This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Hoboken. Food here is not american blended, and has very authentic taste. I tried their Samosa, Paneer tikka, Panner curry and Garlic naan. Samosa was served hot with two tasty chutneys. Paneer was soft and tasted home-made and rose lassi was one of best i have ever had.

Soul Curry is a contemporary Indian restaurant which is a new addition to the Hoboken food space. The restaurant has generated some great buzz in the area and had recently visited them with a group of friends. It was a pleasant surprise, the menu was pretty simple and quiet unique, food was fabulous, the ambience was great and service was wonderful. The restaurant has great vibe, the red brick wall and the Indian murals give it a modern look with the perfect lighting to set the right atmosphere. FYI, the restaurant is BYOB only and they also seem to have outdoor seating to enjoy the summer weather. It being an Indian restaurant, it's needless to say the food was pretty vegetarian friendly. Reading all the reviews, we tried 'Naanchos' which is an Indian take on Nachos. Its a pretty unique dish where they serve nachos and cheese with mint and tamarind sauces. The mint sauce is spicy and refreshing where as the tamarind sauce is sweet and tangy setting the right balance. We also tried the samosa chaat and it was pretty authentic. For the mains we tried Paneer Butter Masala and Mixed Vegetable Curries with some Garlic Naan & Cheese Jalepeno Naan. The Paneer Butter Masala was their most popular veg option but found it a tad too sweet and can definitely be improved. The mixed vegetable curry was great and the Naans were fresh and fluffy. The Cheese Jalepeno Naan was something new I tried and was pretty good. We also has the Indo-Chinese Vegetable Fried rice, the rice was pretty flavorful and tasty and can easily serve more than 2 people. And finally we tried the Desserts. I was super excited to try the Gulab Jamun Creme Brulee, it was a great fusion between the classic french dessert creme brulee and the famous Indian gulab jamun. The dish was pretty cool and very unique, and it had the characteristic caramelized crunchy crust on top. We also tried the kheer, it was simple but very tasty, probably one of the best kheers I tried in the States. Recommendations: Appetizers: Naanchos, Samosa Chaat Mains: Mix Vegetable Curry Desserts: Gulab Jamun Creme Brulee, Kheer Overall its a must try restaurant with a unique perspective on Indian food.

Delicious food! I had the Delhi butter chicken and it was just the right amount of spicy. Service could be a little more attentive, but overall great! I'm definitely going back!

A good Indian fusion place in Hoboken. The Naanchos is an innovative dish which has Nachos, Cheese over it and Sweet Chutney on top. The samosas were authentic. Paneer butter masala was sweet so would recommend letting the chef know beforehand on adding some spice. The vegetable curry was unique. The fried rice was pretty good too. Last but not least - the gulab jamun creme brulee was very original and tasty and would make this dish to be an innovative one. The service was pretty quick with a great decor and good food.

If you're looking for some authentic Indian taste full of spices, this is the perfect spot! FOOD- We tried Chicken chilli appetizer, Spicy Shrimp curry & Madras Fish curry. The curries were simply excellent!! Chef Hari actually came over to ask the patrons if the food was good. I wish they served plain tandoor rotis as well. AMBIENCE- Nice and warm with a touch of Indian art. SERVICE- Good & quick.

This is a great little spot for indian fusion food. We tried several different menu items and they all panned out well, we were not disappointed by any of them. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area. The food isn’t heavy, and their dishes are unique for an indian restaurant. The restaurant’s ambiance is great as well. 10/10 would go again if I’m in the area ever.

Wow, where do I even start?! Soul Curry is such a gem, and thanks to Yelp and Google reviews for helping me find them! I went for the first time last night to celebrate my husband's birthday. From the food to the space to the the staff - 'twas incredible! They have a variety of veggie and meat dishes - so it was perfect for our party of 15 people of vegan, vegetarians and meat eaters! We were able to setup a family style dinner for our party reservation and what we had is below... For apps we had: BBQ chicken butter wings - so tender and seasoned pretty perfectly, Quiona Tikki - delicious veggie option and not really spicy for those that might be more sensitive to spice, Samosas are a nice hearty size and also delicious!! Make sure to get their sauces to put on top too -YUM!!!! The Laal Maas (lamb), Kale Saag Paneer, Aloo Gobhi (cauliflower dish) and Burrata Butter Chicken that we got for main entrees to share were also SO delicious. The lamb and chicken both have the perfect amount of spice. The chicken is just as delicious as all the previous reviews say it is, very well seasoned, tender and such a nice twist with the burrata cheese on top! The Kale Saag Paneer is a great vegetarian option, savory and I love their spin with kale (instead of the typical spinach). I believe the cauliflower dish is vegan, and that was a surprising favorite as well! We got their creme brulee as a dessert which was such a great balance of creamy and sugary. It was really the icing on the cake to the entire meal! Another plus -it's BYOB as well! From the moment I reached out to Soul Curry, they were welcoming and accommodating every step of the way. I can't thank the staff, especially Praful, enough for everything. From responding to tons of my questions via email to set up the dinner and through the entire dinner they were friendly, attentive and accommodating. Their modern twists on classic Indian dishes, and the great energy they bring to the table (food/service) really make everyone feel right at home. We are already looking back to our future visits to explore more parts of the menu and visit a new favorite! Thank you for it all!
