Excellent food, great atmosphere, and amazing hosts. These guys have really taken the essence of Hoboken and brought it back to life with this spot. Food is on point and that oven still works wonders after all these years. Great spot!
Charismatic employees and one bad ass mustache behind the bar. Keep doing what you're doing because this place has a great vibe and is charming to boot. The fries are FANTASTIC! Will highly recommend!!
Pretty damn good food but not quite on par with the steep prices.
Starting with the drinks, there’s a small handful of house cocktails. A few are very subtle variations on classics like the Manhattan, while others are more original. I particularly enjoyed the Smoking Mary and the My Fate.
We started with the mussels which were very good. There was quite a lot of roasted garlic slices thrown (more on this later). I had the hanger steak and my wife ordered the burger. The steak was pretty good but came with a whole roasted garlic as it’s side which I thought was pretty odd and in fact not worth trying to eat despite being fully cooked (it would be a breath bomb). The burger was fine but nothing outstanding.
Service was great, nothing to complain about. Though I can say that it’s very difficult to get a table here in the first place which is annoying.
It’s worth coming here if you’re on a date and want to make it a special occasion or something. Just beware that the prices are VERY steep. Our modest dinner with mostly the cheapest dishes came in at $150 before tip, including a whopping $64 for four cocktails (that is Manhattan pricing so keep that in mind as you select a restaurant within metro distance of Hoboken).
I love how each dish is so unique! The menu is made like a movie script which is one of a kind. I highly recommend the rice balls, those are so flavorful. Every dish is well presented which is what I love. The bread pudding is well made and tastes so good, the best I have ever had. The only reason this place loses one star is due to the fact that the food was slightly delayed but the quality and quantity did make up for it.
Wow! What a unique spot to eat at. We made a reservation and got there early and we’re still seated. We ended up there for nearly three hours (partially because of the somewhat slow service, though the service was great and Ryan M was wonderful). We were in a secluded corner of the restaurant and loved the appetizers most of all — the rice balls and plantain croquettes were incredible. Our entrees were fine — I got a special burger and my boyfriend got the 3-pound ribeye (the menu just lists market price so be warned if you’re not super familiar — the steak was $155 and definitely not worth it, but that’s on him also for ordering it). The bread pudding tastes like the center of a cinnamon roll — so good! Definitely an expensive place to go for a nice date night, not a spot we will frequent often but one we will visit for special occasions.
Of all the places we’ve tried in Hoboken, Antique Bar & Bakery never fails to impress! In fact, it’s earned it’s position as my favorite restaurant in Hoboken. The menu changes seasonally so you can always guarantee fresh, quality food. Their unique spin on classic dishes makes dining there a truly one of a kind experience. The cocktails pack a punch and have a delicious uniqueness as well. Love Buzz was my favorite, but I think they’ve removed it from the menu, however, the other selections I’ve tried instead were very good too. Can’t go wrong with picking this spot whether it’s for a date night, night out with friends or family, or a special occasion. Of course I chose to come here for my 30th birthday and even with a table of 14 people, the service was impeccable as always. Love this spot and will keep coming back time and time again!
When I was researching where to eat in Hoboken prior to our trip, Antique was a name that repeatedly came up from food bloggers, friends that live there, and Hoboken guides. We were lucky to snag reservations here, and I can see why the place is so popular! Everything was excellent, and you don’t have to worry about your food coming out cold here! Everything is piping hot from the coal oven it’s cooked in. The meals were excellent, and we couldn’t get over how fantastic the skillet cookie was for dessert. I definitely see myself returning here when I visit the area!
The girls and I got together for Sunday brunch and made reservations for this location. When we arrived we were lucky to find parking right in front. We walked in and was greeted. I told the guy that I had reservations and our server Annaliza came over. She said they were getting the table together. We waited about 20 minutes before we were sat. The place was decorated like an old, grungy, antique place which fit the theme.
We started with drinks and got mimosas. The mimosas were good but had too much pulp. The girls got the hot oil shrimp appetizers and I tasted one and boy was it good. For brunch I got the chicken sandwich and the girls got the boriqua breakfast. When my sandwich came out it had cheese on it which was not listed on the menu and I don't eat. So they took it back, remade it and comped my meal. I was appreciative. The girls really enjoyed their meals. One of my girlfriends got the bread pudding to go and I tasted it. It was very good and there was so much of it. The bill was very affordable and the service from Annaliza was great. I would definitely return.
