Review Vibe - Hilo

Mackenzie Saunders
Amazingly cute plant-based restaurant! I don’t think all menu items are vegan, but the majority are. I highly recommend the nachos! The cashew nacho sauce is fantastic - it’s so smooth and has a nice spice level. The only up level to the nachos could be some heartier chips, but no complaints - especially with the huge portions! There are some other folks serving jackfruit on the island, and Vibe Cafe is easily doing jackfruit the best. We also got the santorini flatbread, which was yummy. The employee who helped ring us up was also super kind!!! Great service, great overall experience.

The vibes were immaculate in all aspects. Hands down some of the best vegan food I’ve ever experienced (and I’m vegan). The coffee is amazing boots the house down (try the coconut rose latte). Also had the Big Hawaiian burger and it was the best burger I’ve ever had! The staff was also super friendly and we really enjoyed our multiple trips to Vibe while visiting. A must go-to on Big Island!

I visited this spot on my last day of vacation and was getting stressed about going back to work. I walked in, and the "good vibes only" sign was right in my face, and I was greeted by a really friendly staff member. The greeting felt really genuine and made me feel good to be there. The experience really started to change my mood. I got the vegan chicken caesar salad, and it was absolutely delicious, the lavender latte was bomb, and the Cali Rootz burger was amazing. I'm so happy we went here and would go back again and again. If you're vegan and in Hilo, don't miss this spot!

So gooood! We had the tofu scramble and avocado toast and they were fabulous. So many vegan options! Highly recommend for breakfast / lunch in Hilo

Super cute space and friendly staff. Wide variety of unique options on the menu, and a great selection of hard kombucha. I’ve never seen these flavors anywhere else! I had the Greek salad and everything was so fresh. Highly recommended for a healthy bite! There were also tons of drinks, but we didn’t have time. Will have to go back.

5 stars for Ambiance however the service is a bit slow and the food is decent with quite a bit of options. We ordered loaded avocado toast, Vegan benedict and Vegan scramble. The benedict and scramble come with a side of fried rice and the scramble comes with a side of toast. The vegan patty on the benedict is pretty decent but a bit dry and the sauce is ok.

EDIT Nov 2023: I hadn't been here in a year and things changed a lot. The prices went up and the portion sizes went down. They also crossed out many ingredients from the menu items, making them less interesting and yet more expensive. I'm sad to have spent $45 for two burgers (no drinks) and still be hungry... They were tiny! Unfortunately I don't think I'll be coming back very often anymore. Original review (summer 2022): Love this place, the vibe, the food and the drinks. It's a little bit on the expensive side for similar restaurants in Hilo, though. For that I take off half a star. They also accept laptops but only for a max of an hour, which doesn't make it a good place for remote work. That's a shame and what makes me remove the other half star. Today I had the Philly cheese steak, which was way too dry in my opinion (as of Aug. 2022) - especially for a Philly which is generally very juicy. I would not recommend this item. I also had a cacao elixir (aka hot chocolate) and that was very good - I would recommend.

My daughter and I recently visited Hilo, and we eat vegan due to her allergies and my health. This was hands down our favorite place to eat during our visit. She still talks about donuts and I cannot get over the breakfast options. Can't wait to visit again <3

We came here 3x during our stay in Volcano. Worth the drive for some fresh and incredible dishes. We ate inside each time since it’s right off a busy road and quite load, but inside was nice and welcoming. My husband and I are vegan and this place being a vegetarian restaurant had plenty of vegan options or things that could be modified to be vegan. First night I got the beet poke bowl and my husband got the big nasty burger (modified). Next time we came during breakfast and I got the loaded avocado toast and he got the breakfast nachos and a cappuccino with oat milk. The cappuccino was heavy on the milk so it was more like a latte but it was still good. We personally just prefer a more traditional cappuccino. The last night we got taco pizza and vegan nachos. Both excellent! We had leftovers from the pizza which made a good breakfast the next day.

Good vegan restaurant with definitely a good vibe! Many great options even if we found some of the items to be a bit overpriced. For example, we expected the $18 Eggs Benedict to come up with actual avocado slices! Still, if you’re looking for vegan options and you’re not on a tight budget, this is a good place for you!

Nice place. The VIBE is awesome. Close to the Hilo airport. Is a vegetarian and vegan cafe.

Stopped for lunch and food was great! We had the nachos which were delicious but a huge portion (can definitely share), and the cali rootz burger which was very good as well. We also tried the lemon loaf which was very fresh and lemony! It was a peaceful little cafe and I would definitely recommend their vegan dishes! Very friendly staff as well!

This place was really good! We all enjoyed the vegan options. My favorites were the nachos and the lavender latte, so good!

It was so great to find this vegan cafe on our vacation. The staff is super friendly and the food was yummy. We stopped by for a coffee in the morning (after having eaten dinner the night before) and ended up ordering breakfast specials. Their jackfruit nachos are so good.

Great little vegan spot (and I'm not even vegan). The drinks were amazing lavender and coconut tea. Light & refreshing and not overly sweet. I was craving avocado toast so stopped in. I was in avocado heaven. I loved their bread, not your traditional wheat bread but it was some nutritional toast and a deep orange color. Toppings were fresh and full of flavor. Caprese was my favorite. The acai bowl was the perfect combo of apple, granola, honey, coconut, Star fruit. I could eat here everyday. 😋

Amazing first experience. Got the Bacon Blue burger and the BBQ Brisket. Both were on point and full of flavor. The blue algae non coffee drink was superb as well! We will be back soon!
