Holbrook Bakery

Great country flavour with service to match. We were on our way home from Melbourne and just crossed the border. We've been traveling for a few hours so it was no surprise that our stomachs started grumbling. A quick google search and we came across Holbrook Bakery with great google reviews. This place did not disappoint! The pies were flavoursome and if you have a bit of a sweet tooth, the pastries were delicious too. My partner and I grabbed a Country Chicken Pie, and a Steak Curry Pie. We accompanied it with a nice apple slice which balanced it perfectly from savoury to sweet. The staff were very pleasant, a perfect example of the good ol country hospitality. We highly recommend the Country Chick and recommend getting here a little early as the pies could run out.

I think this might win best pies in Australia. Had 4 pies here: Country chicken, Hamburger (which literally tasted like a triple cheeseburger in pie pastry), lamb and rosemary (very juicy and smooth), and steak + mushroom. Also had a sausage roll. The pastry doesn’t flake too much but it is perfectly crisp.

Stopped in for breaky after the Anzac dawn service and we were so glad we did! Great breaky burgers - loved the Benedict one with hollandaise sauce. Also loved the freshly baked Anzac biscuits which were a lovely surprise with our coffees (so much so, we went back to buy some for the road)! I heard these guys do some damn good pies, so we can’t wait to try them next time :)

I'm always on the lookout for a good morning cup of coffee and some of the reviews on Google directed me to the Holbrook Bakery. Well, perhaps they were having a bad day but the coffee was nothing close to what I expected. So many places are charging a lot of money for very average coffee. From my experience, if you want good coffee, this is not the place.

Always a go to on our drive to Melbourne. This little bakery is awesome, food is great and the staff are always lovely. The pies and sausage rolls are great and the large wagon wheels are so food and a great flash back to a lunch box treat and oversize. Do yourself a favor and one for you and the kids.

This is a must “pop in” at the halfway mark to Sydney. Just off the Hume, it has the best coffee, sandwiches, wraps, breads, bacon & egg rolls, pies, pastes, sausage rolls sweet treats etc. etc plus a selection of preserves, that vary each visit but you could find a range of gourmet sauces, preserves prunes, pickles and relishes. There are also lovely artworks hanging in the dining area, which are for sale. Lastly, the staff are friendly, efficient and have amazing memories.
