Review The Feast Restaurant - Holmes Beach

Lisa Hubbard
Trey did an outstanding job taking care of us. He made the kids feel special. We had the crab and artichoke dip, the lobster and shrimp risotto, a cheese pizza, broccoli cheddar soup and the T bone steak special. Everything was excellent. We will definitely be back to this treasure.

We came here based on the reviews. Grace our server was super friendly and nice. We got calamari as a starter and it was very fresh. We ordered 2 pasta plates one from the special menu. One was shrimp and crab and the other was shrimp and lobster both were amazing and the amounts were soo filling, there was enough shrimp and lobster which was a big plus given this is a pasta plate. Would love to go back again whenever we are here

We at here with a party of 11. We made reservations a few days prior so we didn't wait long once we got to the restaurant. They had to seat us outside on two picnic tables. Don't expect too much from their fans if it's a hot day or evening. We got the Caprese and Spring rolls as an app and they were very good. We ordered a cheese pizza and peperoni pizza for the kids. Was very good. Nice crust. I got the land and sea with the Filet and Diver Scallops. The scallops were great. Nice flavor and big. The filet was not a good filet. More like a Manhattan thick cut sirloin filet. Don't get it. Wife had the fresh fish with lump crab over it. She loved it. Mom got a slice of key lime pie that I had to finish off. She was not a fan. All and all they have some good things here but the pizza is prob the best thing they have. Was tempted to get the all you can eat crab legs but at $60 seemed a little steep to me. Maybe if it was $49. 1.5 lbs was $35. Next time we eat here we prob will just order pizza for takeout. If you enjoyed this review please be sure to click the like button. Thank you!

The Feast is one of our family's favorite restaurants on the island. We've tried many things on the menu and there's nothing I wouldn't order again. Pizza...delicious. Seafood...fresh. Steaks...prepared perfectly. Salad...heavenly (what I would give to have the dressing recipe on the Triopicale Salad!!). We go every time we are in town. Highly recommend.

Amazing food and outstanding service! Our server was super attentive and patient! Best dining experience on the island so far and definitely worth your money. edit: i got the australian burger with cheddar and american add bacon! delicious!

I came looking for Snow Crab Legs and this was the only place on Anna Maria Island that felt sure to have them. We came early and still had to sit outside but it was so worth it. While it was so hot, the staff was great and ensured we had plenty of cold water. The crab was great and very tasty. I think the all-you-can-eat is probably a bit much but 2 pounds is perfect. Would definitely return.

I had the Tropicana Salad with Salmon cooked just right. Husband had all you can eat crab. All dishes observed to other tables looked just as appealing as ours did. Our server, Trey, was on point….professional, courteous and friendly. The food was fresh and delicious. Nothing disappointing here. The Feast is well staffed and clean. Gordon Ramsey would be pleased!

Food was good. Coconut shrimp dinner was good, got 9 shrimps and two sides. Sides were a bit small, and could of had more of selections on sides available. Pricy for what u get, but what u would expect since it’s on Anna Maria island. Biggest convenience was take out was available, definitely was busy to eat in at the time. The fried shrimp was not that great, not much flavor and not crispy enough.

Nice little spot! We found this place through Google while vacationing here in Anna Maria. My husband got the Wagyu steak, and I got the Wagyu Burger. Both were really yummy! Same with the Wagyu Lasagna. The salad with the house dressing was really great too. We ordered mac n cheese for our children thinking it would be like a baked type mac n cheese, but it's just Kraft Mac! Lol, kinda on the expensive side for Kraft Mac for $12. Our server was really nice, and so were other employees.

Have been coming here for years and always make sure to get to this restaurant. Food is great and reasonably priced. We had a group of 9 people and everybody was happy with what they ordered. Service is always excellent and our server, Trey, did a great job. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who finds themselves on the island.

If you want great food this is the place. No working bar so I deducted a star for atmosphere. But whoever is running this kitchen knows how to cook. The "small" salad portion was just right as a pre-entree selection. The dressings were great and clearly scratch made. I had the Hogfish special topped with lump crab (photo). It was superb. Even the rice was excellent. We did take out pizzas from this place earlier in the week as well. Hot and fresh and very good. This should be in anyone's vacation rotation on the north end of the island.

