To put it simply, this was the best Chinese food I've ever had. The place is seriously legit, with live fish and seafood swimming around in tanks. Everything was super-fresh and the menu was huge. We had the Peking pork, Grand Marnier shrimp with candied nuts and fruit, and salt and pepper chicken wings. Also asked for a side of their ginger sauce. It was all amazing. The young girl who was our server was super-friendly and explained that they do little advertising, relying on word-of-mouth. Take my word: this place is awesome!
Great Chinese Food!. After 12 years living in the west Broward area, I finally found a good Chinese take-out restaurant.
Finding this place by mistake while surfing Yelp last week, I ordered a quart of special fried rice, a large order of spare ribs, a quart of mixed soup, four egg rolls and a quart of honey garlic chicken.
Basic take-out in the Lewis household with two adults and three small children, but good food overall. Not a single person had a problem or complaint.
Eating Chinese is hard for my wife and I as we are bariatric weight loss patients of Dr. Paul Wizman. As such, some food we can eat, some we can't. In this instance, we both ate all of the food and had no problems. This is the first Chinese restaurant that we could say this.
Arriving at the restaurant, I was met with several fish tanks and an overall dive-type style of restaurant. I knew this coming into Dragon City as I saw it on Yelp. This didn't bother me as none of the reviews complained of cleanliness - only the look of the place. Looks don't matter - the food does.
No complaint - no problem - we will visit again on our next take-out order of Chinese.

It's as close to being on the other side of the world as you can get. Must ask for Chinese menu! 5stars *****
Authentic chinese food. Food is the closest to authentic chinese food that is eatible that you can find in South Florida. Restaurant itself is not attractive, but you cannot order their "specials" for take-out, just dine-in only, so no choice.
Dragon City is the BEST authentic Chinese food I have ever had in Florida. I have spent the last 15 years eating in the top NYC Chinatown restaurants and Dragon City goes toe to toe with them. Highly recommend checking this place out.
Duck has the crispiest skin ever but has lots of fat (not their fault). Fish ball wonton noodle soup was fresh and home made, especially the fish balls (fish rolled into a meatball shape) but the wonton was not my favorite. Soup has no MSG so add soy sauce for taste. Fried stuffed tofu was crispy but no real seasoning on the tofu and size was too big (I like Chang’s Chinese restaurant on 107th Avenue and coral gables for fried tofu instead). The food is fresher than most Chinese restaurant and many stuff are home made like the fried fresh peanuts. Decor is average but service seems fine.
Update (5yrs later)-Haven’t been here for a while but loved the duck noodle soup so much I felt the need to write about it. Since it wasn’t planned I wasn’t able to take a proper picture of the dish. The duck was flavorful and moist (perfect cooking temperature). The noodles were hong kong style so it didn’t get soggy after soaking in the yummy broth all night. It was perfect. Will come back again just to eat this dish.
Came back again for the duck noodle soup and the same issue occurred where dish was not the same as before. A major flaw here is consistency in food quality.
My mom’s fish ball noodle was homemade but noodles were all clumpy and stuck together (preparation issue). She said the taste and quality of the fish balls were average.
This place has the BEST Cantonese cuisine in all of Florida. I’ve been eating here for 4 years and the food has always been the best. The restaurant looks way better after they did a renovation. The food taste exactly like the food you would get if you when to a restaurant in China. Highly recommend this place to anyone that’s reading this review.
It was a nice Saturday evening and as soon as you walk in the restaurant you're hit with these amazing aromas coming from the kitchen. Then when we were being seated in the restaurant we noticed it was full of Asian families sitting at the large round tables so I knew I was in the right spot for outstanding food. I wasn't disappointed. The food was flavorful served in large portions to share with everyone at the table and we also took home food. I loved it and I will be back because the menu has so many other dishes I would like to try, especially the seafood section which is a whole separate menu.
Went here twice in the past week. Since the first visit all I've heard from my 87 year old Auntie is, "Chinese food place" in very broken English. We all really enjoyed it the first time, arrived later and were unable to take advantage of the crab deal because it had already sold out for the night. So we elected to try the lobster, orange chicken, and some lo mein. It was a great meal and experience so we went again tonight.
The place is centered on fresh seafood. There are live lobster, crab and fish in tanks visible from just a few steps from the front door. You are initially greeted by an ornamental salt tank and the edible tank on the back wall. As far as Chinese food goes, this place is as good or better than what I have grown to love in Chinatown Los Angeles. Like, Jackie Chan's restaurant and the #1 rated restaurant of Chinatown "Yang Chow".
