My family and I were in HHI for my husband’s birthday… it was important for us to have a beautiful and delicious cake and this sweet lady delivered the best!! So accommodating and helpful… cake was so good… my husband was happy and we were excited to celebrate him with this awesome cake!! Thanks to the purple cow!!

The Purple Cow is unique from all other bakeries and pastries sold on the island. The owner not only makes the most (baked, not fried) delicate and delicious treats, but she engages with her customers, connecting with them by going out of her way to genuinely get to know them. I appreciate her telling us her story. Each sweet treat sold is done so with love and passion. So, next time we visit the island, we will make this the first stop onto the island and the last stop before leaving.

Outstanding! Love, love, love, love The Purple Cow! We ordered 6 vegan and 6 regular donuts. My wife was in charge and got everyone's (me and the kids) order the night before. She emailed our order in around 8 PM the night before. We got an email about 1:30 AM that our donuts would be ready to pickup at 8:30 AM. Thankfully they had some tables and chairs in the front of the building and I didn't have to devour my donuts in the car. I would have tried and I would have made a huge mess. I just can't describe how good the vegan donuts were. Everyone loved their donuts! Very cool place, cool owner and the donuts are outstanding. My wife enjoys her Purple Cow shirt!

We had an EXCELLENT experience at the purple cow! This is a one woman show doing it all!!! We were there kinda early and she was almost sold out! She had made tons of goodies for the day, they were just gobbled up that fast, because those that know…. Get there early! She literally can’t make things fast enough. Everything we got was yummy and unique… her baked warmed donuts with custom icing are so unique. Go early or order the day before because her oven can only bake so much, you don’t want to miss out. Next time we will order the day before. The owner was definitely tired as she had just finished the Easter weekend, but she was kind and enthusiastic about her art. She was very thankful that we stopped in to see her and try her goodies. 💜💜💜💜💜💜

This place was awesome. Pretty decent prices and some unique ice cream flavors. The cocktails were a bit pricey, but that's everywhere you go in a touristy area. I got some apple cider with a shotnof whiskey in it, which is really good and if you're in Hilton Head for the winter, try it! The lady who owns the place was really nice too. Definitely a place to visit in Hilton Head. Oh, also, there's pictures of cows all over the place in there which is fitting for the name. Some of them are hilarious and some are terrifying, so I put pictures below!

This is the ONLY donut shop on the island. Absolutely mooo-tastic! Great donuts and coffee cake! Pro tip: Order the day before to grantee donuts for your family pick up. She usually sells out by 8am.

Oh boy! This place is awesome! They have multiple vegan and gluten free options. Along with everything else tasty you can imagine. Construct your own donuts with so many different choices - they make them while you wait. Great atmosphere. Sit down and chill with some evening drinks too! Owners/workers are super friendly and helpful! We had a vegan donut, GF cheesecake, pop tart and lava cake. Fabulous works of art!! And they don't make you take straws!!!

These donuts are worth the wait. They are baked to order so it takes a little longer than your average donut shop. But I’ve never had a better donut. The are light and fluffy and full f flavor. We tried six different combinations and there are so many more. We also tried the iced coffee which was delicious. To top it all off, the service was absolutely fabulous. They are so welcoming and inviting. It’s a place for locals and visitors alike. You won’t regret stopping here.

I love the Purple Cow! I was so sad when I saw their storefront was gone this year but was so excited when I saw their popup at Fat Baby’s! We got their first thing and got a baker’s dozen of their selection for the day and they were a hit with the family! Definitely recommend!

My wife and I visited the Purple Cow last week during our vacay on HHI. My wife is a vegan and was looking for a great vegan dessert spot. This spot makes homemade vegan donuts which did not disappoint! We didn’t know about ordering ahead of time so we walked in (super clean business) and placed an order. After 15 minutes, my wife had a box of hot vegan donuts that looked better than anything else. We chatted a bit with the owner (who told us she was originally from NY- so are we) and she gave my wife some recommendations for vegan spots around the island. Super friendly and will definitely be back when we revisit HHI next spring. Definitely check this place out, whether you’re a vegan or not- sweets all looked SO good!

Amazing vegan donuts!!! So delicious and so many customizable options. Just be sure to put in your order via email the night before because by 8:30 am they were already mostly sold out of the ones they'd made for the store. Their soymilk lattes were also good.

Great donut and pastry shop on HHI. We went first thing in the morning and really enjoyed the visit. The cinnamon rolls were heavenly -so fresh and flavorful. Don’t let the washed out colors of my picture fool you, the donuts were vibrant and decadent. We also enjoyed a plain iced latte, good espresso IMO contrary to other reviews.

Such a great experience today! Food was delicious, coffee was good, and the staff is so friendly. Very cute indoor seating area, looked kid friendly when you’re ready for indoor dining. Highly recommend!

From someone who is gluten free and struggles to find actually good desserts that are FRESH and TASTY, this hits the spot. I got a half dozen of custom donuts with all sorts of combinations, all of which were so good. I visit HHI every year and this will be a spot I will come every year!

All natural, homemade donuts. Need I say more. These treats were a mixture between a cake and a donut. I loved the natural taste of these yummy donuts. I'd never tasted donuts like this before. I would definitely get some again if I were ever back in the area.