The crab and shrimp linguine is fabulous !! The servers are always courteous and friendly. I recently found out they have pizza, and it turns out its the best pizza on the island

A new find and favorite! Knowing the sunset madness timing we found this spot and loved its menu. Delicious seafood pasta dishes and a nice atmosphere to have a date or bring family. Truly enjoyed and will be back again soon. Lovely waitress as well.

Ordered take out and ended up getting the wrong order (innocent mistake) went back in and not only did they give us the right one but they went beyond expectations to try to please us and apologize. We understand its busy and at dinner time so we didnt expect more than the right order and an apoligy but these people really care!!! We will remember the care for their customers when we return again!

This restaurant was AMAZING! We ordered the crab and artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was great. I ordered the shrimp, lobster, and scallop alfredo pasta with penne noodles and it was VERY scrumptious (I forget the name of the dish, but it was on the special dinners menu). The alfredo was buttery which paired well with the seafood. For dessert we ordered the crème brûlée. Our waitress was very nice. A 5 star meal that I will be thinking about for a very long time!!!

AMAZING pizza. We got it one night to try some new pizza on the island and OH MY GOSH - best pizza I’ve had on AMI. Brought it home and it was gone - everyone in the family said it was the best. It was so good we went back 2 nights later for dinner again and I got another pizza.

You were able to fit us in yesterday evening at 7pm. It was ours last evening on AMI and always come to The Feast for our Last Supper! Trey, our waiter, was attentive, informative, and very professional. He kept me in hot crab legs until I finally had to stop after 7 pounds! My family all had delicious entrees, and Trey suggested the Hogfish for my husband. It was off the chain 😎

While on a family vacation with my fiancés parents, we decided to try this restaurant. The food was great and had a pretty decent variety for those of us that don’t prefer seafood. In my opinion even a perfect meal can be ruined by poor service, and I’m very happy to share that our server Trey was absolutely phenomenal. I’ve dined in restaurants from fine to family diners and he provides one of the best server experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I’d definitely recommend eating here.

Really enjoyed our meal and service. We will be back for dinner on our next visit. The lobster bisque was one of the best on the island. We tried them ALL! 😂

The Feast is literally my favorite dining location on Anna Maria Island. The food is always fresh and local. The staff is knowledgeable, efficient and most importantly, courteous. I've never had a bad meal here. Keep up the good work! See you soon.

Food was good and the service outstanding! And good sangria!

The place is quaint inside. My waiter was pleasant and efficient. My family has lived on Anna Maria and Holmes Beach for 30 years as far back as when this location was the French Bistro. I recently visited and thought of scoping out a new place. Based on the rating, I decided to venture out and try The Feast.

I ordered the homemade crab cakes, one of their specials, with the choice sides of sweet mashed potato and brussel sprouts. The crab cakes were under seasoned and tasted more like flour than actual crab. The sprouts were overcooked, but the sweet mash was actually good. I ordered an $8 Prosecco and they brought me a small bottle of subpar Prosecco without a chilled glass. It was such a disappointment.

The place filled up with some tourists. While I was eating, I overheard the elderly couple behind me, the gentleman felt the pizza lacked meat and sauce. A large table with couples and kids, nearby, the kids complained of flat Coke.

After I left, I spoke with a relative who had eaten there twice and she also had an average to below average experience. Consequently, I find it difficult to believe this restaurant has a 4.2 rating. Visiting from Miami equipped with a family background of good cooks, this restaurant is far from being a feast! I hope they utilize the feedback provided to make actual improvements.

Surprising little find in a strip center near Decoy Ducks and Tortilla Bay right across from the new Marriott Waterline Hotel.

Made ressers for early table on Open Table and when we left about 730 there were people everywhere waiting for tables. There were two huge parties on hand when we were seated and it can be hard to squeeze in between the seats on the way to the back of the place. We had a nice table with the comfy sofa style seats on one side against the wall.

Beer and wine only in case that matters but they do have some good local brews. I had a local red ale.

App we ordered was a three way variety. Conch fritters. Shrimp wrap and coconut wraps. All very good with two dipper sauces. Weird they came out in to go plastic cups.

16 inch cheese pizza, bouillabaisse and hogfish were entrees. All four star and plenty of food. Took some home of pizza and some bouillabaisse shrimp too. No room for dessert. Service was Anna Maria friendly.

Certainly will return.