Our second trip had one slight issue but I'm still rating this 5 stars because of the way it was handled and because the issue was not a mistake it was more of a miscommunication. Their are multiple menus and it can be a little confusing. When we ordered the lo mein tonight it came out as more of a chow mein. I suppose it could have been us but we ordered it the exact same way we did before so I'm not sure where the breakdown was but either way we mentioned it and they tried to fix it. It still did not come back the way we wanted it so they agreed to remove the item from the bill. My only feedback would be to streamline the menu or it may have been a genuine mistake. The point is they took care of it without hesitation and I suppose I could give them 4 stars for it but nobody is perfect. I would hate to miss out on great food myself if I were searching for good local Chinese food so I am holding strong with 5 stars because I sincerely believe they make really good food.
If you're looking for a deal go with the crab but if you want some really delicious seafood I'd highly recommend getting the lobster over the crab any time. It's so good and judging by the lobster tank in the lobby, your meal will be alive up until a few moments after you place your order. That goes for the crab too. But I think it's at least worth mentioning if you go for the higher expense of the lobster, you will not be disappointed.
This place is like a typical NYC Chinatown restaurant. It’s very casual, the service is okay, and it might not look the cleanest, but the food is great! It always comes out pretty fast and hot too. This is our go-to place for authentic Chinese food but they do have a lot of America style Chinese food options too, as well as many specials on a Chinese written menu.
Excellent. You have Chinese food menu for Americans ( what I mean by-that is.. a menu what Americans typically consider Chinese food) and an authentic Chinese menu. Ordered cashew chicken from the typical menu, was excellent( a little chili oil would have been nice) roasted duck and salt and pepper soft shell crab was excellent from the authentic menu.
I give the restaurant 4 stars because of a piece of plastic in the duck plate. Waiter barely apologized, and was kinda rude. Service was fast.
I picked honey garlic chicken, Hunan fish(mung fish pieces) and house special (meat +shrimp) lo mein as a special meal for myself after a trip to the operation room at the hospital. So I'm nearly 200lbs to begin with so yes I'm a bit larger. I split the lo mein and fish dish + white rice into 4 paper bowls and was absolutely stuffed full at the end. I had to fast for the operation and it was for a painful condition so I was a bit hungry. I try to order enough for leftovers when I get delivery too, to offset the added costs and service fees. I added the honey garlic sauce and sides of hot oil and white sauce to each bowl. I didn't enjoy the white sauce but everything else was really tasty and balanced nutritionally. I asked for woodear mushrooms but the store I guess didn't have any in stock today. Still have about 2 quarts of white rice and the unsauced fried chicken for later. Order was placed on the restaurant's website and fulfilled by a happy DoorDash driver.
Would order again and was happy with the value ( food wasn't greazy and made with quality ingredients).
After working a double shift, I was starving. Not knowing what places were open around midnight, I asked Google to search for Chinese restaurants that are open at this time and Dragon City was at the top of the list.
Located along Stirling Rd., Dragon City is a large Chinese restaurant that offers dine in, take out, delivery, and catering. They are open seven days a week until 2am. There is a vast selection of dishes such as soups, appetizers, seafood/beef/chicken/pork/vegetable dishes, moo shu, chow mein & lo mein, fried rice, chef specialties, and much more.
There are plenty of table seating as well as single chairs for customers to wait for their take out orders. I was amazed to see tanks filled with live lobsters, fishes, eels, and big crabs which I believe they use in their seafood selections. After overlooking the menu, I decided to order an egg roll and a pint of house special fried rice. The waiting time was about 15 minutes. When I received the food, the smell coming from the bag was so tempting, I couldn't help but dig in the bag and start eating. The egg roll was enjoyable. Hot and crunchy on the outside with tender vegetables on the inside. The house special fried rice was nicely cooked with pieces of chicken, shrimp, and pork; and it wasn't greasy or salty. Definitely hit the spot as a late night meal. I shall return to try other dishes.
As an American going into a True Oriental Restaurant...We had the greatest experience. As a party of 4, and not understanding the entire menu, Jennifer our Food Server was very patient and extremely helpful in our choices. The foods here are amazing, are very flavorful and family style portions. You must try their Shrimp Dumpling Soup. I was most amazed by the Roasted Oysters with black bean sauce. We can't wait to return!!
This place was really good had a whole lobster to myself price wasn't bad at all. Mongolian beef I believe went there on a weekend night and was not packed at all good spot. Recommend trying once.
