chipped plates, missing cutlery, the "don't touch" hot plates were cold by the time the meal was served). Arrogant server tried to rush us out, wanting to clear the table and take our plates before we were finished eating. When he brought the check, "that's your total, you can pay me now!". Server dropped the dessert Sundae and watched it roll across the table before one of us caught it. It is disappointing that a server can ruin a dining experience with arrogance. Definitely will not be returning...

Disappointing lunch. We, a party of 7, came here hoping for a nice restaurant experience and we were disappointed.

We booked a table in advance and when we checked in with the front desk she told us it's not ready, which is fine, but when we went to take seats waiting she asked us to wait outside, for no apparent reason. We had an elderly person in the group and it was warm outside, and there was no proper seating. It would have been nice of her to recognize that. After 10 minutes I went in to check on the table and she seemed to have forgotten about us, simply saying 'oh yeah, it's ready'. Well were you going to come tell us?

There were 4 food menus and 2 drinks menus, some overlapping items on there, and no real explanation which we were supposed to order from.

They brought out strange corn bread muffins with blueberries in them, as the pre meal bread. They were out of Prosecco so the drinkers among us had a Brut.

The confusion so far had me worried, due to previous experiences, so 3 of us went safe with the steak burger. Our different orders were too confusing for the waiter so when he brought out the food 5 minutes later (amazingly fast, which was good) several things had been mixed up - and in fairness were taken back and corrected quickly. Standard ketchup in a side dish, decent fries but very few, burgers incinerated instead of medium. The lettuce on mine was a bit dodgy, not sure. It's not like we challenged them with the orders but if you're going to be an expensive restaurant, $17 for a burger, you can do a better than that, out of pride at least.

Location isn't everything.. We saw great advertisements for the steakhouse. But when we went it was super crowded and the service was terrible. It was a long time before a waiter noticed us, and I had to ask for a napkin and silverware.

I ordered a filet minion well done, and when it came it was rubbery. I have eaten in the best restaurants in the country and have never had a filet this rank. So when the waiter (one of three who waited on us because they were short handed) asked how it was I said fair. That was fine, because he'd asked me.

Yet, I intended to make due and eat around the chewy parts, because I never complain, then the owner (or manager) came up, miffed, and said he'd heard I wasn't happy with the filet. His comment was, "Well, that's what you get for ordering it well done." To which I defended, " it wasn't even well done it was medium well done." Besides, I had always ordered my filet well done and had never had it rubbery before. So, he snapped up my dish and that was that. I had no more supper.

In his defense he took the filet off the tab, he must have seen the rubbery parts I had deposited on plate because I couldn't chew them. But I was insulted all the same. So I went on their site to write my experience and the site no longer takes comments. Which leads me to believe the place has gone way down on the ranking as of late, and knows it.

It ain't TriBeCa. Service OK, location great, steak not anything close to Wolfgang's TriBeCa. Glad we ate there, but wasn't worth the price.

Best happy hour i've ever had. Service was excellent. Ordered the $34 Sirloin Steak (as rare as possible) with cheesecake. DEFINITELY worth it! went on vacation for a week.. and had their happy hour twice! love it!

Biggest steak ever. Great juicy tender steak, we ordered the steak for two which probably could have served three but that's the USA for you. Golden sautéed mushrooms and the longest hand cut fries I've ever seen we're also very tasty. Service was excellent, staff are eager to please.

Impeccable service, food was excellent.
Would reccomend this restaurant to anyone wishing to be treated like royalty.

Sit at the bar and order the special. If you want to drop a boatload of money, this is the place to do it. However, by sitting at the bar, looking over the specials and not going hog wild, you can get a very tasty meal, prepared extremely quickly (the ovens are set at 1700 degrees). Steaks cooked to perfection. Lobster bisque that will definitely add a few pounds to the body. Service is very good and this is truly fine dining.

Good. We went here on our first night of our honeymoon and the waiter was great, he gave us a free cheesecake desert which was to die for!
our mains were quite filling.

WARNING! Don't waste your money. Dropped top dollar but received dissapointing food quality, atmosphere ambiance nevertheless terrible dining service. Just another touristy restuarant that dined once and to find out a total regret! Don' be a victim!

Wolfgang Steakhouse-Waikiki. Conclusion: You'll be sorely disappointed. Wolfgang's portrays itself as a 5-star restaurant and has 5-star prices. Dinner plus wine for 2 was $200 w/o tip. I don't mind paying big prices for quality but you'll leave feeling like a gouged tourist from this place. The steaks were decent enough at $50 a pop. The asparagus we ordered was so tough and fibrous that you wonder if the chef is mentally disabled, or, they are using cull produce that would be thrown out in the cheapest of eateries. The tomatoe with mozarella was a Safeway-bought rubber ball with no taste nor seasoning. The waiter asked how we liked it and told him the same and he said, "I know what you mean." I just didn't want the waiter to think that we were stupid paying $14+ for each of these dishes. The "house" pinot noir tasted like a cheap cabernet. The tables are so close together you can easily join in 4-5 different conversations around you, depending on where you sit o course. They have you facing forward to create an "illusion" of intimacy. Don't believe any of this? Ask someone else that's been there. They're definitely not looking for repeat local business - one-time tourist suckers are their niche. Sad thing is it was crowded with Japanese tourists when we were there (Japanese-owned and tie in with the travel companies & hotels).

I'd say this is above average. Steaks were cooked to the order (medium-rare for me). Our waiter was very pleasant and I believe deserves a large pat on the back for pulling the restaurant above the average line. If you are in mood for a good steak and great service - albeit at pretty high cost - then try this out.

This was among the worst restaurants ever in terms of both food and service. I ordered Ahi done medium. After close to an hour, they delivered salmon. They realized their mistake, and brought barely touched heat Ahi. They apologized again and then brought well done completely unseasoned Ahi. We made the manager taste it, and he was horribly embarassed at how bad it was. I can't believe these prices for the poor service and even worse food. By far the worst Waikiki has to offer. If you want a much better experience and great food, try Hy's.

40 min. No drinks. Nuff said

Great food at a great price. I love this place for Happy Hour and dinner. I was so impressed with this place I took our top producers from Hilton to reward them with a top notch dinner. Huge lobsters and Meat I recommend anyone who are in Waikiki to at least try this place one time. 5 star quality with a good price.

We ate here for lunch with a party of 4. My co-worker ordered the Cajun ribeye steak done medium which she received almost well done. The steak was average and the baked potato was overdone. No butter was provided with the potato so I had to use the butter left over from the bread. Overall this restaurant was just average, I expected a little more for the price.

Wolfgang's, by far was our best meal in Hawaii. From the service and attentiveness of the staff to the mouth watering steaks (we both had the filet) and huge shrimp appetizer. We would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great steak in waikiki.

The beef served comes from Texas and is dry aged in a special facility on the island.