Great find in a old little strip mall. Beet salad was delicious and I wish I could have tried more dishes. Reasonably priced and available parking is a plus on the island.

The best meal we have all had all week on the island.

Price and portions were complimentary.

Lobster, scallops, steak, shrimp, salads, clam chowder... all were very tasty.

Bookmarked this place for sure.

Really great food in a very ugly strip mall. If you come to Anna Maria to see the sunset this may not be the place for you. But if you are tired of mediocre tourist food and want a really well done meal this place was a welcome change. Lots of great salads and apps. They serve beer and wine only, but I'd suggest the sangria...so yummy! Staff is attentive and pleasant. Worth finding this place!

Go here hungry!. Generous portions and a diverse menu! We had the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer plus three entrees that were ALL yummy! We can attest that the Chicken Carbonara with choice of three pastas (I chose penne), the New Englander (which included a DELICIOUS crab cake, 3 jumbo shrimp, and 2 scallops, and the House Salad with added Chicken (tasty tomato vinaigrette included) were tasty and filling. Our waitress was very attentive too!

We went to the feast for dinner. Busy place so it must be good, right. Wrong! Out waitress lousy. Our pizza taste like frozen. Then came the corker. We go to pay and the waitress tells us they ran our credit card four times but their machine doesn't work. Even though she ran table next to ours. So they would like to write down our cc info and run later...,huh are you kidding. We heard them do this to older people. Wondering what kind of scam they are running! Save yourself some hassle. Go somewhere else. They are many local places. Don't visit here.

A great dinner. For a special occasion we chose The Feast Restaurant. Having never visited before I envisioned a place with greasy chicken where you throw the bones on the floor. This isn’t that type of restaurant and in fact it is a normal restaurant with some very good food options. They have several dishes from the sea as well as the land, including a few chicken dishes. All of us chose seafood. They had several specials.

I started with a large bowl of Clam Chowder, salty and good with lots of clam pieces, an excellent start. For my entrée I picked a special. I love scallops and could not resist Scallops Piccata, four Diver Scallops with capers in a lemon wine sauce. Wow, was that good. The scallops were so large I was ok with only four. A large slice of house made Key Lime pie finished the meal, also good. Reviews from around the table were all positive, with the one suggestion for the chef to remove the shrimp tails before including them in the Seafood and Crab Alfredo.

Artwork for sale from local artists made up the décor. Out server did a great job, I can’t think of anything she or the restaurant could have done any better. It was a great dinner.

Best pizza!

When you walk into a place and the first smell is stale bleach water.........then leave! There is no way this should have a 91% rating. My grouper was obviously frozen. So was the seafood on everyone elses dishes. How does a restaurant so close to the water serve frozen seafood? Dont trust urbanspoon for ratings. The food here was terrible.

We had the Pretty Tasty and The Works pizzas. It was good. The crust could be a little crispier in the center. We called 20 minutes before they closed, but they were very accommodating.

Nice place. Took the family. Large portions. We should have split meals or skipped appetizers. They really weren't anything special. Don't go if you are I a rush because they take their time. I wish we could have sat outside but it was too chilly. There are so many nice places to eat on the island. This one was food for a chilly rainy night .

Great choice for authentic feel of Anna Maria. Cozy, friendly , home like food .
Clam chowder is delicious.
Not a typical tourist trap definitely .
Affordable good quality house wine!
Highly recommend !

Great Food. I have tasted the delectable Feast Restaurant menu for so many times already. They have this special steak sauce that I is simple delicious. It's heaven! I'm bringing the entire family there next month! Kudus to the chef of the restaurant. Also, I so love their restaurant website.

Ignore the decor...the food is so worth it!. I was skeptical when we first found this local eatery in a strip mall near Anna Maria, & the whole interior was painted an ugly odd shade of brown (perhaps in a failed attempt to accentuate the local art on the walls?). Luckily the cuisine proved extremely tasty! Grouper piccata, alaskan crab, scallops in a key lime sauce...don't forget the fantastic fried green tomatoes! First time I have had them, and I may now be addicted! Owner is attentive & may be your server. Wine is affordable. A must for locals or vacationers who don't want the typical tourist trap eateries.

This place has great apps- firecracker shrimp, Ahi tuna and fish bites are super tasty. Grilled Snapper sandwich, pasta salad and house salad main entree, nice sized portions, great flavor and very attentive service.

