What a nice surprise this was. This place has both indoor and outdoor seating, though the outdoor seat3may not be obvious. That's part of the charm however if you do end up eating outside. It's a nice, open space enclosured by foliage.
Food was good, and the service was on point. Check the menu and you should be pleased by the restaurant's interpretation of the dish. They do seem to have a time limit on the table, but it wasn't an issue for me.
This time we ate during a rain storm outside. That was interesting. So outdoor seating is probably available even in questionable times. They are also strict about food substitutions for some reason.
Swiss Lakewood is like Cheers, where everybody knows your name. We came here not minutes after opening and already it’s bar that can fit 15 ppl easily was mostly full w their loyal patrons. Being the bar flies that we are, we squeeeezed our way into the bar, thanks to the kindness of our new friends. Conversation was lively, mood was happy, this establishment epitomizes the good natured ppl that live in Lake Tahoe. Since we were here for apps only, we got the French onion soup, lobster Mac n cheese and grilled artichokes. Every single thing was excellent. Beyond. For drinks we had the best martinis a man can ask for. It was dry and stiff, just the way I like ‘em. We combined our apps with the Walt Pinot Noir that was excellent. This rustic cottage vibe restaurant with the excellent drinks, food and people was just the ticket.
Oh my goodness. What a pleasant find. Such a relaxed and mellow atmosphere, nice new bar with serious old school Swiss decor and fantastic hospitality. I wanted to order everything on the menu and the artichoke, lobster mac and old fashioned were all exquisite. Will definitely return many times!!!
A perfect mountain restaurant... Great food, friendly people. Seafood curry medley was excellent. Souffle for dessert a must. Prime rib melted in the mouth. 4 stars for atmosphere only because it's a bit noisy.
We had Sunday lunch here. The service (Hannah) was splendid, friendly, and prompt. The food (Reuban and BLAT sandwiches) well prepared and presented. Margaritas are too tart, but overall, this is THE best lunch place on West shore. We will be back for dinner on another day this week.
Ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, French onion soup and the Grand Marnier Souffle! The soup was fabulous with just the perfect amount of cheese and onions. The weinerschnitzel was good. Alittle thin but tastey! Mashed potatoes seasoned just right. Red cabbage was also to my taste. Order for souffle got put in late but I'm sure it will be delicious! Overall food was delicious and once I was seated the service was great. I highly recommend eating at Swiss lakewood in Homewood! PS... drinks were great and they let you stay past closing!
Great experience, diverse memo with lots of choices across surf and turf... there is a leaning towards Swiss cuisine, but lots of alternates as well. However the Schnitzel was one of the best Ive ever had....
Solid wine list, lots of West coast options but also old world standards. I all also enjoyed the affordable choices with lots of wines by the glass.
Finally outdoor patio is beautiful, with water features that add to aesthetic and drown out road noise.
Really good food. I had the weiner schnitzel, and it was fabulous and the wait staff was very nice and helpful. We sat at the bar while waiting for our reservation (we were early). The bar tendered was friendly and guided us to a good reasonably priced bottle of wine. I will be eating and/or drinking there again.
Wonderful meal. Had the market price fish, which was sea bass with a mango sauce on top. Walt Pinot was superb, and the Grand Marnier souffle is a must. Restaurant has a beautiful patio with an outdoor and indoor bar. Beware though; if you make patio reservations and weather turns sour you are stuck with the patio. We ate inside just in case.
Food was amazing, service was poor unfortunately. Took about 20min or more just to order drinks and then it took about another 15 to get them. Otherwise lovely atmosphere and delicious menu!
We enjoy sitting at the bar when we go. Always excellent service The menu is never disappointing.
My wife and I dined here on our Honeymoon back in 2020. The experience was by far the best we have had, anywhere. The staff were extremely pleasant, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was beyond compare.
When we were there, there was an older couple there, celebrating their anniversary and we had a lovely conversation with throughout our evening. At the end of our time there, our check came and it said that our bill had been taken care of by the older couple and we were floored by their kindness.
Really it was just a fabulous night and I highly reccomend this restaurant to any who might be considering it.
Had heard from so many friends, and finally made it. Super tasty food, crab cakes delish, fantastic drinks. My martini was perfect, and the vodka soda was nice and stiff. Atmosphere was cozy, next time will do the bar and join the festive crowds.
