A small place with an awesome view, great wait staff and food. You will want to make reservations, or possibly be turned away. They seat on the half hour. We had brunch and it by far was the best we've ever had! The quiche was housed in the fluffiest crust I've ever had....wish I could bake like this. Call, quick, you won't be disappointed!
I love the brunch menu at Sunset Grille. We arrived by boat which is a lot of fun. If you drink, you must have the Bloody Mary. It is made with Hugh's special smoked poblano sauce and is the best on the island. Their food is superb. The view is amazing.

We go here every year. The food is delicious, the service is attentive, and the view is unsurpassed. We were just there last night and my brother-in-law loved the pork belly, my husband raved about the duck, my sister-in-law had specialty bruschetta and pork belly, and I had scallops with an amazing sauce. Oh, reservations are a must as the restaurant is small and always full.
This is one of my favorite restaurants any place in the world. The Food, service, atmosphere and view are always above and beyond. The blueberry pie is a absolute must have !!!

Are you tired of me stating how good the Shrimp and Grits are here? Have not tried anything else on the menu so can't expand on that. But one other thing I can expand on is the view from Sunset Grille of the Intercoastal Waterway is stunning!

I cannot tell you enough about how amazing the food was!!! I went with a group and we all got something different so we could share and EVERYTHING was so delicious!! We also had NO WAIT at 8:15pm. Everywhere else was a 2 hour or more wait. The ocean view was also incredible! The staff was so very friendly and although it was small and quaint, the food was 5 stars all the way from appetizers to dessert! We will be coming here every time we visit Hilton Head! This is a MUST to eat when you come to HH!
Charming restaurant with genteel owner and superb food prepared in most manner. Beautiful views of surrounding sound. A must for your trip to Hilton Head Island. And don't be turned off by the location adjacent to a RV campground. It doesn't diminish the charm of this wonderful eatery.
What a great surprise and a great Sunday brunch. Good service, spectacular views. Can't wait to return. Oh,and very reasonably priced.
We stayed at the RV Resort and needed a restaurant close by so we would not be away from our dog for a long time. We were told about this restaurant at check-in but Google reviews also caused us to visit. Now, we have a new place to come back to. The food and service were both outstanding! The views were stunning! They were even gracious to take photos of us outside with the sunset.

Loved all the food... the "beef hash" is not really hash, it's chunks (but was delicious) .... our server was excellent! The view is beautiful!

What a hidden gem. We’ve been coming to HHI for years and had somehow missed Sunset Grille. We went for Sunday brunch and are already planning a dinner visit soon. Today we had Shrimp and Grits as well as Belgian Waffles with Caramelized Apples and the not to be missed Mimosa.
Highly recommend.

Parking is a trick to figure out but a charming spot with great views! Small so you need reservations and can only call during business hours to make them, no online res option (google is wrong, they open at 5 not 6). And like other reviews state, don’t count on them keeping your reservation correctly. I made reservations for 4 over a week in advance and for some reason they had us for 2. They accommodated us though. In future I may make an excuse to call back a day ahead to make sure they got it right.
Was disappointed with the overcast sunset for a bday dinner but obviously not on them and still lovely ambiance. Service was ok, food was very good. The blue cheese salad was perfectly dressed and the mushroom soup special was to die for! Scallop main had craisins in the risotto which I found weird but once I picked them out it was very good. The chicken and mushrooms pasta was also excellent. We shared a Bailey and chocolate bread pudding for dessert that was awesome.
The drinks werent great. The dirty martini was straight up awful and my mai tai was soso.
The bathrooms are downstairs and the restaurant is not handicapped accessible. Not an issue for our group but may be for some folks.
All of that said it was still a wonderful dinner! Lived here all my life and it was my first trip here! Will be back, it was a lovely evening and I imagine probably the best waterfront sunset view on the island on a clear day!
Really unknown place, unless you’re a local, I’m told; however, I believe that’s how the owners want it. Just getting around to reviewing this great place, so here it goes!
They say it’s fine dining and I would agree the food is but don’t feel like you have to dress up — we were fairly casual and many there were as well. Don’t even try to go if you don’t have a reservation b/c it ain’t happening! Also, they don’t do to go orders, you have to sit down and eat there to get food. We had one at 8 pm, just before sunset. Aside from the food, coming here is worth it just for the view. Doesn’t get better!
I had Scallop Risotto and it’s was good — way too salty but still good (I was starving and ate all of it). My son had the duck and it was amazing! We also had a fried oyster appetizer, along with a shrimp dip that was to die for. Had a few mixed drinks and they were made perfectly — couldn’t ask for better. It is a small restaurant and they only serve dinner, so make a reservation and enjoy!
Small and atmospheric spot right on the water with a beautiful backdrop, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and some absolutely incredible food. I'd make reservations if you're looking to enjoy a night here as seating is fairly limited.

Outstanding meals around our table! Shrimp and grits were great. Extremely pleasant staff. Only issue is dining area is a tad bit noisy.
Small dining room that feels massive based upon the natural light pouring in across the water. Our meals, mahi-mahi special, short ribs, and the scallop risotto were amazing. Staff was attentive, smiling and welcoming.we will be back and will bring some friends!
Sunset Grille is a hidden gem on Hilton Head. A lovely small and intimate restaurant with some of the best views! The food? Well, nothing less than excellent. Give it a try, you will be pleased.
Excellent spot for dinner, their website does it NO justice. Beautiful view, great food and we felt very fortunate they were attached to our RV resort. I wouldn't label it as "cheap" but that's not a bad thing at all, quality isn't cheap. Also, keep in mind this is open to anyone, not just RV park users. You can even boat in, which looked like an amazing way to have dinner!

Sunset Grille was not a planned dining experience, but it was fantastic! We went there intending to have a drink before going to our later dinner reservation, and decided to stay when the only open table was offered. That said, CALL AHEAD. They have very limited seating and are normally full so make a reservation! The food was excellent, the wine was great, and the sunset views were absolutely stunning while watching dolphins swimming. All in all, definitely would recommend trying this place for a date night or small dinner with friends.

This hidden gem shouldn’t be missed when in the Hilton Head area. I don’t think the locals want to share anything about this spot. Unbelievable sunset in a comfortable setting with great food and outstanding service. This will be a the top of our list when we return to the area.