Terrible!. Disappointing, very disappointing. I ordered the Pastel Shrimps & Scallops and a cup of New England Clam Chowder as a take-out. Most of it went into the rubbish. The shrimps and scallops were fresh and cooked just right, but had been cooked without seasoning and hadn't even the faintest taste of salt, like they had been boiled then added to the dish. The dish came with spinach linguini and whatever sauce was used was also unseasoned. This seafood dish had tasted as bland as salt-restricted hospital food yet priced at $18! I couldn't believe it! The dish hadn't even included a wedge of lemon...

The New England Clam Chowder was disgusting, had a very bitter taste within a clear, paste-like broth. The potatoes and clams were pure mush! The chowder, if you want to call it that, went straight into my rubbish can, I found it unedible. The restaurant was also so cheap - they hadn't even included a napkin in the take-out bag. Save your money, maybe skip this restaurant or just don't order the Pastel Shrimp & Scallops nor New England Clam Chowder!

Really like it.. Can't say we've ever had a bad dish/bad experience in a half dozen visits. I like the place.

Soups were excellent. Bowl isn't much bigger than a cup though. Caprese salad was fine although I've never had it with green tomatoes before. Prices are more than fair. I'll be back.

Good, Reasonably-Priced Lunches. We've had a late lunch at The Feast a number of times the past two winters. The lunch menu is reasonably-priced and includes some smaller versions of the more pricey dinner menu, though the choices are limited as is the selection of "sides". The scallops and shrimp are exceptionally good. Overall, the food is well prepared and the service is friendly and prompt. The decor is uninspired. The location is very convenient with ample parking.

The Feast is the best restaurant in Holmes Beach for the price

Outstanding. Ahi tuna app was huge, fresh and tasty. Carbonara was nontraditional with bacon but very good. added scallops which were very good and a huge serving. Calamari was great. go hungry portions large. Get the Lobster bisque.

Disappointing. On vacation on AMI and decided to give A Moveable Feast a try based on positive reviews. While there were a few positives, the overall experience was disappointing.

We arrived at AMF for an early supper (approx 5:30). The dining room was pretty empty; although, business started picking up by the time we left. No problem getting a table for 5 and our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. The dining room was a bit dingy - lots of stains on the carpet but not bad enough to cause concern.

Beverage orders were taken immediately and brought quickly. We ordered Ahi tuna and grouper cheek appetizers and both were excellent. The tuna was perfectly prepared.

Our entrees included a tilefish special with shrimp and scallops, scallops in buerre blanc, clam strips, veggie lasagna, and pasta provencal. The tilefish was overcooked and under-seasoned. The texture was rubbery and the sauce was very bland. The scallops; however, were cooked perfectly. The beurre blanc had a very strong vinegar flavor which completely overwhelmed the scallops. Not at all enjoyable. The other dishes had average flavors - not good, not bad. They were cooked nicely, though.

I really wanted to like A Moveable Feast. As stated, the appetizers and service were superb. Most of the food was cooked correctly. Unfortunately, the entrees just didn't deliver on flavor.

A Nice Surprise. We have lived in the area for 25+ years and never knew about this restaurant. Although like other reviewers have commented, the atmosphere is very basic and the decor is understated but the food and service were fantastic. Our waiter was very friendly and informative, he gave us some great recommendations. The pizza was incredible and the veal was one of the best we've ever had and we eat out a lot! We own a rental unit on the beach and made sure to take some menus to leave for future guests. We will be back soon!

Just off the plane from Houston Texas visiting friends that rented a beach house in Anna Maria. This place has excellent pizza. Hit the spot after swimming. Ordered The Mexican and Pepperoni. The crust tastes like garlic bread sticks. The pepperoni is so good a picky two year old wanted seconds!

Had them deliver a meal when we arrived on the island, ample servings , prompt , food was good. It is a little pricey but you are paying for them to bring it to you , so it was expected.

YUM!. Really happy the Feast finally moved from Longboat to Holmes Beach. I'm a vegetarian, and really like the veg options - the pizza and veggie lasagna were both loaded with veggies, and the provencal pasta was fantastic. The seafood - especially the scallops - look great as well. It looks and feels like a classy restaurant, with the food to match, but with really reasonable prices. Great to have a nice delivery option close by too!
