So we are in Hawaii for a big family trip. This place was highly recommended. The food was very good. The clam chowder quite possibly the creamiest with large clam chunks ive ever had. All of the fish was fresh. Waiter did his best to accommodate our party of 15, and only a few things kept it from being 5 star.

We went here for dinner on New Year's Eve! Good thing we made a reservation because it got quite busy around 7 or so. There's also free parking on site.
The food was good - nothing exceptional, but still a nice meal. The dishes probably average around $25 - 30. The service was quite fast!

Tasty food, lovely setting, excellent service, live acoustic music, generous portions, diverse menu, good iced tea! Neat find on the water, one of the intriguing dining choices at Pier 38. We were asked if we had reservations, we didn't, and were seated within about 10 minutes. Appeared to be many seats available, so maybe they get hopping a bit later. Reservations are easy enough to make, so consider doing so. Also, spacious main dining room and a quieter room off to the side for more private meals. We enjoyed the back room seating and had very attentive service. Beautiful setting for a walk by the water after dinner. Overall, we found Uncle's to be quite a pleasing experience, and think you will, too.

I celebrated my Father’s Day here with my family and I enjoyed the service from the wait staff. I think my experience with the food would have been better if only I didn’t check the reviews first. Because I checked first, my expectations was set high. But with how busy they were with everyone celebrating Father’s Day I cant blame them. I will suggest tho, to try the haupia flavored gelato dessert! That made my day! Also if parking leaves you lost try to reference my photos. When you drive into the area from Nimitz stay to the right. Near the shipping dock side. There is designated parking. Also good to know to check your bill first. I don’t know if it was because we had a group of 8, but they automatically add tip(gratuity). Might be different for smaller parties.

Awesome fresh fish restaurant! We had the blackened sashimi salad, New England Seafood chowder Moroccan chicken with cous cous, and calamari steak tonight. Everything was superb. This restaurant is always excellent.

Ok I have to say this place is actually a 4.5 stars. The only negative was and is the parking. My phone said this place was a little busy and if I had eaten in a group who knows how long I was going to wait. Yes you will wait so be mindful. Lucky for me a bar seat was open. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food came out crazy quicker then I expected. Now at first glance the dish I ordered didn't have that wow look (I would have preferred a tiny bit of a sear to give it that light crunch and extra color) but after the first bite it is the best piece of fish I have had in Oahu (sauce is amazing). Much props to the kitchen and everyone should try it. You will not be disappointed (Fresh Ahi Belly). The dessert (bread pudding) didnt disappoint either. Try this place I can almost say if you like seafood at least a little bit you will find something you can enjoy here.

Don't let the low class overhang and signage fool you this place is not a dive. The inside seating is nice and spacious (for a more reserved seating ask to be seated on the left side). The staff was wonderful and attentive. I ordered the seafood pasta with alfredo sauce and it was delicious though the garlic bread was a bit too soft and parts were hard almost as if it was microwaved. The Japanese cheesecake was good. The place is great to bring your loved one or spend quality time with a close friend. It is a family friendly environment but I think the cost may not really be worth bringing the children unless they have a separate menu. I will be dining here again.

Uncle's is the pinnacle of the "Fresh Seafood" experience. Situated about three hundred some odd of meters from the Honolulu Fish Auction - where a majority of the fish you see on the menu are purchased - it's the perfect locale for anyone who loves fish, fishing or just a dining getaway that has a local flavor. I always find my myself returning to Uncle's when I'm in Hawaii and have never left the restaurant disappointed. I give it my highest recommendation to anyone. As they say, eat fish, live longer!

Came here for lunch today and got the onaga which is pan fried in a lobster butter. It was delicious. The reason why anyone goes to Uncle's is for the fish. They pride themselves on having great fish, as they are right near the fish market, and the fish itself did not disappoint. There were enough lobster chunks and bits that you got some in every bite, which is key. I hate when the garnish is something that really adds to the dish but there's only enough for a bite or two.
The portion size is medium-small. Not so small that I left hungry, but I definitely wasn't full. Maybe dessert is in order next time.
The service was fast and friendly, even though we came during peak lunch hour. They got us out of there within an hour (no apps or desserts), which is exactly what you want for a weekday lunch when you have to get back for work. Overall great experience.

Really yummy food, our first time there. A bit pricey but all fresh. I really like the garlic ahi, hubby got that. And I got the shrimp scampi. The shrimp was huge! So ono!

Came here for dinner and definitely got what we were looking for!! The place itself and decorations is pretty awesome especially if your a fishermen!! Very nicely decorated, we got the catch up the day (I forgot the fish name) that was delicious!! And also got the poke trio, thought it was a smaller place when ordering and boy was I wrong (picture does seem like a lot but it really is! 3 VERY good portions of the most amazing poke I have ever had! I have eaten a lot of diffident poke and this place is by far the freshest/best tasting I’ve had!!

While neighboring Nico's seems to get all the press, there's a lot to love about Uncle's. They have a wider selection of fish, and while I love the fresh local mahi, as a former resident, I yearn for the local fish that's harder to get on the mainland. I think every fish loving visitor needs to have onaga and opakapaka while they're visiting, and the Uncle typically have both. If you've already been to Nico's before, I would give this place a try. And pick a fish that they're not serving across the way.

Great service, great selection of menu items. I had the Shrimp Scampi and my husband had the Big Uncles Combo and the oysters. FRESH, FRESH! Lunch was wonderful!

We took our very knowledgeable waiter Matthias' recommendations and enjoyed their specialty Ono in Sherry sauce, and opted for brown rice and choy sum (Chinese spinach). We topped it off with fine Kona coffee and their signature bread pudding.
Their menu is well varied, with several daily fresh fish choices as well as chicken, steak, poke, and sandwiches. I highly recommend this restaurant for family as well as intimate dining.
