Papa'a Palaoa Bakery - Hilo - Photo album

Stopped by in the morning and you could smell the aromas of baking as you walked up; delicious. Loaves, quiches, and cinnamon rolls available daily. Scone and muffin options rotate throughout the week. We chose the berry scone and the lemon blueberry muffin with lemon icing. MAGNIFICENT! Still warm.
Loved the Lilikoi pie! We got a whole one to share and enjoyed it 2 nights in a row. Very unique flavor. We also got a cinnamon roll and enjoyed it as well.
Mahalo nui au i nā wāhine o ka Papa'a Palaoa Bakery ma Hilo, Hawai'i. They assisted me in providing a whole lilikoi pie to bring home to San Francisco. They fully wrapped the box in plastic to keep the pie protected, so I could then place it in an insulated bag and surround the box with frozen ice
Very fine pastry place. I had a coconut cream cake for $6. It was very very satisfying.
Vegan cinnamon roll was more like bread with sweet sticky cinnamon sauce swirled inside it. I actually liked it more than a traditional cinnamon roll cuz I can actually convince myself that it’s breakfast and not dessert at 9am. Give it a try but set your expectations!!
Recently on a local friend's recommendation I popped in to Papa'a Palaoa Bakery just after opening on a Saturday morning. Of course I was met with that wonderful fresh baking smell and a few smiling locals. I was on a mission to purchase walnut-chocolate chip cookies. My local friend had said they w
This is a great place to go if you want fresh baked bread. They have a range of varieties from baguettes, to rustic loaves/peasant breads, to whole grain and whole wheat breads and specialty loaves like olive. They make cinnamon rolls and sell them with frosting, you can get savory scones, and they
The cinnamon rolls are sooooo amazing! And they're vegan!? And they come with vegan icing!!! Eat them. Eat all of them. They're so good. Also, the oat bread made some delicious beach sandwiches. I'll be at this bakery everytime I visit Hilo.
Stopped in and was greeted by Rebecca, she was hilarious and fantastic! She gave us the run down of what was baked on certain days and made some recommendations, and pulled no punches in taking some jabs at us tourists. Came back the next day after that great encounter and enjoyed more cinnamon buns
Mac nut scone and lemon cranberry scones are truly delightful. I've made more scones than I could ever eat, and this one gets it just right. Aromas wafting out the front door of this bakery will surely lure you in ... 🤙🤙🤙🤙
